The Best of Vermont - Country Living

Welcome to our slice of heaven. After raising our 4 children in our home and having vacationed numerous times with HomeAway, we have decided to share our home with other families interested in creating memories that will last a life time. This is the perfect home if you want to explore Vermont in any season.

Location, location, location! Private country living close to downtown and centrally located minutes away from Stowe with easy driving access to other parts of the state. Day trips can break up the week to Montreal and Boston just a few hours away.

The views are breathtaking. You'll wake up in the morning with the sun rising and pouring in, while the wildlife begins to wake. Deer and turkey are abundant and you may even see a moose, bear, or coyote venture around our 12 acres.

During the summer, the front porch, Adirondack chairs, and hammock is where we bounce from, sun up to sun down, with early morning coffee and an end of the day glass of wine or cold Vermont brewery beer. In the fall when the foliage boasts amazing colors of red, orange and yellow, we enjoy our back deck and slate patio and fire pit, where it cools early evening and we sit by the fire listening to "hooty-hoo" - the name we have given the owls as they call each other at dusk. In the winter, we enjoy snowshoeing around our 12-acre home spread, cross country skiing, snowboarding or skiing, and then retreat home to the hot tub or fireplace room to relax. And during any season, the trails behind the old sugaring shack where our family use to boil maple syrup, are great for hiking, walks or single track mountain biking.

Our home has a very open floor plan and perfect for large family gatherings or multi-family stays. The upstairs has 4 bedrooms and a sleeping nook. Two bedrooms with a large bathroom are on each side of the house with a large family living room that separates the north and south side. Ideal for families who wish to have separate quarters.

The master bedroom ensuite is located on the main floor with additional private sliding doors that access the back deck and hot tub, literally feet away from the door. The master room sits to the right of the fireplace room.

A large and very functional kitchen will be loved by people that enjoy cooking and conversing at the same time. The kitchen, dining and living room area is a continuous open space that makes hosting very easy and enjoyable.

In the basement, you'll find laundry, an air hockey table and a nautilus gym.

If you love the outdoors and want to create beautiful memories, we want to share our home with you.

Hello. This is Rick and Yvonne. We love the outdoors and our Vermont home. We are ready to start sharing our home with other families, interested in create memories that will last a lifetime.

Why Yvonne Garand chose Montpelier

Uniquely private yet so close to downtown. We have the best of both worlds! Our last name is Garand and we joke that we have the GRAND view here, and have nicknamed it the GARAND view. You will not be disappointed. If you want some downtime but also a convenient location to spend a few hours traveling and exploring so many wonderful things about Vermont - our home is for you. All we ask, is that you treat as your own.

What makes this house unique

The views! Serenity. Our trails for hiking, biking, jeeping, snowmobiling. The hammock under the tree. The quietness. The porch! Any time of the day but the mornings are epic. The maple trees. The wildlife. The deer in the morning. Privacy. And a big open home inside that brings families together.

The Complete (and Authentic) Vermont Experience!

  • 5 of 5

Oh how we LOVED this home! We were looking for a place that captured the "feel" of Vermont and we found it here - beautiful mountain views from the front porch, rolling green lawn for the kids to play on, woods in the back to hike/bike through, and local to tons of Vermont attractions (Stowe, Ben and Jerry's, farms and all things maple) for day trips.

This gorgeous home is close to Montpelier (as "city" as it gets in Vermont) while maintaining an "off the beaten track" country feel. The house itself was spacious with tons of room (and rooms) to accommodate our large group and its needs for both privacy (lots of bedrooms and bathrooms) and common gathering areas (open concept living room/dining/kitchen; large front porch and lawn; warm and inviting fire pit area out back). It was in pristine condition and was perfectly appointed, offering everything we needed and wanted. Clean, comfy, and inviting, this place is a gem. We will definitely be going back.

Wonderful accomadations with a great view!

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful home located minutes from the city, but it felt like I was out in the country. Waking up to the sun rise with a cup of coffee on the front porch was the perfect way to start the day. The kitchen is set up perfectly to prepare fantastic meals and the bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. Ending the day with a glass of wine and the setting sun was very relaxing. All of my expectations of the property were exceeded. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to get away and enjoy their vacation!
