Case Verde is a 1937 bungalow lovingly updated and nestled on the historic street of Transylvania Park just steps from UK's campus. It is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with a beautifully restored large loft that sleeps 4 to comfortably sleep a total of 10 guests. An artist's dream, there is beautiful natural light flowing throughout the home and the owner has furnished it with mid century modern pieces from his personal collection. The home was recently refurbished with all hardwood floors refinished to perfection, and fresh paint. New for spring 2018, we are pleased to announce (at the suggestion of our guests), even more comfort is coming to Casa Verde! All new, higher quality mattresses have replaced the original beds. The home has a beautiful front sitting porch with a view down the park and a nicely done back courtyard patio for grilling! Transylvania Park just outside the house was designed by famed landscape architect Frederick Olmsted in the early 20th century.
The owner is a staff instructor at the University of Kentucky School of Fine Arts in the Department of Art’s Studio Area, and the School of Art/Visual Studies. His work is in many private and public collections and he has exhibited in many galleries and shows in the United States and Europe. His specialty is neo-modernist furniture and fresco painting which goes well in this bungalow! All of the art pieces are museum quality frescos painted by the owner and all of the art in the home is available for purchase.
