Historic Victorian house, lush gardens, two acre Pinot Noir vineyards

Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

4 bedroom 1880 Victorian house with pool, vineyard, large lawn and gardens.

Wightman House is a 12 acre estate with a historic Victorian house, pool, and fish-friendly vineyard with its grapes producing its own designate wine (MacPhail Wightman Vineyard). The first floor of the house has a beautiful living room with grand piano, dining room, large kitchen and attached family sitting area, and a great room. There are three bedrooms on the second floor with a modern full bath. On the attic level is a bedroom with a bathroom. The pool is next to a small cottage where our caretaker family lives and our outdoor eating/cooking area. We don't heat the pool but it's wonderful in the summer. There is a unique wood-fired pizza oven, BBQ and spit, and a table for up to 12. The historic barn with two barn studios is next to the two acre vineyard with Pinot Noir grapes. An agricultural pond and large field with solar panels are next to the long allée of trees lining the driveway. In front of the Victorian house is a long lawn bordered with perennials and fruit trees, and graced by a sculpture. The end of the lawn leads through an arbor to a wooded area. A hammock area and a bordering creek complete the complex.

Great ladies weekend!

  • 5 of 5

My group was so lucky to snag this beautiful property for a Labor Day Weekend ladies getaway to celebrate our dear friend whom is getting married this fall. We happened to book on one of the hottest weekends in history, but our host was very communicative about what to do to beat the heat! She also gave us wonderful recommendations for activities in the area. All would have been wonderful to enjoy, however once we got to the property and saw how AWESOME the pool and grounds were, we decided why leave?! We enjoyed each day poolside, & did yoga in the beautiful/large front grass area. We also hired my friend from the area who is a chef to come and cook an amazing dinner that we were able to enjoy outside in the lovely area by the pool and pizza oven. The space was lit with bistro lights and made for a truly memorable experience. The friend we celebrated owns a property management company and was so surprised and happy with how beautiful and unique the property was.... she said we nailed it!

I HIGHLY recommend anyone to stay here, you will not regret it!

Thank you again Yoriko!

Nice getaway with family and friends

  • 4 of 5

The house, including the kitchen and sitting areas on the first floor were wonderful and where we spent most of our time during our stay. The kitchen was very well equipped and we were happy to have the extra wine fridge to help house our nice finds from the valley.

Charming, quiet and beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

This home is incredible; the grounds are exquisite, the space is large, and even though you are minutes from downtown Boonville, you still feel like you're on your own. We rented the home as 4 couples and one infant during a wedding in Boonville and everything in the home was perfect for us. Yoriko is a wonderful and welcoming host and very available to answer any questions you may have. Perfect place in Anderson Valley. We would all go back again, but our only mistake was not staying longer!

Wonderful Seclusion in the Heart of Anderson Valley

  • 5 of 5

This property is a real treat. It is perfectly secluded so that you feel as if you are a million miles away from it all, but are perfectly located between Philo and Boonville just off of 128 with no noise or indication that you are even close to anyone else. We spent most of our time on the large lawn having picnics, roasting s'mores, playing baseball and catch with the kids. It was a perfect getaway and was great for entertaining.

Relaxing Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 10 just returned from a wonderful weekend stay at the Wightman House -- what a beautiful property! The photos don't do it justice. The house was incredibly spacious, and the grounds so well maintained. It was a great house for a larger group, and we all agreed we'd like to come back. The owner's were very responsive and easy to work with. I hope it's warmer next time, so that we can take advantage of the pool!

About Yoriko Kishimoto

Lee worked for Apple and Yoriko serves on the board of Midpeninsula Regional Open Space Board of Directors.

Yoriko Kishimoto purchased this house in 2010

Why Yoriko Kishimoto chose Boonville

Lee is a 4th generation Californian and grew up in Vacaville, knowing of this magical valley. Yoriko works with farms and open space on the Peninsula and is delighted to practice fish friendly agriculture! We love the community up here as much as the beauty of the valley. This estate was previously owned by John Scharffenberger who pioneered the champagnes of Anderson Valley by entertaining buyers here.

What makes this house unique

This is our 'family farm' but get to enjoy it just a couple weekends out of every month. We are glad to share this beautiful place one weekend a month or so.

Top notch Anderson Valley wineries and brewery nearby including one within walking distance! Boonville, the 'little town with big charm' (Sunset Magazine) is just two miles down the country road. Anderson Valley is a hidden Shangri-La - a valley so beautiful yet still unspoiled, different pace of life, a community of artists, winemakers and farmers. Come to unwind, go wine tasting, visit the coast, go swimming or lay in hammock under the oak trees in peace.
