Very nice place to stay
Very much enjoyed staying here. The views of the fort was stunning and the nice breeze you got when you opened the doors was amazing as well. The only complaint which isn’t horrible was the neighbors liked to smoke a lot of pot. So the smell would come into the home. Opening up the windows helped to air out the place. Other then that everything was great. Amazing location! Just head down the hill to some great bars and restaurants.
Overall great experience. Would totally book again
February 2020 stay
Wow! The view and the ocean breeze were spectacular. Everything in Old San Juan was in walking distance. Loved it!
Amazing view! Was just as the pictures portrayed. We were able to walk everywhere which was nice as we didn’t have a car. There was someone to meet us at the apartment to show us how everything worked, where the grocery store was , and how to get around. Would highly recommend.
Many plusses, one minus.
The only negative at all was street noise, so if that happens to be a concern for you, or you are a light sleeper, think twice. The property's biggest asset, it's location overlooking the forts and the Caribbean, and near nightspots, means it is on a busy tourist strip with a considerable amount of vehicle and people noise well into the night. (Daytime was not very noisy.) There is a second bedroom further from the street which we did not use but which figures to be more quiet. The view is just as represented and the managers were always on call and attentive. The unit was very well stocked too. We would return, but maybe with ear plugs.
Old San Juan is the oldest city on US Territory and part of the World Heritage. It is about 8 by 8 blocks of unique colonial style architecture and offers everything from restaurants, bars, Puerto Rican coffee shops, galleries, open air music, and nice paths to walk by the Port & Ocean, tourist shops, Marshalls, grocery store to a drug store with pharmacy. The closest unofficial beach is in front of the Capitol Building in about 10-15 walking minutes from almost anywhere in Old San Juan. The nearest blue flag beach is called El Escambron and can reached in about 25-30 minutes walking along the Atlantic Ocean or in about 5 minutes by car/ taxi or bus. Old San Juan has a bus station from where you can go to Plaza Las Americas, the biggest mall in the Caribbean, to the Convention Center, as well as to Condado and Isla Verde, the other two main tourist spots along the coast of San Juan. Condado and Isla Verde are the modern parts of the city and have great beaches, hotels & casinos & much more...
