About Garet Wohl

architect in Boston, Massachusetts, USA

Garet Wohl purchased this house in 2007

Why Garet Wohl chose Grenada

Having traveled to many places worldwide looking for a tranquil, scenic country in a warm climate to build a vacation home, I knew that Grenada would satisfy all my requirements when I experienced the unselfish kindness of the Grenadian people. The fact that it has a year-round perfect climate -- making ideal sailing conditions below the hurricane belt, besides being English speaking, and just far enough off the beaten track while easily accessible to major US and European airlines -- is a bonus.

What makes this house unique

In addition to the breathtaking view and the convenience of an on-site lap pool, the area offers nearby beaches, swimming, snorkeling, fishing, sailing, scuba diving around the island at many bays, hiking, waterfalls, herb gardens, wildlife, numerous flowers and a variety of birds.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Everything was great including Bentley.. Fell in love with the island enough to look into real estate but couldn't find anyplace to compare to yours.. We will be back. Let us know if you choose to sell :).

Thanks

Grenada magic

  • 5 of 5

Having been picked up by the caretaker, Bentley, who with his introduction to the island set the tempo for a fun filled experience. Garet, the property owner, turned out to be a bonus to our journey as she was fun, gracious and extremely friendly. The property and its location was simply exotic and with La Sagesse beach within a short walk or drive added all the ingredients we needed for a great trip. Renting a car for a few excursions and driving the opposite side of the road proved to be exhilarating. Grenada is a special place inhabited by warm and special folks and we hope to someday return.

View is amazing and house is perfect

  • 5 of 5

The view in person from the house is is more amazing than a picture can capture. The property caretaker and owner of the house were available if needed. They both are kind and were willing to go out of their way to make sure the our stay was perfect. We spent much of our time on the property. The temperature there was always comfortable. We particularly enjoyed grilling outside and making use of a kitchen with more ammmenties than I've seen at any other house we have rented through VRBO.

The nearby beach was very nice and never very crowded. There is a restaurant and bar there. We tried a few cocktails there which we're all delicious and made with fresh Juices.

The owner asked us what we would change with the property and I couldn't think of anything more that we could want. A few weeks later now as I write the review, I still don't think the property could be more perfect.

Great place if you're looking for quiet time alone with your spouse! Owner is amazingly gracious.

Beach nearby is nice. The restaurant there is recommended,

If you are a skilled driver and like a challenge, you can tour the island.

Recommend going to the fish market about 1/2 hour away and grill at the home.

Watch the sunrise.............and set!

  • 5 of 5

A well appointed and superbly situated contemporary house sitting atop a ridge with easterly views over La Sargasse Bay and westerly views over Grenada Marine. The heat was tempered by the constant breeze enabling us to eat every meal outside overlooking the excellent lap pool.

Excellent location, quiet yet convenient.

Ridge Top

Great location, kitchen was well equipped, pool was fantastic.Views from all rooms great.

Local beach was well protected from wind and waves were small. No need for Air-con as constant breeze coming up the hill. Great location very quiet.

simple and elegant

  • 5 of 5

We agree with the glowing reviews below. Spending time in Grenada is a tremendous break. This is the ideal setting: away from crowds, close to a fine beach and restaurant at La Sagesse, and a half hour to St. George's, Grand Anse or Grenville. The design is modern and elegant. We cooked 3/4 of our meals, and found the kitchen a pleasure to use. All the logistics were smooth as silk. National Colors Day in Grenville was one highlight!
