Relaxing and beautiful

  • 5 of 5

Roomy and comfortable. 20-30 mins away from nearest grocery store. T-Mobile service was bad. Att was great. Hiking trail was very nice. Steep hills on property. Very secured and safe. TV could be upgraded. Only 1 shower. Master bedroom has tub, but no shower. All kitchen amenities. Definitely a place where you should plan on staying and not go anywhere else.

A beautiful, quiet location

  • 5 of 5

This spacious cabin with its stunning views in a secluded setting was perfect for our family get-together in the mountains. One night we enjoyed the stars of the Milky Way from the back porch, then woke up to find ourselves wrapped in fog. We had a lovely time.

Enjoyable Stay

  • 4 of 5

We had 6 adults staying in the property and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Beautiful views from the back porch and we all enjoyed sitting out on the rocking chairs for hours. Some things have been mentioned in previous reviews, but things that impacted us were: master bath has only a jetted bathtub (no shower) and inexplicably has no towel bars to hang towels after use. We ate several meals at the cabin and found the kitchen had everything we needed, but the dining room table only seats 4 comfortably-- so we used a couple folding chairs from the closet and just sat close. The cabin was clean and linens/towels were fine. The master bedroom had older furnishings that were adequate, but the bed especially needed updating for a top-notch rating. The trundle bed situation seems more suited for kids but was do-able for adults. There was an option to try to convert the trundle to a king but that seemed dubious, so we elected to just leave it as two twin beds. We did make use of the gazebo grilling area, which is about 2/10 mile walk on steep hill-- not for my elderly parents so we grilled there and brought food back to cabin.

Owner's Response: We wanted to share our cabin home with others so they could also enjoy this special place with the beautiful mountain views. We have furnished our cabin home according to our standards, tastes and life style. Single adults as well as families of all ages have found the cabin very comfortable for their needs. There are many outdoor activities available in our subdivision ranging from hiking and swimming , and boating and fishing at our lake. Grilling is also available at the pavilion at the lake or at the gazebo near our cabin.

What a beautiful setting. Lots of views from Windows and living areas. Sitting on the porch has no city noise only nature's sounds of the birds and the wind blowing. The cabin is large and spacious. Kitchen cabinets are beautiful but lack knobs or pulls to open them. Master bath has a large jacuzzi tub but no shower!😕 No towel bars to hang wet or used towel on. Master bedroom is very large but master kingsize bed is 2 regular bed pushed together. The master closet door swings into the closet killing the space inside. The door should be reinstalled to open to the outside. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the beauty of the mountains .

There is a wonderful live theater in nearby Morganton that features plays and musical talent. Pat Boone is featured for Dec. 13, 2012

There are places for zip lining and whitewater rafting about 1 hour or so away from the cabin for a day trip. Tweetsie Railroad is a popular theme park in Blowing Rock, NC. Check out the visitor's centers in Marion or Morganton for more ideas.
