This large apartment is located 1 block from the Canal Street Car Line in an area of New Orleans called Mid City. There is no need to have a vehicle. Public transportation is very convenient. The Street Car will take you downtown to the French Quarter and River areas. It will also take you to the New Orleans Museum of Art, Sculpture Garden, City Park, and area restaurants.

The apartment is not just a bedroom. It has a bedroom upstairs with a queen bed and closet. The bedroom has a small balcony overlooking the landscaped backyard and pond.There is also a bathroom with a large, beautiful clawfoot tub, pedestal sink and shower surround located upstairs. A hair dryer is also in the bathroom. Heart pine floors are in the bedroom, hall and all of the downstairs.

Downstairs includes double parlor for sitting, watching television and lounging after a day of exploring the city. One room has a sofa, love seat and television while the other parlor has a futon and chairs. The futon can be folded down and made into another bed. The sofa and love seat can still function as a sitting area. There is plenty of room to spread out in this roomy apartment. Beautiful heart pine floors are in the entire downstairs area.

The full kitchen has everything one would need for a stay: gas stove and oven, refrigerator, pantry, dishwasher, table,chairs, dishes and flatware, pots and pans.

A clothes washer and dryer are accessible and convenient.

The apartment back door opens out onto a beautifully landscaped backyard with pond, cabana with table and chairs and barbque pit.

About Tracy Hamlin

I am a costume designer here in New Orleans. I was just awarded the RAW Fashion Designer of the Year 2012 for New Orleans. Born in the Mississippi Delta, I naturally migrated downstream to New Orleans. Finished a graduate program at the University of New Orleans and decided to stay in the city and rear my two children here. I started making headdresses while costuming during Mardi Gras. Costuming is a tradition in New Orleans because of Mardi Gras and various other activities. My creations have gone from headdresses to decorated feathered bustiers to nutria pelt bags and purses. Using feathers, appliques, alligator heads, oyster shells, Spanish moss and an assortment of other trinkets, I create headdresses that are both comfortable and adjustable. I sell on etsy and have sent headdresses, bustiers and nutria bags all over the United States, and even as far away as Bulgaria. I participate in art markets in New Orleans and across the Gulf Coast region.

What a great house in New Orleans! Upon arrival, Tracy was there to greet us and show us around the house and tell us about everything in the area. This house is very close to two really amazing breakfast restaurants and a few really fun bars. (All within a mile of the house) Since this house is 1 block off of Canal Street, you don’t even need a car to get around since you can use the street cars that only cost you 3 dollars a day! The house itself is so comfortable, very spacious and has everything you need. The first floor has one very large living area with a futon that is divided into two spaces and then a great fully equipped kitchen. The upstairs is where the spacious bedroom is along with the single bathroom. The other great feature of this house is the HUGE backyard with a patio to enjoy the outside weather. There is even a small fishpond that sets a tranquil scene to just kick back and relax. Thank you Tracy for having such a great space for my husband and I to enjoy New Orleans!

quiet gem in mid city

very spacious, yet cozy apartment in mid city. This property was very close to our daughter, which was a real plus. The garden was very cute, but weather prevented us from enjoying it. The bed was very comfortable, great bathroom with claw foot tub, super comfortable couches downstairs and fully equipped kitchen. This is a quiet neighborhood just a block off Canal St.

We really enjoyed ourselves. Thanks Tracy!

Better than expected!!

Apartment had tons of room and was very comfortable. The back yard was great with s sweet pond. It was only a short walk to the city cars which made it easy to get to and from the quarter. Highly recommend this rental.

Out of the Hustle and Bustle

Great location for public transport, excellent restaurants nearby. Easy access to the French Quarter. Quiet. We only slept there!

Great for one couple......tons of room. Not convinced based on the layout (bathroom up and extra bed near front door) that it would work a family or a sceond couple.

Would definitely stay here again. Lovely, comfortable. The best sleep we'd had in days!

peaceful neighborhood

Restaurants in walking distance. Quiet, school across the street. Easy access to Canal street trolley and Uber. Tracy was friendly. Would recommend to friends. Comfortable bed, better than a hotel room . Plenty of towels. Free parking in front of apartment.

Great Stay in New Orleans

My stay in New Orleans could not have gone any smoother thanks to Tracy and this wonderful property. The location is fantastic with easy access to public transportation only a couple of blocks away. I not only loved the location but I loved the apartment as well. I was visiting New Orleans alone on business but spent more than a week in town. The next time I come to town I will definitely attempt to book with Tracy. Thanks for such an easy and wonderful stay, Tracy!
