It's unique proximity makes it possible to take in all this area has to offer. Brasstown Bald, the highest elevation in GA at about 4,700 ft, is just a 20 min. drive north of the cabin. Other attractions you might enjoy while renting our cabin are Unicoi State Park, Anna Ruby Falls, The Old Sautee General Store, Habersham Winery, The Appalachian Trail and more. If you are looking to engage in a little entertainment, downtown Helen is the perfect place to be. Helen offers many year round festivals, holiday traditions, restaurants, shopping, and the longest running Oktoberfest in the United States.

If you prefer the seclusion of being surrounded by nature then Eagles Peak has many accommodations to suit your needs. The beautifully furnished three story cabin has 3 large bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, full kitchen, laundry, living/dining room, and game room area with a wet bar and billiards table.

Every level of the cabin has many amenities to make your stay relaxing and pleasant. The living area has a gas log fireplace perfect for those cooler days and nights. It also features a big screen TV and DVD player. On this level you will also find the master bedroom with a king size bed, TV, en suite which includes a jacuzzi tub and separate walk-in shower. About Thomas Berrios

Several years ago we began traveling to Helen, GA, to vacation with family. Living in the Houston area, we were looking for a very different experience when we had a chance to "get away". There is so much to see & do so we returned several times a year. We decided to buy a second home since we continued to return to the Helen area. We've had many wonderful family experiences here, and upon retirement we decided to buy a permanent home in Helen. We haven't regretted that it!

Thomas Berrios purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Thomas Berrios chose Helen

When we selected Eagles Peak for our second home, we made that decision for several reasons: newer, good construction; cabin style; size with accommodations for 6-8 people; amenities; and close to all the fun activities the area provides. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!

What makes this cabin unique

Eagles Peak is nestled in the woods (backs up to Chattahoochee Nat'l Forest) where nights are dark for star-gazing in its quiet seclusion. Yet, the town of Helen is only a 3-minute drive away! Also close are Smithgall Woods, the Richard Russell Scenic Highway, Unicoi State Park, & Brasstown Bald. The cabin is ideally located for fishing (stream & lake), hunting (dear, black bear, wild turkey, etc), tubing, horseback riding, zip lining!

Great holiday vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We had an extended family Christmas celebration at Eagles Peak, 22 - 26 December. The cabin was ideally set up for three adult couples plus two kids. Very close to Helen and to Unicoi State Park/Anna Ruby Falls (which are spectacular, an easy hike). All the facilities and amenities were very good, beds are comfortable, plenty of hot water, location is quiet. Only small issue: if it's wintry weather, driving up/down the driveway to the cabin will be "interesting". We had no problems, it was dry. Thanks to the owners for sharing their little slice of heaven!

Great Cabin, Great Location

  • 5 of 5

Cabin was located near downtown Helen, GA and also centrally located as a jumping off point for visits to Dillard, GA; Blairsville, GA; Asheville, NC; and Chattanooga, TN. Cabin was well maintained, adequately stocked, and cozy/comfortable. We especially enjoyed sitting by the fireplace at night with a bottle of wine or making smores in the firepit. The bedrooms were spacious as was the game room downstairs. Great communication/instructions from owner - super easy to do business with. Also, cabin was very close to outdoor obstacle course/rock climbing/tubing adventure park that our teenagers really enjoyed. We would enjoy staying in this cabin again the next time we are in Helen, GA.

Beautiful cabin close to it all!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is beautiful, extremely clean, and well stocked. Driving into Helen was a breeze, especially if you take the back way! Bettys country store is a great place for groceries and supplies, we also got sandwiches at their deli one day and took them down to the river for a picnic. Big Daddys was our favorite meal, highly recommend checking them out. And you've got to make a stop at Fred's famous peanuts – delicious! Helen is cute but very touristy. We went horseback riding, and hiking right outside of Helen and loved it. This cabin's location is perfect for that, anywhere we wanted to go was just a short drive away, would definitely stay here again!
