Guestbook comments from the owner

Your home is absolutely beautiful! We were so impressed with everything. There was nothing we needed that wasn't here. It was immaculately clean and a perfect place for our family to get together and spend a memory-filled week of vacation. There was plenty of room for all of us - AND - what a gorgeous, well-equipped kitchen. We cannot say enough about these accommodations... the house, the grounds, the pool, the view, the porch, the private beach. For one week, we had it all! Thank you for sharing your home. We would love to come back again. Maybe next year.

A Treasure

  • 5 of 5

This home is truly a treasure. Our family has been there twice and looks forward to returning. In addition to a wonderful house, the beach is wide and welcoming, and the resources of the community are close at hand. Debbi and John are gracious and accessible. The beach porch is the kind of place that makes one fear that heaven might be a little disappointing.

Wonderful house for a large group.

  • 5 of 5

We had 14 family members in the house for our 50th wedding anniversary. The basement was perfect for our 5 teenage boys. They had a ball with the pool table/ping pong table. The yard was beautiful with easy access to the beach. The pictures are a very good representation of what the house looks like. This house was perfect for our family get away.

Miami, FL

Location, Location, Location!

  • 3 of 5

The house is situated on a beautiful beach, which was never crowded and had a lifeguard. Our family of twelve, four from Miami area, three from Atlanta and five from Boston love spending vacations on the beach. The five grandkids range in age from 5-13. We try to do a family reunion once a year! We have been to Cozumel, and Captiva. This year was extra special since it was our 50th wedding anniversary! We enjoyed walking down the back stairs to the pool and directly onto the beach. The porch was wonderful to sit , enjoy the view and sip our drinks! The house is very comfortable, but it is old with several levels so watch your step! There were no restaurants within easy walking distance, so we did BBQ. The kitchen was very well stocked to do any kind of cooking! There was plenty of propane but the outside grill was filthy and loaded with grease! Our youngest son did his best to clean it but needed a glass of water to put out the grease fires! We did bring blowup mattresses so the two 5-year olds could sleep with their parents. The 13 year old slept in the apartment on a futon and the two boys, 7&9 slept in the middle bedroom. Two sets of bunk beds in that room would be nice for kids. The downstairs apartment bedroom needs a new mattress and the shower cleaned of mold. The air

handler next to that bedroom was quite noisy, so if you plan to use it you might want to bring earplugs. The light in the gazebo did not work which the owner tried to fix, but to no avail. This was not a problem since we ate early due to the ages of the kids. The house was only an hour away from the Kennedy Space Center, which we all enjoyed immensely! The owners and the local contacts were very helpful and approachable. It was a fun week that we all enjoyed it very much, and had the special treat of watching a turtle come ashore and lay eggs!

Owner's Response: We strive to provide an outstanding stay for all our guests. You may notice that our guests after your stay, and before your comments were received, had a five-star stay. Although no guests before or after your stay had trouble with the mattress, the sound of the A/C, the grill, or walking to the over a dozen restaurants within less than a mile, we have, upon receipt of your review, replaced the mattress, had the 1-year-old A/C unit checked (it was perfect), and replaced the 6-month-old grill. Had you let us know during your stay, we would have happily replaced them for your enjoyment. Had you let us know the light in the gazebo was still not working after we sent our handyman, as the next guests did, we would have had our electricians in right away, as we did once we knew there was an issue. As for your comment about the house being old, we are very proud to own the oldest house on the beach and love its colorful history since having been built in 1895. No guest has had an issue with the small steps, including those with physical challenges. We wish you all the best.

Amazing Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed our stay at this wonderful home. It is exactly as described and the owners are very attentive. We watched the sunrise and dolphins swim from the amazing porch. It is literally steps to the ocean, if you don't get stopped at the pool first. There were beach chairs, toys, beach umbrella, and even bicycles to enjoy. Our group was made up of three generations and there was something for everyone. The game room downstairs was a hit, especially the pool table and ping pong table. The kitchen is stocked with just about anything you could need and there were plenty of towels for all. The time passed so quickly, but we enjoyed every moment. If you are looking for a place to vacation, this is it!!!

Family Fun

  • 4 of 5

The porch, beach and beach access are as good as it gets.

The beach was spacious and gave the kids plenty of room to

play without interfering with others. We shared our beach access

with three turtle nests. Two of them were made during our stay!

The house had all we needed and provided plenty of space to

find a quiet place when you wanted one. Thanks for the great

family vacation.

An Ormond Beach pearl

Superlatives aplenty. Amazing location, incredible porch with stunning views of the ocean, wonderfully accented home, gracious owners, fun pool area, outdoor seats for an army, easy access to restaurants and groceries, and have to end with location (must see to fully appreciate). A gem of a house on a breathtaking stretch of beach.
