If privacy, peace and quiet is what you want, try our like new 2004' cabin, situated on 4.7 acres of hardwood forest, in the NORTH GEORGIA MOUNTAINS.
Go down a gentle path and relax next to the winding, spring fed creek or follow it into the adjoining 400 acres of rarely used US FOREST SERVICE land for more active exploring and hiking.
The thick carpet of ferns in this part of the forest during warmer months (it's never hot) adds to the already impressive natural beauty of the site. You see no other homes from the cabin.
Cricket Creek is ideal for couples. The main level master bedroom has a king size log bed under a vaulted ceiling and includes a DEEP two-person spa for unwinding.
There is a full bath with shower, and washer and dryer on the main level.
The great room's pine ceiling peaks 20 feet above a plush leather couch just perfect for watching a movie.
French doors take you from your recliner, in front of the gas log fireplace, to the large covered & screened rear porch (one of three) which offers a gas grill, breakfast table and of course, rockers. (Look for the tree 'elf' from here).
Our cabin is completely furnished with everything you need from modern appliances and kitchen needs to linens and towels. There's even high speed wireless internet and unlimited domestic long distance telephone.
You will be secluded enough for abundant wildlife but only a 15 minute drive from Blairsville's shops and stores. The cabin's location provides easy access to area activities and attractions such as Vogel State Park, the Appalachian Trail, Benton MacKay Trail (one-half mile), mountain biking, the Blueridge Railroad, antiquing and shopping in Blairsville, Blueridge and Helen.

About Tom Wammack
Tom & Marcie live in the Fla. Keys and have visited the North Georgia Mountains for 16 years. They have owned a vacation/rental cabin there since 2001, first in Helen and now Blairsville.
Tom Wammack purchased this Cabin in 2004
Why Tom Wammack chose Blairsville
To build our new cabin, we were looking for several acres with both creek and USFS frontage that was easy to walk on (not an easy task). After two years of looking we finally found this property which checked all the boxes.
What makes this Cabin unique
The best thing about Cricket Creek is the feeling of seclusion. Even though you are only 15 minutes from town you don't see any other developement from our property. It's very peacefull here. Our 1/4 mile walking trail along the creek is the property feature most often mentioned by our guests as their favorite property feature.

We really enjoyed this Beautiful cabin in the woods. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the birds and walking the trail around the creek. The only downfall was that we did not want to leave. We definitely will be back
Needed some more stars!!
Our trip would not have been as enjoyable if we had not had this cozy cabin to wake up in and come home to after a long day of hiking. It was very clean , beautifully decorated , well stocked, peaceful, and the location was perfect. Tom was wonderful to work with and responded quickly to any needs or questions. We hope to be able to return again and highly recommend Cricket Creek Cabin.
Could not have been better.
Private, spotless, comfortable.
I rent cabins in N. GA all the time but this my first time at Cricket Creek. It is now my favorite cabin!! It is just as pictured and just beautiful. The decorations are amazing and are not overdone. The cabin is better equipped than my house. Tom was great to work with and prompt in responding to any questions. The cabin was easy to find as Tom's directions were right on. It is located near many of the top trout streams in the area if you are a fisherman. The cabin sits on almost 5 acres of beautiful bottom land adjacent to USFS land so it is very secluded and private. Tom has outlined walking trails that follow the creek all around the property and that made for a nice walk. There are sitting areas by the creek that must be very nice in warmer weather.
The only issue I had was I never did find the "Guest Book" that was supposed to have information on property and surrounding area.
So cozy, peaceful and pleasant
This little cabin was beyond my expectations. It's cozy, very very clean, interestingly decorated and very comfortable in every way. We're really looking forward to being able to return one day and maybe stay a little longer than just 2 nights. We were gifted with a cold rainy night while we were there and got to enjoy the metal roof meet rain sound and just burrow under the covers and listen and appreciate the little joys of life. A piece of heaven on earth. I heartily recommend for your getaway!
Beautiful and Peaceful!!
We were lucky enough to find this little diamond in Blairsville! The cabin was stocked with everything we needed. The bed was beyond comfortable, and slept soundly every night! xoxo
