We are pleased to offer this lovely, well-equipped and homely self-catering accommodation in the popular little seaside resort of Porthtowan in Cornwall.

The apartment sleeps 4-6 (4 in bedrooms, 2 on an occasional-use metal-action sofa bed in lounge).

Awarded a 3* English Tourist Board rating, “Sea Echoes' is a compact ground floor apartment, which is ideally situated in the heart of Porthtowan, less than a minute's walk from the beach, but set back slightly so as not to be too near the main bustle of the village.

You will thoroughly enjoy the sea and beach views, across the car park, which can especially be enjoyed from the garden (solely used by 'Sea Echoes') – at the right time of year you will hopefully be lucky enough to see the spectacular sight of the sun setting into the sea - breathtaking.

There are two parking spaces allocated to this property - a rare luxury for a seaside resort!

Bed linen, a hand towel and a tea towel are provided (guests must provide their own bath and beach towels).

Check-in time is not before 2:30 pm, check-out is by 10:00 am.

Thankyou for a wonderfully relaxing stay. The apartment was very well equipped and a fantastic location close to the beach and just a short walk to the end of the coastal path.



We were very warmly welcomed as was our young cockapoo dog wh

o absolutely loved running around in the safety of garden. We were already aware that during the summer he wasn't allowed on the beach, but Katrina gave us good advice before our stay about other dog friendly beaches and there are lots of good websites with this information.



It was also a great base for easily exploring other areas of Cornwall. We particularly loved parking up at St. Erth station and catching the short, but beautiful train journey to St. Ives.



If you're looking for a relaxing stay, with good coastal paths and a nightcap at the Blue Bar by the sea to complete the perfect day, then this is your place.

Notes:
Free Wi-Fi is available at the property. A payphone is also provided in the lounge for guests to use, as there is no mobile signal down in the village. Guests can give the payphone landline number to friends/relatives so they can be contacted during their time in the property (although some guests choose to remain uncontactable!!). You can normally get a mobile signal from the Blue Bar (some networks) just across the car park, or from the beach/coastal path. A highchair and travel cot are provided free of charge should guests prefer not to bring their own (cot bedding not provided).

Cornwall is such a beautiful place and whether you prefer an active holiday where you can go surfing or bodyboarding, you like to go walking and take in the beautiful sights on the County's many coastal paths, or you just prefer to take things easy and relax on a beach holiday - Porthtowan in Cornwall is the place for you.

Now even more easily accessible with the new addition to the A30, there is no excuse for avoiding the journey - the benefits will be so worth it!

Porthtowan/Kingsley Cove area:

Porthtowan, situated on the South West coastal path, is a very popular seaside resort which is, in comparison to some larger and more touristy resorts such as Newquay or St Ives for example, a much more peaceful and 'laid back' little village which is ideally centrally located to visit so many Cornish attractions. Visit St Ives and the Tate Gallery, the world famous Eden Project, the Cornish Seal Sanctuary, the wonderful Minack Theatre, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and even the Cornish Gold Centre which is just up the road - the options are absolutely endless and a complimentary holiday pack will be provided at 'Sea Echoes' for you to peruse and decide which of the many attractions you would like to visit.

The village offers a couple of pubs to suit either those looking for a quieter time (the Unicorn immediately across the green from the property is a family friendly pub which serves very good, simple ‘pub grub’ and the Victory at the top of the hill also offers a friendly atmosphere) and also those who may prefer something a bit livelier - the extremely popular Blue Bar is located a minute's walk from the property, right on the edge of the beach, and regularly hosts local bands, weekly quiz nights and monthly comedy nights. For dining out, as well as the pubs, the Boardroom is a very nice restaurant adjoining the Blue Bar, so again boasts a great location by the beach. This has become a very popular venue for intimate weddings. There is also a seasonal fish'n'chip shop and a beach cafe. More pubs and eateries can be found in the nearby villages of St Agnes, Redruth or Portreath. Porthtowan has a village shop, post office and a hairdressers.

Porthtowan Beach:

This beach, which has been awarded ‘Blue Flag’ status for being lovely and clean, opens right out at low tide to a surprisingly extensive stretch of sand - at this time you can even take a walk right along the sand to the National Trust beach 'Chapel Porth' which will take you about 15 minutes (during high tide you can reach Chapel Porth via the coastal path which, although will take you slightly longer, will provide you with breathtaking views right down to St Ives on a clear day). The beach is lifeguarded by the RNLI from Easter throughout the summer. Porthtowan is extremely popular with surfers and there are shops in the village that hire and sell beach and surf gear (surf lessons are usually available).

Please note, as with most beaches in Cornwall now, there is a dog ban on Porthtowan Beach from Easter Day to 1st October, however there is a green/dunes area immediately across from the property where people exercise their dogs and of course we are located right next to the coastal path.

Golf:

The nearest golf course is at Radnor Golf & Ski Centre, a 5 minute drive away. There is also a larger golf course in the other direction at Tehidy, which is about 3 or 4 miles away. Slightly further afield there is the more extensive Truro Golf Course or for beautiful coastal views throughout the course, try Holywell Bay.

Ski (Indoor):

Radnor, a 5 minute drive away, has a fun indoor ski machine where instructors will teach you to ski from scratch or you can have lessons to brush up on your technique before your Winter holiday.

Further info re the locality:

The nearest club can be found in Redruth, just a 10 minute drive away. The cathedral city of Truro is about 25 min away and boasts many lively bars and some great clubs; for an even wilder night-life Newquay is about a 30 min drive away! There is a bus-stop just across the road from the property and Redruth train station is only about 10 minutes away. The nearby village of Portreath is well known for its Mineral Tramroad, which now provides an excellent bicycle trail from the north coast at Portreath along to the south coast at Devoran and this can be joined not too far from the property, just off the Porthtowan-Portreath road (if you need to hire bikes, visit The Bike Barn at Elm Farm on the road to Portreath). Tehidy Country Park, 3 or 4 miles away, is the largest single area of woodland in West Cornwall - some 250 acres. It offers over 9 miles of footpaths and trails and also bridle tracks and children can enjoy feeding the swans, ducks and squirrels!

ADDITIONAL CHARGES:-

REFUNDABLE SECURITY DEPOSIT: This additional charge of £100 is required when the holiday balance is paid, refundable within 10 days of departure if all in order.
ELECTRIC: Electricity is rechargeable by key meter (it is credited with approx £10 on arrival and guests are asked to replenish any electricity used before departure, which can be done in the local shop or post office).
PETS: Nominal additional charge of £5 per dog applies (please advise at point of initial enquiry).
PAYMENT TERMS:-
If booking is made prior to 8 weeks of the letting: 25% of the rental sum to be forwarded as Holiday Deposit, with remainder due 8 weeks prior to holiday. If booking made within 8 weeks of the letting: whole rental sum required (+ Security Deposit).
Should payment not be received when requested, your booking may be cancelled and the Holiday Deposit lost. Your Security Deposit of £100 will be returned.

CANCELLATIONS:-
Up to 8 weeks prior to the start of the holiday a cancellation will result in the forfeit of the 25% Holiday Deposit. Cancellations less than 8 weeks prior to the holiday will result in the forfeit of the total rental fee. In both cases the Security Deposit will be returned in full. If the apartment can be re-let at this short notice, the rental will be returned minus the 25% Holiday Deposit.
OTHER USEFUL INFORMATION:-
Bed linen (quilted protectors, fitted sheet, duvet and two pillows per guest for each bed inc sofabed) and also a hand towel and tea towel are provided and included within the price (please note: guests must provide their own bath towels and beach towels).
A high chair and travel cot are also available free of charge (please note: no cot bedding is supplied).
