James Boisvert purchased this Cottage in 2001
Why James Boisvert chose Lyman
We bought this property just after our second child was born. We had lived on the beach for many years. We loved the beach, but as we got older and the kids got older, we found this was a great way for us to stay close, do more things as a family, including spring and fall, as well as a nice getaway to keep in the family for a very long time. When we bought it in 2001, it was a rundown old cottage next to the water. The cottage was falling apart with toadstools growing through the floor and wire cables holding the walls up. We moved the cottage back 85 feet and renovated throughout. It has created many memories for us an still continues to.
What makes this Cottage unique
This is a very special property in that there is no public access. Therefore, we know many people around the pond. Many people use their pontoon boats and stop by or at least wave. It is a very respectful pond. The water is exceptionally clean, refreshing to swim in. The westerly views at unbelievable while sitting at the firepit cooking s'mores.

Loved it and hope to come back !
Very peaceful setting, extremely well equipped home with plenty of room for everyone. Loved the interior as well! Just what we needed for getting away!
Beautiful lake house vacation!
The lake house was well equipped. Located at a private lake with warm water, our kids loved the place and we had the time to relax.
Great Memories at an exceptional Maine Camp!
My kids, grandkids and I were very happy with this property! From the grand deck overlooking the pond, to the fire pit, to the raft and dock on the clear clean pond, we had an exceptionl time visiting this home... great location... good communication with owner... the only blip was having to bring our own linens and towels. No washer or dryer. And paying for a cleaning service when you are expected to “leave the Camp the way that you found it..” Otherwise, these minor details would not stop me from visiting this property again!
CLean, Spacious, Beautiful
Great fishing, relaxing and fun atmosphere - great for families and friends.
Clean well kept and equipped
The property had the feel of a "Maine Camp" but with a comfort level you might not expect from the traditional Maine Camp. The front rooms, the kitchen, dining area, and living room are all open allowing shared time with the family and have a door opening to a full deck where you can grill and another dining area on the deck. Downstairs, there is another whole living room space and two bedrooms allowing older kids to have their own space. Upon first arriving, it was a bit musty in the basement, but we opened the door during the day and emptied the dehumidifier each day and it got much better. There are two doors on the lower level opening out onto a nice little lawn that was great for laying back on and star gazing. It also came equipped with Cable, great wifi, kayaks, a canoe, paddle board, and a really nice dock. A bit unexpected was better cellphone signal than we get at home. There was a tower right across the pond. I spent mornings kayaking around the perimeter of the pond listening to and watching the loons and the herons or sitting on the dock by the water reading a book. There is also a great fire pit right by the water surrounded by stones large enough to sit on, but with enough room for a chair if you want one. The trees on either side block the neighbors well too, so you get plenty of privacy. There was a nice sandy area in the water too, although it could be a bit painful to cross the crushed gravel in your bare feet to get to it. Once there though, it was well raked and clean. You could go in via the dock too to bypass the crushed stone. Overall, it was just a great place. Quiet, secluded and private. If that is what you are looking for, this is a good place for it. We really enjoyed it and will more than likely return in the future.
We loved our vacation!
The pond was perfect. Clear, warm water. And all of the kayaks/swim equipment/deck by the lake. The house was great. Everything was perfect. We didn't even get any mosquitoes oddly enough. Highly recommend.
Thank you for your wonderful comments. We loved having you there and glad to had a great vacation!!
