Family Friendly Or Quiet And Relaxing Get-away With Sunset Views

Bedrooms 2
Space 1,200 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

2 Bedroom, 2 Bath, Sleeps 4+ With Mountain, Water And Sunset View

Welcome to my Camano island vacation home! You are invited to spend some relaxing moments just looking out at the water, doing puzzles or playing chess on the table by the window, playing ping pong in the lower level rec room, walking the short block to the community beach and checking out the sea life and birds, or exploring the island.

Our kitchen is well stocked with new stove, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator, coffee maker, blender, and toaster, as well as utensils (including a wine bottle opener), pots and pans, dishes and glassware, and a picnic basket ready to go with all the necessities!

The dining table can be set with linens and candles or more casual fare, the propane fireplace provides ambiance as well as quick heat for that cozy feeling, and a couple of rocking chairs are just what is needed to snuggle in with a good book.

There is a television in the living room with dvd and tape player attached, a small collection of dvd's mainly geared to the kids (or the kid in the adult!), wi-fi for your computer, and a cd/radio player.

Master bedroom has a queen sized comfy bed and the master bath has a jetted tub as well as a stall shower. The guest room has a twin and a double, and the guest bath has a stall shower. A laundry room is also available.

The lower level is reached by an outside door and along with the ping pong table you will find space for craft projects such as drift wood pictures, etc.

It has a two car garage, a large deck with table and chairs, and two fenced yards. The front yard includes a patio with fire pit and benches for sitting around the fire. (Marshmallow roasting sticks are in the kitchen!)

About Linda McRea

My main residence is in Des Moines, WA where I live with my small dog. I will eventually retire to my Camano home, but am presently spending time near my father and the rest of my family.

Linda McRea purchased this house in 2012

Why Linda McRea chose Puget Sound North

I fell in love with the house, yard, community and the view of the Sound. Definitely looking forward to spending more time up there eventually, but want to share it with others for now.

What makes this house unique

The chance to enjoy the view, especially when there is a wonderful sunset, and just relax in a much less hurried atmosphere is the 'calling' of this home. The jetted tub in the master bath can also add to the relaxation factor!

Just what we were looking for

  • 5 of 5

Linda's house was perfect. We thought we were going to use it just as a base camp while visiting family in the area, but we ended up inviting them all over for board games and movies to kick off the new year. There was plenty of room and seating for twenty, and the view of the fireworks across the sound was fantastic. It was so close that everyone rang in the new year and was home before one.

Loved everything about it!

  • 5 of 5

Everything about this home is perfect. Location, comfort, and cleanliness all exceeded expectations. Linda's home was more equipped and guest friendly than any home we've stayed at so far. It was a short stay but would absolutely choose this home again.

Very clean, comfortable and great location!

  • 5 of 5

Linda's home provides everything you need, just bring your food and activities agenda! Coffee, popcorn and s'mores were even provided! We were there for Thanksgiving holiday from 11/21 through 11/29. The beach is easy access and we enjoyed morning walks even with the chilly air! Firewood was provided and we enjoyed a lovely fire and BBQ with family that live in the area on our last evening. The internet is provided and is excellent. The IGA market on the island is excellent for ready to eat or heat meals at a good value. Overall the location of Linda's home was perfect for our needs. Family in Stanwood was a liesurly 20 minute drive. The Crows Nest was a good place to eat - very friendly staff and good food for the value. We highly recommend Linda's VRBO and we love Camano Island!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the kind words! I am glad you enjoyed your stay, even with the weather being a bit on the windy and cool side. I am very impressed that you braved all that weather and used the fire pit! Well done! And thank you also for leaving it in such pristine condition! Made it very easy for me which is appreciated. Come stay again some time, you would be most welcome! Linda

Lovely place to relax

  • 5 of 5

We stayed two nights and could have been there longer. It had all the facilities we needed with having 2 small children around, enclosed yard, large living room, well equipped kitchen and all linens. It even had a fire pit, so in the evenings the kids were mesmerized. The beach is a short walk and nice to walk along and there is a state park with walking trails not far away. The host gave great directions and was lovely throughout the whole process.

The house was clean and spacious plenty of room for a family to move about.

  • 5 of 5

The neighborhood is quite and relaxing. The water is maybe a two block walk you can see it from the back deck. The back deck is a great spot for your morning coffee or tea in my case! The yard has plenty of room to run around and there is a really nice fire pit . There is game room on the bottom of the house that I wished I 'd had more time to visit. Overall while my trip was short the house was perfect and we found a nice little breakfast cafe (the Crow's Nest) only maybe 10 mins away.

Camano Island is across a bridge (instead of a ferry ride) and approximately a 90 minute drive up I 5 north from Seattle. There are two state parks on the island (requires Discover Pass or $10 day fee), several antique and thrift stores, and dozens of weekend estate and garage sales. You can find elegant dining at the Camano Island Inn as well as casual dining choices on the island and close by in the town of Stanwood. Golf can be found at Camaloch Golf Course on the east side of the island and a zip line attraction is another adventure. Lavender fields, locally grown organic foods, and many other local events are listed in the Crab Cracker, our local free publication which is published twice a month.
