About Julieta Slattery, owner

Former New Orleans resident and his wife purchased this home in their favorite neighborhood as a home away from home and their eventual retirement residence. In the meantime, they wish to share their beautiful home with other New Orleans afficionados.

Julieta Slattery, owner purchased this house in 2012

Why Julieta Slattery, owner chose Garden District

They chose this home because of its classic New Orleans architecture and its fully modernized amenities. It has all of the of home but is unmistakably New Orleans! Our block was recently featured in an article in the New Orleans Times Picayune.

What makes this house unique

The perfect location! Steps to the best blocks of bustling Magazine Street, yet only two miles from the French Quarter and three miles to Audubon Park and Tulane University. A quick stroll past the grand Garden District mansions will take you to St. Charles Avenue and the historic street car that travels both Uptown and to the French Quarter. Despite its proximity to so many amenities, it is located on a quiet residential street.

NYE in New Orleans

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying at this home. The entire house accommodated everyone perfectly. The master bedroom is giant and beautifully decorated. Kitchen had everything we needed. It was nice to be able to open the back door and let in fresh air. We definitely ate our way through Magazine Street. The pizza at Reginelli's is outstanding. Service at all the local restaurants was top notch. Time to plan our next trip.

A charming slice of NOLA life

  • 5 of 5

We (5 adults) spent 3 nights during Christmas week, and couldn't have been more pleased with the house. The pictures really don't convey how spacious it is, and it has true old New Orleans charm inside and out. The furnishings, linens and housewares were all of good quality, and it was extremely clean. We found the neighborhood great for walking to Magazine St for shops and restaurants, and the Nola brewery is only 3 blocks the other direction. It was very quiet at night, and had a comfortable neighborhood feel, if not the most chichi part of the Garden district. Easy Uber rides to French Quarter, about $6- but do take the streetcar at least once, when you aren't in a hurry! We also enjoyed a quick trip to the massive new WWII museum, and plan a return visit to do it justice. Julieta was very responsive to all questions, and has equipped the home very well. Highly recommended!

Kindest owner

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I had booked this house for a birthday celebration in February, 2017 . Unfortunately one of the men in our party has come down with cancer and will be going through chemo at the time of our scheduled trip. Julieta went out of her way to see that all of our fees were refunded. We have only postponed our trip and will be sure to rebook with this awesome owner in the future. Thank you Julieta!

First time in NOLA

  • 5 of 5

Our group came down to see the Seahawks play and stayed through Halloween. The home was very comfortable and met our expectations! Close to Magazine Street, with so many amazing restaurants and shopping. Loved the private backyard after going all day. Would recommend this beautiful home and can't wait to return. Thank you, Julieta we all just loved it!

Quintessential New Orleans House Experience

  • 5 of 5

I rented this house for my wedding over Columbus Day 2016. This house was more than perfect. There are great restaurants within walking distance, both upscale and come as you are. All are authentic. Staying in Julieta's house will give you a feel of really belonging in New Orleans. If your visits to NOLA usually just include the French Quarter then you owe it to yourself to stay here. The house is quite large inside and includes a huge Master Suite which was an escape in and of itself. The house has everything you need to host friends or family for cocktails, prepare dinner, or walk to a great place to eat. We even set up an assembly line to do our own floral arrangements and an ironing station. The front porch of the house is an excellent backdrop for photos and also drinking coffee and watching the neighborhood. People walk by and greet each other all day long. The wifi was great, my dad was able to watch the football game he wanted on the cable, and an Uber ride to the French Quarter is $8 and takes 10 minutes. They usually pickup within 10 minutes of being called. We really hated leaving this house and New Orleans after our 4 day stay, but we have decided to make it an annual family gathering, mostly because we found the perfect house. Can't wait for next year!
