Max and Irma's Guest Suite, newly completed in August 2012, is a one bedroom upstairs apartment in the heart of downtown Nelson, one half block off historic Baker Street. The livingroom has a double sized foldout sofa, TV and WIFI are available. The kitchen is fully supplied and has a full size fridge and stove with a dining table. The bathroom features all new fixtures with a full sized tub/shower. A stacking washer/dryer, iron and ironing board are available for your use. The bedroom has a queen size bed. It has an air conditioner unit in the living room and bedroom and there an off street parking space provided for your stay. Please inquire about additional services if you have special needs. The great feature of Max & Irma's Guest Suite is that it is steps away from Max&Irma's Restaurant where you will find Chef Steve Kirby cooking up his wonderful lunch menu, he also serves delicious meals for dinner.

About The Owner

Dave and Sandy have lived in Nelson for almost 25 years and are a semi-retired couple. Max & Irma's Restaurant and Guest Suite has been a project that we have been working on for the last year and are proud of our addition, the guest suite. We look forward to making your stay in Nelson with us as comfortable as possible.

Why The Owner chose British Columbia Rockies

Max & Irma's Guest Suite is in Nelson's downtown district. It is close to shopping, the museum and heritage buildings that make Nelson so special. It really is a picture perfect place situated on the shores of Kootenay Lake and surrounded by a mountain playground.

What makes this apartment unique

In winter there is fabulous skiing just 20 minutes away at Whitewater Ski Resort but the fun doesn't stop after the last run as the night life is only 1 or 2 blocks away from the suite. There is a ski shuttle so you don't even have to drive up the hill if you choose. There are many areas to cross country ski or for the more adventurist there are excellent heli or cat ski operators close by.

Perfect!

This little suite had it all plus it was super convenient within walking distance to all of Nelson's must sees. Farmers market/water fall, downtown bars and great dining, lakeside beach park. We parked the car and didn't get back in for 3 days! Thanks Dave for bringing us a new key within 5 minutes of our call! Will be back!

We had a wonderful time in Nelson staying at Max & Irma's Suite. The location can't be beat. It's literally a half block from the main street; we walked to everything. And since there's a parking spot included with the suite, we didn't have to worry about our car.

In addition to the perfect location, the suite was absolutely immaculate, literally not a speck of dust to be found. In addition to being EXTREMELY clean, it is very nicely appointed, aesthetically pleasing, plenty of towels, blankets etc. We didn't cook at all, but it looked like there was plenty of dishes & pans to be able to do so.

The space is perfect for two people. I think it would be OK for 3 or 4, but maybe a little tight. The bed is OK, not super cushy, but passable.

The suite is over a restaurant, so you can hear some noise from that, but it didn't bother us at all.

My husband talked to the owner the last day and said that he was super friendly and nice. And he was always quick to respond to my emails.

We are completely sold on Max & Irma's suite and will definitely book it again!

Wonderful to have your own little apartment with everything necessary provided and literally, your parking spot is at the door! Wanted to stay longer just to enjoy the place. Next time we will check out the restaurant downstairs.

The place was exactly as the pics show and very clean. It has everything you could need for a short or long term stay. Location is right downtown, which is great for walking anywhere. The owners were very personable and responsive.

Comfy & relaxing in downtown Nelson

We very much enjoyed our 3 nights at the Max & Irma suite. It was a very functional & open space for 2 people, with all the comforts of home and a fantastic downtown location. Our hosts were very welcoming & responsive to our inquiries and proactively offered us some tips & deals around Nelson. There is a high likelihood we would come back on a future winter visit to Nelson.

Max & Irma's Guest Suite is conveniently located in Nelson's vibrant downtown, half a block off Baker St. The main shopping and entertainment is just steps away. Whitewater Ski area is 20 minutes away with excellent alpine skiing. Whitewater is known for its super powder days with terrain from novice to expert tree skiing. Nightlife is no more that 2 to 3 blocks away with live music at the Royal around the corner, dj's spinning discs at the Spiritbar and live theater, music,comedy and dance productions at the Capitol Theatre. Nelson's downtown is a vibrant walkable shopping district with many unique shops, not your average mall experience. Nelson has some of the best restaurants in the area; Max & Irma's casual fine dining is on the main floor in the same building offering breakfast, lunch and supper with live music Friday and Saturday nights. For that morning wake up Nelson has a coffee culture that includes a fresh roastery and eight coffee shops just outside the door within a 4 block area. Kootenay Lake is no more than 4 blocks away with 5 miles of lakeside trail leading to Lakeside Park with beaching, tennis, rowing club, kayaking, boat launch and food offered at the concession. Further afield are provincial parks, Kokanee Glacier and Vallhalas offering hiking and backcountry experiences.
