Romantic one-bedroom cottage shaded by mature pine trees.
Can you believe that this beautiful cottage is available for just $69 a nightly rate? Amazing but true! Scan the dozens of five-star reviews. All these former guests have experienced something special.
Upon opening the front door for the first time, guests realize this is no ordinary cabin. The spacious living room is flooded by a wall of windows, and heated by a romantic gas fireplace. There's a television offering a satellite connection to hundreds of channels. There are a number DVDs and CDs to entertain you, as well as plenty of games and books to fill your evening.
Another feature that attracts guests is the large bedroom with its queen bed and Sleep Number mattress that allows both of you to find your best comfort level in just a few seconds. Next to the queen bed is a built-in desk tucked under a bay window that fills the room with light. If you have to get some work done during the weekend or check in with your scattered family and friends by Skype, this is an ideal location to do it. Your laptop or smart phone and our simple WiFi connection is all you need.
There's a chef's kitchen in the cottage that's perfect for preparing a full dinner or a small snack. No need to spend time fighting traffic or long lines at our town's various restaurants. Just because the cottage is cozy, it doesn't mean the eat-in kitchen is lacking anything to prepare your own meals. Much care was taken to utilize every square inch of space in this kitchen, which includes a microwave and four-burner stove and oven for larger meals. There's also a full-size frig. Plenty of cabinet space below and above gleaming black granite counter tops hold all the pots and pans you will need to make that a great dinner for two. A coffee maker, blender and toaster -- even a slow cooker -- are included. The vaulted ceilings, covered in a rich T&G honey pine planks, make you realize you are in the mountains. The same shade appears on the wood floors.
Even your morning shower can be an adventure in the Pinecone Cottage. The tub has a rain forest shower head, plus a second hand-held rinsing nozzle. There's a hair dryer, of course, plus plenty of plush towels, soap and shampoo. You'll even find a jar filled with cotton balls!
Pinecone Cottage is located on the east end of Big Bear Valley. The lake, village and ski slopes are just a 10-minute drive away. But our guests love the peace and quiet of the neighborhood where the cottage is located. After all, you'll find yourself in the middle of a serene forest filled with pine trees and oaks. In fact, there are so many pine cones in the private, fenced backyard, we encourage guests to bring a bag and take away all they can carry back home.
Take a moment to review the many positive comments from former guests, making the Pinecone Cottage a five-star property. We love our pets as much as any fur-loving parents, but the Pinecone Cottage has a no pet policy so couples who suffer from dog dander need not worry about shedding hair. Also, the maximum occupancy in the cottage is two individuals to reduce the chances of breakage to the antiques and one-of-a-kind objects you will find here. However, if you are traveling with another couple and your pooch, there is a larger cabin on the property you might consider. The VRBO number is 910805.
Call our toll-free number today -- 888-424-5211 -- or send a request to book the charming Pinecone Cottage for you and that special someone. You're bound to create memories for years to come.

About David Gurzenski
Pine Cone Cottage is a joint effort of three gentlemen. Each of us moved to California from different parts of the United States. One by one we found our way to Big Bear. Each of us fell in love with the mountain lifestyle and with the community of Big Bear. One of us was a real estate instructor, one was a registered nurse and one was a top producing sales manager for a leading company of home products. Each of us loves this community and it is our sincere desire that you be able to experience the same joy while in Big Bear. Each of us is a "people person" and will do what we are able to ensure that. Pictured here is David Gurzenski and his two grandsons Jake and Drew. He acts as property manager, and will be the individual who helps you set up your reservation and will be your contact person if you have any questions about the cottage.
David Gurzenski purchased this Cottage in 1995
Why David Gurzenski chose Sugarloaf
Even though this property was purchased some 20 years ago, this vacation rental did not even exist. First a carport and then a storage shed. it grew to be a guesthouse for family and friends. Now it is a four-room cottage with all the amenities you should need to be comfortable. The cottage is now filled with a fine collection of treasures gathered from trips throughout Europe, or discovered in corners of quaint local antique shops. The final result has impressed each of the couples who have enjoyed staying in the cottage. Many of them have been so moved by the experience that they have added their glowing comments on the review page of this listing, making it a five-star rated VRBO property.

Pinecone Cottage is designed to be relaxing and even romantic (if need be). Don't hesitate to ask for any special requests or needs. Perfect getaway for two...
When we drove up, my boyfriend and I were super excited to start our much needed vacation. We contacted David 15 minutes early to let him know that we are on our way to the cottage. As mentioned by other reviewers that he gives a short introduction to the cottage and gives important tips/info on heating, certain lights inside the cottage, remote control of the sleep number mattress and even recommended restaurants as well. I really love the details inside the cottage, paintings that compliment each room, if you ever want to read; there were tons of books about landscape, herbs, authors like Dan Brown and even book about Rembrandt! Also, board games like scrabble or perhaps listen to Nat King Cole or Etta James (yes, there is a CD player which most of us may or may no longer utilize these days). If you are searching for a place to stay close to Big Bear, I totally recommend this lovely cottage, it is quiet here and includes all the amenities for cooking breakfast, lunch or dinner. Also, there is a spacious desk for those who unfortunately have to check emails for work etc.
Fantastic cottage in the mountains
This cottage is exactly as advertised. Perfect for two people. Clean, well stocked with everything you will ever need. Comfortable furniture. Close to Big Bear and all of it's attractions.
And as an added bonus, the owners are fantastic.
Nice and homey place to stay
My boyfriend and I stayed here over the weekend. The place is very cute and homey. Being the adventurers we are, most of our time spent in Big Bear wasn’t at the cabin. But the time we did spend at the cabin was nice. There was one hiccup where we had no hot water for partial of a day. We called the manager in the early AM and he came over to check it out. It was about half a day process, because of the wait time for a plumber to come out. Turns out the hot water valve was frozen. It wasn’t a huge deal for us since we were gone most of the day while it was being fixed. But the nice hot shower we took after when we got back was very nice. Overall this was a nice place to stay at and would recommend to anyone. The manager was very nice and accommodating. We were also offered a mid afternoon checkout rather than an early checkout for the inconvenience of the water.
Cute, Cozy and well equipped
A sweet little cabin for a perfect winter getaway. Comfortable and well kept, well equipped with all amenities, and close to town. We couldn't ask for more! David and Alan were very kind and helpful in detailing all the cabins features. If you’re looking for a retreat from the hustle and bustle you’ve found your spot!
This charming cottage is cozy and comfortable!
We had a relaxing and lovely stay in this clean and comfortable cottage. The owners are very gracious and welcoming and they thought of every detail possible to enhance our stay.
NOS ENCANTO A MI ESPOSA Y A MI LA CABAÑA, ESTA MUY BONITA, LA TIENEN MUY BIEN DECORADA, MUY AGRADABLE, Y ESTA MUY BIEN UBICADA
The Pine Cone Cottage is located within walking distance to the Sugarloaf park. Basketball courts, tennis courts, skateboard ramps, and a softball diamond are among the many sporting activities available. You really get a feel for what living in Big Bear is like from the small bedroom community of Sugarloaf. Surrounding properties are a rich collection of second homes, full-time residences and other vacation rentals. Yet it is only a 7-to-12-minute drive to all of Big Bear's main attractions.
