3 bedroom 3 bath Spanish Style house located steps from the beach

Our house is located near the wedge in Newport Beach. Neighborhood is best of both worlds, residential family oriented and steps from the beach. We recently added plank flooring and painted the upstairs and are happy to be able to share with our guests. Our house has great character and charm and we've paid attention to detail to create comfortable beds and great towels. We want our guests to feel like home here. About Trish Ponder

Our house is familiy owned by my husband and I with my Dad. Being a California native I grew up locally coming frequently as a kid to Newport beach and specifically the Wedge. We all still live locally in Orange County and enjoy spending as much time at beach when time allows.

Why Trish Ponder chose Newport Beach

We purchased this house for the location and to have somewhere to spend holidays and free time. Because it's located in more of a residential feeling neighborhood, we are able to enjoy the beauty of the beach without all the noise that tends to come in the summertime in other areas of Newport.

What makes this house unique

Spending time at the beach is great. Waking up to the sound of the waves and the ocean breeze never gets old. Because the house was originally built in the 30's, we appreciate the architecture as well as the character. With that we've tried to integrate modern conveniences, but keeping everything simple but most of all comfortable.

GREAT!!!

The house was PERFECT. The picture and description were spot on but left out some other great items. Like there were actually LOTS of bikes, I know for sure there were at least 3 adult sizes, 2 teen sizes and 1 smaller size (prob around 10 year old) and there may have been 1 more. There were 3 boogie boards and 3 beach chairs plus a nice Tommy Bahama beach umbrella and a ice chest. There were 3 surfboards (we never touched them) and a kayak (we never touched that either) The washer and dryer were really new and in great condition!

The house was VERY clean and had everything you would need, lots of towels, beach towels, kitchen towels, rags, toilet paper (TONS) and paper towels (TONS).

We literally ONLY needed to pack our own clothes and food for the week and we were set! I really appreciated all the details that were covered.

You are so close to the beach, it was NOT a problem going to and from the beach for lunch, restroom breaks or grabbing drinks and snacks. Unfortunately being this close to the beach and FREE parking (street parking) means you have to deal with the people visiting for the day. So expect to hear cars, surfers, fisherman, bikes and families walking around all day from about 7am-10pm. However, who can complain when you're sitting on the porch enjoying a glass of wine and watching the world go by.

The house was really big for our family of 5, 2 adults, 2 teens and 1 9yo. We all got to spread out and never felt like we were on top of each other. The outdoor space was a bonus for everyone. We had breakfast, dinner and cocktails most days out on the patio out front. We did have some guest visit us on a few different days and the kids LOVED having their own private outdoor patio upstairs.

For those who don't know the area, you are less then a block from the Wedge, a great surfing/body surfing/boogie boarding area. We would go to watch these guys every evening. You are about 1 mile from the balboa pier and fun zone (we rode or walked there daily). You're 3 miles from Newport pier and tons more restaurants, we rode the bikes there several time.

Working with the owner, Trish, was great, she was very responsive and helpful throughout the whole process.

We did NOT need to drive the entire week which was AWESOME.

Great time on Balboa Peninsula

This is a great house for a family. Wonderful to have a garage, washer/dryer, and easy access to the beach. Great location on the Balboa Peninsula in a quiet neighborhood. Close walk to the Wedge and the Fun Zone. Highly recommend.

I truly call this our "Happy Place"!! This was our second year in a row renting this house. It is absolutely a perfect location!! Located in a very quiet residential neighborhood and one street away from the sand! The house is great! Rode bikes all around, walked to the Wedge every night for sunset and of course sat on the beautiful beach every day...and the best part is, the beach that far down is never crowded. Can't wait to go again next year!!
