Amazing location and comfort

Why Susana Costa chose Santo Antonio
This is the apartment where I’ve lived in the past 8 years. What I most like about it is its location, really near downtown Lisbon but in a more upscale part of the town, with all kinds of transportation nearby including the subway at just 3 minutes’ walking distance. Apart from its location, I also love the building’s architecture which is really charming. The building was all renovated in the year 2008, just before I bought the apartment. The building façade and the apartments kept their original traits from Pombaline style, a Portuguese architectural style of the 18th century, but were refurbished to have all the comfort and amenities of modern houses. The kitchen was all rebuilt in the American style, all completely equipped with fridge, oven, cooktops, dish washing machine, laundry front loader washer and microwaves. As the apartment initially had two bedrooms and was converted in the 2008 renovation to a single bedroom apartment, it has very generous areas in all its divisions (living room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen). So even if it only has one bedroom it has a total of 82 square meters. Besides its big areas and original Pombaline traits, it’s also very sunny, especially in the bedroom, kitchen and balcony, where you can enjoy all the light and sun the city has to offer.

Middle of everything in Lisboa!
Ok, maybe not middle of everything, but close. It was only a four minute walk to the Hard Rock Cafe and Armani Exchange. Why those two places, you ask? Well, two tour outfits we used had their clients meet in one or the other place for pick up. A third tour outfit had no problems picking us up at our door. Mind you, these were one day, small group tours which we thoroughly enjoyed.
The apartment itself was cozy, comfy and airy with lots of natural light where it counted. It was appointed with furniture that had my wife’s approval. The bed was comfortable - I think it had a memory foam pad that made it exceptional. I also liked the fact that there were no keys - we used touchpads to get into the building and the apartment. No keys to worry about! Kitchen was well equipped and had a balcony in the back.
Which brings the first negative (I’m not taking a star out of my review but I thought you, the prospective client, should know). There was construction next door with a heavy equipment like one of those big Tonka toys. But since we were out during the day, by the time we got back the construction crews’ day was done and no problem!
The second negative was it was a walk up to the third floor apartment. Stairs were narrow so if you travel with those huge suitcases stuffed with everything and the kitchen sink, you might want to find some other place that has elevators. Or travel light and use a smaller rollie.
One last negative - the shower stall is glass encased and a bit small. It wasn’t that bad of a problem for us since we are on the smaller side of American body composition. But if your BMI is 25 or above, you might want to look for an apartment with a shower more suitable for your size.
And last but not least, Susana is very responsive to all our needs and questions. We used Whatsapp to communicate and it was easy to get in touch with her. Thank you, Susana! We enjoyed our stay in your wonderful apartment. We hope to be back sooner than later.
Quiet and great location
Susana was very responsive to our questions. The unit was clean, quiet and in a great location. Very close to metro stop and to the sights we were interested in visiting.
Cute and spacious apt near the Avenue Liberdade
This was a great location that was close to downtown Lisbon (about a 10 - 15 min walk) but still far enough away to get away from the crowds and restaurants. We walked everywhere (Baixo (Commercial Plaza/Praça do Comércio), Barrio Alto, Chiado etc. easily and everything was very accessible. We were one block from the major avenue Liberdade where all the big, high end shops were located and near a lot of cafes and pastry shops.
The apartment was cute with updated appliances and furnishings. It is located on the 3rd floor and it was not a huge issue for us but we had 3 large suitcases and there was no elevator. The apartment has a washer but no dryer but has a drying rack where you can hang your clothes to dry. It was just my wife and I so the size of the apt was perfect. The rooms were all a good size, the largest being the living room. Wifi was good and noise level of the apt was minimal. The only hiccup was that the kitchen sink leaked our first day but Susana immediately had a plumber come and fix it.
Susana was prompt and very helpful during the booking process, our stay and our check out. She immediately followed up on any issues or questions we had.
Overall this was a great apt for our first visit to Lisbon. Close to all the major sites, restaurants and bar. Would definitely recommend this property again!
Dear Brian and Eileen,
It was a pleasure receiving you. You will always be welcome back.
Avenida da Liberdade is located in the heart of downtown Lisbon. Being a premium zone, it is home to some of the best known stores in the world and the perfect place to take a walk and relax in one of its many outdoor cafés and rooftops. From here you can easily walk to the most famous attractions in Lisbon such as Rossio Square (8 min walk), Terreiro do Paço Square (where you can see the river - 15 min walk), Chiado (15 min walk), Bairro Alto (15 min walk) or the Castle (25 min walk). Within a 10 minutes walking distance you have many live theatres, shops, cafés and plenty of restaurantes.
