About Ross and Nancy Kirkham
I guess I've been in love with the West for as long as I can remember. I grew up with stories of my Father's childhood on ranches in the Roaring Fork Valley of Western Colorado, before tractors came to that country. My Mother's Father was a book and record collector and had a wonderful collection of Western History and Art Literature. In the last 36 years I've worked as a Ranch Hand, Range Rider, Horse Shoer, House Carpenter, Dude Wrangler, Hunting Guide and last but not least a Camp Cook. I've been doing pencil and pen drawings for most of that time. I've also, been playing guitar and writing songs for about 25 years now, which still surprises me? My wife, Nancy and I live on the ranch, we raise hay, Skipper W Quarter Horses and Hell once in a while! Come and see us! Ross

Great, peaceful place!
We enjoyed our stay, even though it was short. The house is very clean & cozy. The owners have thought of everything, and we appreciated the home away from home. The horses were friendly & agreed to do selfies with us! We will definitely consider it again, specially in the summer.
We would love to have you back again and for a longer stay! Glad that you enjoyed the horses.
A delightful location; friendly and welcoming; very clean. We enjoyed our stay - comfortable, safe, beautiful surroundings. We'd love to stay again. Many thanks!
We are so glad that you were able to stay at the Ranch and enjoy Thanksgiving with your Family! We hope that you can come stay again.
Home away from Home
This is a stunning place to stay, nestled in the peace and quiet and surrounded by farmland and horses. Our group stayed for a research trip for school and we couldn't have found a better place--close to Delta but far enough for relaxation. Nancy was very communicative and helpful along every step of the rental process. She called us the evening of our arrival to make sure we got in ok and had what we needed. She made up an extra bed for an eighth guest. The house was spotless, had everything we needed for cooking and entertaining. The stars at night are gorgeous! Stay here with a wonderful host and wonderful property.
Glad that your group was able to stay at the Ranch and enjoy the atmosphere! We appreciate the comments that were written in the guestbook, hope that you can come back and spend more time.
They should call this Heavenly Valley
Kirkham Ranch is just what we were looking for to stay for 10 days in the Grand Mesa, CO, area for fall fishing. Nancy and Badger (ranch dog) were excellent hosts. The house was spacious and fully appointed for any needs. Clean. Priced right. We even invited some guests to get out of the rain when their camping plans were dampened for a couple days, just like home. Nancy was very accommodating. We still had room for 10 more. It was so nice to step outside on a clear night and see the stars. That's not easy to do when you live in California. We hope to go back in 2020.
Thanks for the great review! We really liked what you wrote in our guestbook
"Thanks again for your wonderful hospitality. We really fell in love with
your valley. I know when you live in a place you don't always see
everything around you, but we were tempted to stand at the front windows
and then the back windows, then back to the front... just to see how the
view had changed - especially in the mornings and afternoons."
Looking forward to your next visit in 2020.
Family, + Fantastic area = Phenomenal stay!
It had been over 10 years that all my siblings had been together and now we had a wonderful occasion as well as perfect accommodations where we could be together and do what family does...Share, laugh and remember. The home is clean, comfortable and taken very good care of. The owners are on site if you need something, but not "In your face". The space is great for families of large and small children, couples and is equipped with Handicapped accessibility features.
Small inconvenience with cell phone connection, but did not ruin the trip, it is vacation, after all. Thanks from the Hurckes, Selig, Miller families.
Thanks for the great review! Really liked " where we could be together and do what family does...Share, laugh and remember" We hope that your Family can come back and next time we will share a campfire and listen to Ross sign and play the guitar.
We were looking for a place to accommodate our 3 family group in order to attend a wedding in nearby Cedaredge. We were so delighted to stay at this home, it turned into a mini delightful vacation for all of us! So very clean and very comfortable. The setting is amazing, the views outstanding. Landscape is so very different that we are used to. Nancy was very helpful and even provided a coffee grinder for our group. The kitchen has everything you would need. We even enjoyed a hike across the street into some amazing hills that do not look that they could be hiked. We would definitely return.
Thanks for the remarks that you left in our guest book, we are glad that our Vacation Rental worked so well for your Family and we hope to have you back!
