Great stay at Elizabeth’s cottage
The property was just what we wanted it to be, right on the lake with an amazing view to wake up to.
The directions were helpful and accurate. Elizabeth helped us with everything we needed before and while we stayed there.
The location is serene and lovely. The cottage itself was clean and larger than it looks in the pictures. Five of us stayed overnight and it was comfortable (4 adults/ 1 kiddo). There was some basic kitchen items included: coffee/tea, creamer, sugar. The coffee maker is a K cup, and they were thoughtful enough to include a K cup filter if you choose to bring your own coffee. They also include some toiletry items for those who may forget something.
A few things to be aware of: there isn’t a door to the bedroom. Not a huge deal, but could make a difference for some.
The stairs up to the apartment are a bit steep, so a traveler who has a bit of difficulty with stairs might struggle a bit. I would also say that the property owner is pleasant but isn’t very speedy with responses to messages, so just allow yourself a day or so for a reply.
Overall, this was a perfect place to stay and we’d be happy to return should we ever have the need.
Outstanding and picturesque place to relax
This place looked great in pictures before we got there. But pictures don’t do it justice. We had an outstanding time. It’s scenic, serene and the lake view is breathtaking. The cottage itself is cute and perfect. Just the right size for my gf and I. Elizabeth is super nice and accommodating. We will certainly be back. Feel so recharged after!!!
Great experience and highly recommend!
A wonderful time!
This is our second time at the lakeside guesthouse, and it was really wonderful. The hosts are communicative and lovely, and the waterfront is priceless. We also love to drive to various farm stands to stock up on local produce.
This property had one air conditioner in the bedroom and one tv in the living room. overpriced and not as advertised
So sorry the house did not work out for you. The guest kept referring to me by a different name and I was confused by it and corrected her a few times but then let it go. I think she mistakenly reserved the cottage thinking she was reserving something else and sure enough with a little research, a differrent rental,
advertising different amenities and costing a lot more money was being rented by someone with the very name she kept calling me. Our cottage is exactly as advertised and it does only have one tv. When you have a lake like ours, one tv is usually plenty.
the house is conveniently situated between millbrook and rhinebeck. 15 minutes to vassar college, Culinary Institute and Hyde Park. Lots of antiquing. farms, horses, apple picking, leaf peeping, festivals, vineyards. boats available for use
