About Tom Wammack
Tom & Marcie live in the Fla. Keys and have visited the North Georgia Mountains for 16 years. They have owned a vacation/rental cabin there since 2001, first in Helen and now Blairsville.
Tom Wammack purchased this Cabin in 2004
Why Tom Wammack chose Blairsville
To build our new cabin, we were looking for several acres with both creek and USFS frontage that was easy to walk on (not an easy task). After two years of looking we finally found this property which checked all the boxes.
What makes this Cabin unique
The best thing about Cricket Creek is the feeling of seclusion. Even though you are only 15 minutes from town you don't see any other developement from our property. It's very peacefull here. Our 1/4 mile walking trail along the creek is the property feature most often mentioned by our guests as their favorite property feature.

Cleanest, most quite place we have ever been. Beautiful surroundings, really great, restful stay.
The owners have gone the extra mile here! You will have everything you need. We stayed a week and really enjoyed it. It is private and quiet. The paths and streams are beautiful! The cabin is easy to get to and just a nice scenic drive from Blairsville. Very relaxing and we did not want to leave! I’m sure we will be coming back another time.
Best Bed Ever
Cricket Creek Cabin is a perfect place to relax. It is everything that the other reviews say, but I must add the bed was the most comfortable bed my husband & I have rested in ever! Our first night home in our own bed motivated us to order a My Pillow Topper in hopes to have such a comfy bed as the cabin. It’s located in a central location with short enjoyable daily road trips to visit the Mountains and country side. I hope to return again soon.
Great place for babymoon
My husband and I visited Blairsville for a quick country getaway and had a fantastic time. Cricket Creek is intimate and tucked away but has easy access to the town. Definitely recommend!
Mountain Hide a way.
We were at the cabin from June 1st through June 8th 2019. We live in Columbus Ga. When went left Columbus Ga. temps were in the upper 90's The week we were at the cabin temps never reached mid 80's ,mostly in upper 70's what a break from summer heat. This is the most relaxing cabin that we have been in. The A/C worked very well. It has a large screened in patio. It also has super wicker gliders and rockers on the
patio. It also has a gas grill that we used and it was in good condition and worked fine. This cabin is nestled in the mountains well away from neighbors. It has very little to no traffic around or near cabin. Roadway and driveway was in very good condition. Only 3 steps going into cabin which was a big plus to me as I have knee problems. The cabin is well maintained. The bed is just right, not to soft or sagging and not to firm. There is a hot tub in the bedroom to. Deer was seen in the creek. There is that great creek sound that can be heard from the outside of the cabin, that makes it more relaxing. There is also a pathway that goes down to the creek and around the property. It also has fresh water spring. All I can say is that we are looking forward to returning to the cabin soon like maybe in Jan. 2020. If you are undecided , go ahead and book this cabin, It is worth every penny and its so relaxing.
Tom will answer any and all questions and will help you every step of the way. So GO and relax!

We look for secluded cabins. This was indeed a rare find. Very secluded on a gravel road, no other cabins in sight, very little road traffic. The cabin is luxurious to say the least. The pics don't do justice. Most of our time was on the screened in back-porch. Looking into the forest is a peace all in itself as you watch the gentle breeze blow through the trees. At night, the dark is something most people don't get to experience. The tree cover is such you don't see many stars, but the relaxation is complete. We enjoyed our meals on the back porch watching a squirrel or birds dancing through the trees. Normal food just tastes better in this environment. We took the time to walk the 1/4 mile trail along the creek. Every five feet it was a little different view, different sounds and we had to stop and look around. We would have explored the trail into the National Forrest area if we had been in a little better shape.
Tom and Marcie are a class act. Tom was quick to respond to all e-mails, and what they have done with this cabin is unbelievable. They provided great information about the surrounding area and things to do. We will have to return to enjoy more of what was on the list.
This cabin is luxury living at a very reasonable price. I looked at many cabins before I found Cricket Creek. If you have read this far I strongly suggest you stop, click book now and then enjoy an adventure and create memories that will last a lifetime. This was a blessing from God for my wife and I.
