The City: VisitBrighton is the official Brighton tourism information guide for the city of Brighton and Hove. England’s loveliest and liveliest city by the sea. Brighton and Hove is fun, cosmopolitan and uniquely eccentric all year round. Regency architecture, pleasure pier, specialist shops, pavement cafés, lively arts scene and vibrant nightlife everything’s in walking distance, so take time to explore and enjoy. And with a backdrop of the Sussex Downs and traditional English countryside, Brighton and Hove is a great base for exploring the region. Brighton is one of the most vibrant, colourful and creative cities in Europe. Cosmopolitan, compact, energetic, unique, fun, lively, historic, young, exotic and free-spirited, it's a city like no other. Nestling between the South Downs & the sea on the stunning south coast, Brighton offers everything from Regency heritage to beachfront cool. A fantastic mix of iconic attractions, famed nightlife, award winning restaurants, funky arts.

Gay Brighton: Brighton has a thriving and diverse gay scene which ranges from leather bars, to country and western line dancing, to techno clubs. Brighton has long been known as the number one gay seaside resort in the south of England. As well as the usual tourists and visitors Brighton also acts as a magnet for lesbians and gay men from all over the UK and abroad who are attracted by its bohemian atmosphere, easy going attitude and raffish air. This has led to one of the largest populations of lesbians and gay men in the UK. Much of the Brighton gay scene is concentrated in the Kemptown area of Brighton, the focal point being St James's Street and the Old Steine. It's here you'll find most of the clubs, shops and bars mentioned in the guide, so many in fact that Kemptown has become known as Brighton's Gay Village.

The perfect location for your Brighton Weekend break.

Southdown Villa

Excellent property, perfect base for our group of friends on a hen weekend in Brighton. Deceptively big - you have to go inside to really appreciate just how spacious this property is! Listing was accurate, property was clean and well maintained. Pam was so easy to deal with both on the phone and by email. Easy to manage my booking. The kitchen was my fave part as it has a huge table that could comfortable seat 12+ people for dinner! A little bit out of the centre but can easily walk to pier in about 15-20minutes. Overall a great stay, I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a place to stay in Brighton with a bigger group!

Fantastic house for friends!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for the weekend for a hen party and the house was absolutely fantastic! All the rooms are great, a fab big kitchen table for everyone to eat at and a lovely large lounge to socialise in. Really close to town and space to park cars nearby. The owner was really helpful asking any questions we had before hand. Would recommend to anybody!

Well situated spacious apartment.

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was perfect for a group of ten ladies from Iceland. Well situated and plenty of space. Easy to book and pay, and Pam provided really good service and kindly responded to our wishes. We can highly recommend two restaurants in Brighton (in 15 - 20 min walking distance) , the pizza restaurant VIP and and Indian Summer. Then we had a great time in the studio Flash Back Old Time Photos at the Pier.

Beautiful house for our stay!

  • 5 of 5

A fantastic villa for our group of girls. Each bedroom was clean, with all towels and bedding provided. Plenty of storage for all of our belongings.

The kitchen was the best part of a beautiful house. Clean, modern with all the equipment that we needed. The large table was perfect for breakfast as a group. It had plenty of space to prepare and cook our meals.

The bathrooms were very clean, and having a bathroom on each floor with bedrooms was great. Again, lots of space to store our belongings as well.

The living room was bigger than the pictures make it look. Lots of room for a girly night in. The sofas were comfy, and having some that were also sofa beds was very useful. They were also provided with the bedding if we wanted to use them.

Also, there were a plenty of sets of keys, which was useful for people to go and do their own thing without worrying about getting back to the house.

The house was close to the beach front, was approx. a 10 minute walk to the Pier, and taxi's were very reasonable. Being in a residential area it was quiet during the day and at night.

To summarise, a brilliant stay in a house that exceeded our expectations. I would recommend it to a group of friends, or families. If I go to Brighton again, I'll be sure to check if this is available! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Brilliant weekend!

  • 4 of 5

I was on my hen do and needed somewhere close to Brighton town centre but big enough for 16 girls and so Southdown Mews fitted the bill perfectly. We couldn't have asked for more in terms of the accommodation, the downstairs kitchen/ diner was a perfect sociable area and the living room had plenty of seating for everyone. I'd be aware that 3 of the 16 needed to sleep in the front room which wasn't a problem at night but was a bit of a struggle when getting ready to go out. Also the parking in the area is reasonable for Brighton (£5.20 a day) but there weren't always spaces available close to the property. However overall it had great facilities, perfectly located and we had a lovely time. Thank you very much to Pam for letting us use your property and for asking all of our questions before our stay :)

Great location, plenty of space

  • 4 of 5

Our party of eight adults and four children had a great time staying in this property. It was very clean and well maintained. The owner was helpful and responded very quickly to emails. It was easy to gain access to the property and leave. In a good location - quick to get to the beach and park. A handy parking space is included. Wifi was good throughout the property. A good property for the price paid as Brighton rentals seem to be expensive.
