Beach Front Cottage, 3 BR, Open Living Area, Traditional Beach Cottage
About Liz Hoffman
Hi- I am Liz. I have lived on Oak Island off and on for 25 years. It's friendly people and peaceful family friendly beach keeps drawing me back. I currently live in the NC mountains where I grew up and now feel lucky when I get to visit Oak Island. It always feels like I never left. When you visit you will feel at home too!
Why Liz Hoffman chose Long Beach
The cottage, called Way Out, is ocean front, has great sunrise and sunset views and is in a great location. It is in walking distance or quick drive to everything you need yet it is peaceful.
What makes this Cottage unique
Everyone is comfy in Way Out. The knotty pine walls are reminiscent of many peoples childhood beach vacations and the leather furniture and laminate flooring make it a comfortable place to relax and know that it will all clean up, wipe up and be OK. So go ahead and spread your Seafood Bog out on the dining table, kick your feet up and watch the waves roll in or curl up and read a book.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The place was just as it was described. We enjoyed the ocean breezes!
Awesome house, Awesome host, Awesome spot
This is our second time staying at the "way Out". This time we brought my parents. So, 6 adults (2 crodgedy) and 2 kids, and everyone loved Liz's house and felt comfortable. Perfect spot on the beach as we watched the dolphins in the morning, cargo ships in the afternoon, and the many birds.
This is our go to spot for now on at the beach and it can't be beat.
Very cozy! Fantastic sunrises and sunsets!
The access to the beach is great and oak island has tons of infastructure. Holden beach is right next to it which has great shells for people that want to collect some. The cottage had everything we needed and included hardwood floors which are great for pets. It has a washer and dryer and two toilets and one shower all of which worked. It was the perfect place for a quick getaway. The couch was missing a lot of stuffing which was the only downside. Was hard to get comfy sitting on it. The owner was helpful and responds to texts quickly.
Southern Beachfront Views - Perfect!
Having gone through two recent back-to-back hurricanes (Florence and Michael while we were there) it did need some attention, but was very clean and a great location. The owner was easy to work with.
Cozy cabin, beautiful location, affordable and pet friendly
We always feel so lucky when we find a vacation rental that is dog friendly and affordable. This cabin fit the bill.
We were there only a few weeks after the hurricane, so didn’t know what to expect. The owner was very communicative and friendly, while we were trying to figure out if we could still vacation there.
The location is beautiful, the highlight being on the deck, watching the ocean. The outdoor table was pretty unusable, it was very warped(keep in mind we were there after hurricane, so could have been due to weather. We would hope on a future stay there would be a usable table on the deck. Also, the mosquitoes at night were awful, were told by locals that they were much worse after the storm, but bug spray was a must, if it wasn’t a breezy night.
The inside of the house was functional and cute. We had no problem finding everything we needed. The main couch has seen better days and is essentially completely worn out and uncomfortable, so would hope it’s upgraded on a future visit.
As far as oak island goes, the island and people are great.
Pepperoni Grill is right up the road and delivers.
Island way is also right up the road, they have early dinner specials.
Head over to Southport and eat at Provision Company. Good food and right on the water.
Did a boat tour with Endless Summer, and was a great day.
Walk up to the top of the oak island lighthouse(make reservations 2 weeks ahead of time).
Also in Southport, but not far over the main bridge was Joseph’s in the waterfront. Italian place, we had a great meal and were right on the water.
We definitely recommend this cabin and Oak Island. Thanks to the owner for running a pet friendly rental!
