About Nina and Christopher Terner
I have had several successful careers before returning to Woodstock, my childhood home. After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, I worked as a painter and print-maker for several years. As a lark I became a fashion model, traveling world-wide for a few years, before transitioning to the other side of the camera. As a photographer I continued traveling the world, based in London and later in New York City. I was known for my dark fashion vision, innovative advertising campaigns, and for my unusual portraits of celebrities. I then moved back to Woodstock and began a succession of house purchases; turning “sows ears into silk purses,” so to speak. I would take on vagrant and languishing buildings that “spoke to me,” and, as contractor, worked side by side with carpenters, plumbers, and electricians, learning hands-on the basics of house building. Several houses later I decided to get my real estate license. I live and work in Woodstock New York with my husband and a houseful of puppies.

Why Nina and Christopher Terner chose Bearsville
We fell in love with the charm of this property, its setting really cannot be beat. Close to town and yet really feeling utter country, and private too. The house has a functionality to it that belies its modest size, and it is great for larger groups as much as for a couple looking for a romantic getaway. With the pool, screened porch, stone patio, meandering paths, stream... the place is really quite enchanting.
What makes this House unique
open plan kitchen dining and living with fireplace... great for a group being truly together while in various rooms, and yet the bedrooms are tucked away nicely for quiet time. Walk to restaurants and cub deli from the house, and walk to the gloriously beautiful Cooper Lake from the house.... both wonderful outings.
Pool / Spa
Great house, great location, great yard
Amazing retreat in an amazing location. Highly recommend.
Perfect retreat for family vacation
I knew as soon as we walked in we picked a great place. Very comfortable and set in an ideal forest backdrop. Even has a stream in the back. We saw two bears while in the area. First time I have ever seen a bear in the wild. Made a fire every night, made smores, BBQ's, dinners on the covered porch by candle light.........Could't have asked for a better place to stay. PERFECT!
A Gem Tucked Away in the Mountains
Absolutely love this property! The pictures don't do it justice! The best part is the screened in porch which I could spend hours on. My friends and I will definitely be visiting again this summer! Thank you both for everything! We had a fabulous time and plan on returning soon!
The house was comfortable - a few amenities were missing but overall it was a good experience.
Terrific home! Well appointed! Cozy yet elegant! Fireplace is fantastic! Had a great time and looking forward to returning in the summer to enjoy the pool!
Comfortable Woodstock cottage retreat
A comfortable fall stay in Woodstock in Rose Lane Cottage. The beds were very comfortable and the linens and towels were in good, new condition. The open fire in the living room made the evenings sociable and cozy, a separate "den" for TV meant the kids could be comfortable out of the bedroom and doing something different if they wanted.
The big garden was a nice place to sit and drink morning coffee and enjoy the peace and quiet. If it had been raining the large screened-in porch would have provided a good place to hang out "outside" but we didn't need it.
The pool is unheated and it was not warm enough for us to swim, the only aspect of the stay we were disappointed with.
So much to do and see and be a part of!
