Lovely setting

Maria and Pedro were lovely hosts and very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was extremely well equipped and had everything we needed and was in a great location near to Port Soller beach and restaurants. The gardens were beautiful and extremely well laid out and cared for with a range of seating areas, a pool and a fish pond. Maria and Pedro kindly let us leave later on our last day as we had a very late flight departure time in the evening. We really enjoyed our holiday there and are very glad that we chose this property.

Great Accommodation

I had a wonderful week here in July with my family (two kids aged 11 and 10). The property is set in the most wonderful garden of bannana palms, bougainvillea, alliums and hibiscus including a pond with water lillies and fish. Next door is an orchard with lemons, pear and peach trees, it really is a little oasis. The garden has plenty of shade and seating areas. I was pleasantly surprised that the pool is larger than it looked on the photographs, our kids had a great time jumping in and out. The property has a modern well equipped kitchen with everything you require for cooking and preparing food. A large fridge freezer and TV with good WiFi. The location is also great with just a short two minute walk into the port and beach at Port Soller. Maria and Pedro are lovely hosts and nothing was too much trouble. They told us to help ourselves to fruit from the orchard and provided everything we required for our stay, even some fish food for the children to feed the fish, which they loved. All in all a wonderful stay. Would highly recommend .

Perfect property for a relaxing holiday.

We were welcomed warmly by the very friendly owners, Maria and Pedro. They gave us fresh fruit from their adjoining garden and invited us to help ourselves to further supplies. The property was very clean with good supplies of household products and some store cupboard basics. This is only a small property so there isn’t very much room in the bedroom but the living area is ample and the garden is beautiful which is where we spent most of our time. The shower is a little temperamental but it is worth putting up with that for the lovely setting of the property. This is our second stay here and we hope to be back again. Thank you Maria and Pedro.

Beautiful garden - tired, dated house

We stayed in this house June 2018. We worried slightly prior to going as there were not many reviews and a large gap between them but the few reviews on the page seemed positive. Maria and her husband were lovely, very friendly. Maria met us at the bus stop and drove us to the house which was kind.

The house is in quite a strange location - in one way good as it is on the edge of Port Soller, two minutes walk and you are in the centre. However, it is in an isolated and rather difficult to find spot. The gate to the path to the house is in a public then have to walk through quite a barren, isolated and uneven path to get to the house which feels slightly alarming. The tram runs along the edge of the garden (literally). The tracks are behind the hedge of the garden and when you are in the pool you are literally around 2 metres from the tram although you are screened by the hedge of trees.The garden itself cannot be faulted - beautiful, well tended. The pool is sufficiently big to swim round in - not heated.

Sadly, the house is very tired, dated and basic. The bedroom is very small, dark and depressing. There was no air-conditioning. If you opened the windows the room would fill with mosquitoes as well as the sound of hundreds of frogs which croaked throughout the night - very noisy! The mosquito screen was inadequate at the window and mosquitoes got into the room - some screens were damaged. Neither of us could sleep due to the heat and the noise. A plastic mattress protector on the bed increased the heat problem. Base of bedroom walls had damp patches. The cupboard smelled strongly of mould. The bathroom was very basic - WC, sink and a shower with a curtain - the shower pressure was thankfully good. The bed above the kitchen was extremely hazardous - a tall ladder not attached to the wall - a huge drop onto a tiled floor. There was nothing luxurious about this house - everything was old and used.

On the 5th night we heard mens voices shouting and and crashing noises and became worried that someone would break in. We realised that we didn't have an actual address in case we needed to contact emergency services. Due to all of the above, we decided to leave on the Sunday morning and spend the last 3 days in a hotel in Palma as we were so unhappy in the house.

We didn't feel there was any point in talking to Maria as she couldn't have done anything to make the house different. We feel it needs upgraded. It was not inexpensive.

Owner's Response: Dear Ms. Walker Thank you very much for your recent stay at the house and for your comments. We thank you for your personal opinions about us. However, we are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay in the house. First of all, tell you that the main entrance is not the parking door. This entrance is to make it easier for customers to access the Port de Soller and avoid road traffic. He's right when he says the streetcar passes by the garden. What is certain is that there is a well built wall with a grid so it is impossible for anyone to be affected by the tram. Also, there are some cypresses that give privacy to the house. I would also like to make two comments about the facilities of the house. One is about the air conditioning that we don't have and that's written all over Homeaway. The other thing is your comment about the pool heating. You're right: we don't heat the water and we also tell you that heating the water would be a huge waste and not at all environmentally friendly. About mosquitoes, there are many ways to protect yourself from them. If you had called us, we could have advised you on how to do it. About the noises you heard, they were from the road. It was Saturday night and a lot of people party. We regret that they were frightened but there is not and never has been any danger to the guests of the house. In case of emergency, you had our phone number and we offer 24-hour assistance. We regret that you did not enjoy your stay and do not doubt that we will do our best to improve the house for future guests. Thanks again and all the best! Maria

Charming authentical Finka

The beautiful Finka gives you an authentic holiday experience only 100 m from the harbour. A great combo. The garden is beautiful and gives nice shelter from the wind, so on some windy days we could find a spot and take a sunbath while others wore windjackets. The garden is so nice and cared for, with a fishpond, beatiful fruittrees, flowers and a pretty large pool. Sitrus and orangetrees follows you to the door from your privat parkingspace.

It is well equpied and there are a lot of chairs and tables as well as two sunbeds. Inside it was, due to the early year, and probably us being the first user, relative moist and chill at the start also due to the wearther. There was electric heating with a demoisting function and a fireplace inkl. Wood. After a few days it was very nice. It has a spacious bedroom with a good quality doublebed, with beautiful linen. I see the use of coversheets but I am not very fond of them. The house has this cosy cottage feeling. The loft with the extra beds are above the kitchen. We did not use them, just plased the bags up there as we were only two. There is a steep ladder and no fence incase of smaller children. Just so you know. The bedroom is spacious and Pedro and Maria are very nice hosts. We loved it! The Finka was a great part of the holiday

Sutton Coldfield

Charming cottage close to all amenities

We have just returned from this charming cottage. Just a few minutes from the sea front with abundant restaurants and shops close by. I was quite concerned after I'd booked this at the lack of air conditioning but really it wasn't a problem . The cottage has plants strategically growing on all sides, has windows on all sides and with the couple of ceiling fans a pleasant breeze blew through despite it being August. And of course there wax the added bonus of the pool. It was plenty large enough for me and my husband to be in at the same time and have a decent swim albeit in a circle to maintain any momentum. It could probably accommodate two adults and two small children as could the cottage, but no more than this. Beautifully equipped, although please note no charcoal bbq allowed in Summer due to fire risk, which was a shame but there is a hot plate which could be used outside. The garden was a highlight. So well tended and stocked with gorgeous perfumed hibiscus, roses and herbs. The small holding had fruit, plums, lemons, physalis, figs and pears in abundance. Did I mention the grapes, tomatoes and apples! We helped ourselves and enjoyed our stay so much I highly recommend . By the way Maria and Pedro were very friendly and approachable they were available if we needed them but stayed discreetly away otherwise.

Only 3 km from this cottage , is the beautiful little town of Soller, with its magnificent carved stone buildings of the early twentieth century. Its Modernist style buildings among which is the recently opened museum ' Can Prunera' which always holds contemporary exhibitions. The Constitution square and all the centre city is a very interesting place to wander along the streets. Bars, restaurants, banks and all kinds of shops, will help you to spend a pleasant holiday. There is a tram, from 1.915, that crosses all the town and connects with Puerto de Soller among gardens and orange orchards. You have a tram-stop in both directions, at only a few metres away from the house, every 30 minutes.
