Great town home, great neighborhood
Stayed here for a conference (location is walking distance to convention center) and really enjoyed our stay. The hosts were gracious and communicative, and we had no issues at all while we were there. Would definitely recommend!
Family weekend visiting the Washington DC
This is a beautiful home is situated on a quiet street, and yet close to restaurants and a nice walk to the Mall and museums.
Terrific property, great location
The property is ideally located and is on lovely residential street. The property has a terrific kitchen and is well described in the documentation. The bottom floor was spacious and comfortable and accommodated our wedding party well. The owner communicated well and the house manager was responsive. We had a few hiccups, but the house manager responded and was quick to help us resolve these minor issues.
Great location - family could all stay together!
Our son graduated from OCS in Quantico on Saturday and we were looking for somewhere to stay that would house our family of 6, including my 85 year old mother. House had plenty of room for us and a kitchen that allowed us to cook a few meals in. Lacked a few things -- two lamps had burned out light bulbs, and bathrooms had liquid soap that was nearly gone, no top sheet on one bed -- had to go looking for a these items. No big deal - we managed to find what we needed. There are a few odors that need to be taken care of -- very pungent dead rodent smell at front of house (rat problem?) and strong urine smell in house (upstairs bathroom?). Future guests - there are no bedrooms on the ground floor. My mother had to climb 22 steep steps to get to a bedroom, the other option was stairs to downstairs bedroom. Also, there is no tv, stereo, or form of entertainment in the living room. Not really a cozy - curl up and watch a movie or play a game type of room. Owners and property manager were very professional and easy to work with. With a few minor tweaks this home would be 5 stars.
Thank you for the review of our DC townhouse. We are sorry that some aspects of the house disappointed you. We stayed in the house ourselves the week before you arrived, and did not notice the odors or missing items you mentioned-- but we will make sure to take special care to address these concerns.
As far as the bedroom configuration and steps up-- I wish you had asked about an elderly person coming in your family. The same height that gives us those lovely high ceilings in the main rooms makes it necessary to climb that many more stairs to get to the second floor. We like to keep the living and dining room more traditional and free of TVs and stereos, but we understand that some guests would like it the other way around. I hope our descriptions and photos did not lead you to expect otherwise.
First time visiting DC and we couldn’t have chosen a better home to stay in! Location was great and easily accessible to all major monuments in a quick car ride. Short, easy walk to stores and restaurants!
The location is great. The kitchen is new and very nice. The parking pass was a great addition to offer but was difficult to find. It took us 30 minutes to locate it after looking in all of the drawers. The master bedroom and bathroom are very nice. The living room area does not have a TV and the furniture in this room is dated. There was a large dark stain on the rug and the smell of urine. The 4th bedroom in the basement is undesirable. It's dark and uncomfortable. The bed is a chaise lounge couch and an ottoman on wheels which made for an uncomfortable bed and the ottoman rolled out from under my son in law while he was sleeping. So with a few changes this place could be perfect.
Thank you for your feedback. We didn't communicate well about the parking pass, for which we require a deposit, and of course would have given you promptly with the deposit. We didnt know about the carpet stain and will take care of that immediately.
We are centrally located for the major attractions of the nation's capital. It is < 10 minute walk to 4 different Metro stations, the White House, K street corridor, the Convention Center, and the many attractions around it. The 14th street corridor is just a block away, and is probably the hottest area in DC for restaurants, bars, shopping and people watching. Whole Foods market is on P st just 2 blocks away.
