Family vacation

  • 1 of 5

Up on arriving we were very happy with the layout of the cabin and location. Then we sat in the chairs to relax and the chair went to the floor no support. The kids go upstairs and none of the televisions work in any bedrooms or game room. The one in the main room did work but would not turn up very loud. We called the number and the lady told us she had notes on that nobody told us. Then we go to bed in one bedroom the matress had a dip in the middle it just wasn't what we though we had rented. Air conditioner did not work well it was hot in the cabin the whole stay. The paper work we got when we rented it said us the cabin phone to call and say we arrived you cant call when the phone is disconnected we had no cell service so had to go out and call they need to updated paper work. I would not recommend this cabin to anyone until they work out these problems.

Such a wonderful cabin in need of some TLC

  • 4 of 5

Upon our stay here, I was terrified at what we would arrive to after having read such terrible reviews about the cabin. However, the cabin was a beauty! Our group of 10 adults and 3 children enjoyed our stay despite several minor issues. We would not let these issues ruin our stay, but we strongly feel that this beautiful cabin is in desperate need of an update. To name a few, the appliances in the kitchen all need to be replaced. Only one burner on the stove really worked, the handle on the microwave was broken, and the dishwasher didn't really clean the dishes. We handwashed everything and just used the dishwasher to dry the items. One bathroom had an ant problem. It was obvious that the cabin had been exterminated because the ants would die, but they would need to be cleaned up off the floor or washed out of the tub on a daily basis. We did have an issue with the hot tub water not cleaning or filtering properly, but Cabins for You did refund us some money after we personally drained the tub and hand cleaned all of the jets, the filter, and the interior of the tub ourselves. We recommended that the filter be replaced. Overall, we did enjoy our stay at the cabin and only hope that the owners will update it soon so that it can be back to its full potential.

I would not recommend staying at Boogie Bear . The cabin was dirty , floors need new carpet very filthy , had roaches and exterminater came and sprayed while we were there which made my head hurt from the smell. The hot tub blew a breaker and it was 1.5 days before someone came and fixed it then next day hot tub was was green and smelled like sewer so they came and drained out all the water and refilled it but still had sewer smell it also has spider webs handing from ceiling and mud dobbers nest in the master suit vaulted ceiling ! Says has TV's but only one with cable was master suite and living room and tv so small and sound so low can't hear anything in the big room! We had maintenance there every day of our stay working on something! I will never stay here or at any other cabin by this company again !! Renters Beware!!!!!

Owner's Response: Sherrie, Please accept our apologies for the negative experience that your group had at Boogie Bear. I am concerned about the extent of the issues you experienced, mostly because we have a full time maintenance and inspection team on staff. Those simple issues should have been caught and addressed prior to your stay. I will be passing these concerns on to the appropriate departments so that they can be address with those responsible. As for the problems you had with the TVs, I do see that we have this cabin listed with limited cable access. I am sorry if you were not made aware of the extent of the service before you arrived. Based on what you experienced, we would like to send a gift certificate for a discount off of a future stay. Again, we are so sorry for the problems that you encountered and hate to hear that, based on this experience, you would never vacation with us again. We do have over 300 properties throughout Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and certainly would appreciate the chance to keep your business.

DO NOT COME

  • 1 of 5

We arrived and there was bugs everywhere. The house wasn't clean. We found pills, wrappers and receipts. The carpet was nasty to say the least. The hot tub was very nasty and smelled very bad. I don't think they change the water in hot tub. The stove burners didn't work on the right. The house would set up nice but needs a lot of attention for the money. The phone didn't work so we couldn't call to check in or out. Windows were very dirty.... Very sad about our vacation stay and very imbarassed that I was the one I charged and pictures weren't close to it. They had tv's in bedrooms but only the living room and master bedroom had cable, others ones didn't work or you could watch a movies that u brought. The tv were out dated too. My son wanted to bring his play station but wouldn't work with a tv from the 90's.... Lost of complains

Needs refurbishing

  • 2 of 5

Three generations of our family enjoyed a fun week at Boogie Bear. We want to return every summer!

HOWEVER, the place is very neglected and in need of intensive refurbishing. The carpets are filthy; multiple dark stains in every room and need to be replaced. You could not do any exercises on those floors and white socks turned black. The two side chairs in the great room actually hurt you when you sit in them - new chairs needed and please get three instead of two as this place is advertised for 10 to 14 people. Air conditioning will not cool the upstairs; please install some window blinds on the balcony double windows to block the afternoon heat. There is only one light fixture working above these windows. As I did most of the food prep, I found my biggest problem was not having bright light in the kitchen. Maybe add some under counter lights? New pots and pans, especially for large quantities, are needed. The range top burners do not function - one takes too long to heat and another turns itself off. Please just install a new stove unit so that it will handle cooking for a large number of people- you can't cook for a crowd with only one small burner! The porch roof leaks rainwater above the back door. Carpenter ants or termites are on the front porch under the windows - sawdust on the floor.

The furnishings in the game room upstairs are cracked leather, well-worn and uncomfortable not to mention uninviting. Obviously, people expect to see a well-used pool table in a rental cabin, but I expected it would at least be flat. Roll a ball and it rolls back and forth by itself. We really want to use this location again, but we also saw the for sale sign out front. Obviously the owners have stopped caring for this property. It is a great place but the shoddy, uncomfortable furnishings and filthy floors are hard to take. Management, PLEASE get Boogie Bear out of disrepair even though it is up for sale....We want to come back year after year!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback on the things within Boogie Bear that need our attention! Rest assured that each suggestion mentioned has been passed along to the appropriate department to be addressed. Boogie Bear is such an amazing cabin in a great location, and with it's popularity comes additional wear and tear. We appreciate your consideration in making us aware of these issues, and hope you will find the property much improved upon your next visit.
