Al Campiello is a spacious and bright apartment sitting on the first floor in the very heart of Venice, in a typical Campiello, center of Venetian day and evening life with its shops, cafés, restaurants, children playing, elderly gathering for the afternoon chat.
After walking up 2 narrow flights of stairs, the apartment will surprise you with its brightness, given by the large hall/living room windows facing the lovely Campiello.
From the hall you enter the large and fully fitted kitchen with the dining area for 4 people.
Further down the hall sits a second, enclosed living room with a comfortable sofa bed (2 single beds), a TV and a traditional Venetian desk. This room has a door to the kitchen.
On the left of the main living room sits the double bedroom with a queen size bed and a spacious wardrobe.
We can easily add a baby cot.
Off the living room, in front of the entrance door, sits the modern bathroom with the very large shower, bidet, basin and WC.
CARNIVAL OF VENICE
Carnival started as a time for celebration and expression throughout the classes, as wearing masks hid any form of identity between social classes. During the 1970s, the Italian government decided to bring back the history and culture of Venice, and sought to use the traditional Carnival as the centerpiece of their efforts. Today, approximately 30,000 visitors come to Venice each day for Carnivals. One of the most important events is the contest for the best mask, placed at the last weekend of the Carnival. A jury of international costume and fashion designers votes for 'La Maschera piu bella'.
VENICE FILM FESTIVAL
The Venice Film Festival (Italian Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica) is the oldest film festival in the world. Founded by Count Giuseppe Volpi in 1932 as the 'Esposizione Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica', the festival has since taken place every year in late August or early September on the island of the Lido, Venice, Italy. Screenings take place in the historic Palazzo del Cinema on the Lungomare Marconi. It is one of the world's most prestigious film festivals and is part of the Venice Biennale, a major biennial exhibition and festival for contemporary art.
The festival's principal awards are the Leone d'Oro (Golden Lion), which is awarded to the best film screened at the festival, and the Coppa Volpi (Volpi Cup), which is awarded to the best actor and actress. In 2002, the San Marco Award was introduced for the best film of the Controcorrente ('Against the stream') section.
The Venice Biennale (Italian: Biennale di Venezia; also called in English the 'Venice Biennial') is a major contemporary art exhibition that takes place once every two years (in odd years) in Venice, Italy. The Venice Film Festival is part of it. So too is the Venice Biennale of Architecture, which is held in even years. A dance section, the 'International Festival of Contemporary Dance', was established in 1999.
The Venice Biennale is one of the most important events in the arts calendar. During 1893 headed by the mayor of Venice, Riccardo Selvatico, the Venetian City Council passed a resolution on 19 April to set up an Esposizione biennale artistica nazionale (biennial exhibition of Italian art), to be inaugurated on 22 April 1895. Following the outbreak of hostilities during the Second World War, the activities of the Biennale were interrupted in September 1942, but resumed in 1948.

The location is ideal for living an authentic experience in the most romantic city of the World: VENICE.
The classic Venetian style of the furniture creates a special atmosphere, typical of times past.
The apartment sits in Venice city center!
As a couple, we had a very comfortable stay at Al Campiello. It was exactly as the photographs and everything we could possibly need was provided. We were delighted to find a well equipped kitchen, clean bathroom with super shower and plenty of hot water, a very comfortable bed, lots of storage space, all pristine and full of light. It really is in the very heart of Venice close to Ca D'or for arrival with suitcases or 20 minutes from the station. The location on the main route through from the station to Rialto and San Marco is excellent with plenty of shops and restaurants close by and people to watch. Check in and out were executed effortlessly with Nicola. There is some noise until late from the fruit/cocktail bar in the square, but not enough to disturb us. It was a real treat to lean out and see gondolas pass under the windows at the back. We would definitely stay here again.
The apartment was great, with a nice view of a campo (square) in the front, and a view of a canal with gondolas through the bathroom windows! There is a little noise from a nearby outdoor drink stand, but it is manageable by closing the windows. The noise ends about midnight anyway so it is not all night. Nicola was courteous and helpful and speaks perfect English as well as other languages. I will definitely stay in this apartment again.
The apartment was exactly as advertised. Correspondence was fluent, and everything went as agreed. The location is very central - downside to this is that you can hear the hussle and bussle of the small square directly in front of the apartment although the double glased windows do block most of the noises. I was travelling with my 60-year-old mother and she loved the apartment too. Even thouhg the noises, I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it!
Asunto on suomalaisittain toisessa kerroksessa, käveltäviä portaita on parisenkymmentä. Asunto on suhteellisen tilava ja hyvin varusteltu. Kuvat tekevät asunnolle oikeutta. Sijainti on erittäin keskeinen, asunto on pienen pienen aukion laidalla. Sijainti on juuri kävelyreitillä Rialton sillalta ostoskatu Strada Nuovalle, eli ihmisiä riittää. Aukiolla on kauppoja, ravintola ja pieni hedelmä/drinkkibaari, josta äänet kantautuvat jonkin verran asuntoon asti. Kuten myös suoraan talon takana olevalla kanaalilla kulkevien gondolieerien ajoittaiset OE-huudot. Asunnolle on hyvät kulkuyhteydet, ja Ca' d'Oron vaporettopysäkkiä käyttäessä vain yhden kanaalin ylitys (huomionarvoista matkalaukkuja kantaessa). Lähistöllä on aika hyvin myös ruokakauppoja (mm. Str.
The appartment is very centrally located. You can easily walk everywhere. It is also rather close to two vaporetto stops - Ca' d'Oro and Rialto. Unfortunately it is very noisy - it is practically impossible to keep the windows open. The steps to reach it (1st floor) are very uncomfortable and have no handrails. I informed the property manager that it mattered to me as I was travelling with my elderly parents. He cofirmed there was a regular staircase, which was not the case. The staircase area was a mess. The appartment itself is very nice and comfortable, apart from th single bed, which was awful. Also there are too many gadgets - figurines, vases, pillows, etc. and not enough shelves or drawers which one needs for his/her belongings. People living on the upper floor of the building have two noisy and not very friendly dogs who are running along the stairs unleashed.
Located in the southern-east side of "Sestiere (neighborhood) Cannaregio" near the border of the central "Sestiere San Marco" and "Sestiere Castello", the apartment is the ideal base to explore Venice.
You are in fact about 5 minutes walk from Rialto Bridge (Ponte di Rialto) and 10 minutes from the famous St. Mark's Square (Piazza San Marco).
Other Activities: Gondola tours
Golf: Golf Club Venezia
Located next to Lido di Venezia, near the beautiful beach of Venice.
