About Tracy Hamlin
I am a costume designer here in New Orleans. I was just awarded the RAW Fashion Designer of the Year 2012 for New Orleans. Born in the Mississippi Delta, I naturally migrated downstream to New Orleans. Finished a graduate program at the University of New Orleans and decided to stay in the city and rear my two children here. I started making headdresses while costuming during Mardi Gras. Costuming is a tradition in New Orleans because of Mardi Gras and various other activities. My creations have gone from headdresses to decorated feathered bustiers to nutria pelt bags and purses. Using feathers, appliques, alligator heads, oyster shells, Spanish moss and an assortment of other trinkets, I create headdresses that are both comfortable and adjustable. I sell on etsy and have sent headdresses, bustiers and nutria bags all over the United States, and even as far away as Bulgaria. I participate in art markets in New Orleans and across the Gulf Coast region.
Tracy Hamlin purchased this Apartment in 1987

Comfortable and clean
We felt at home very safe and comfortable. Close proximity to the street car easy to get around. Nice quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed our time together there.
Clean comfortable welcoming and spacious
Very comfortable and well maintained half house in peaceful neighbourhood.
Our trip to New Orleans was awesome, in part due to this great home and property. Tracy was very nice and informative. The process was very smooth from booking through the moment we left. We were able to utilize the spacious back yard and really enjoyed the sounds of water falling into the Koi pond. The house itself is very spacious but has a wonderful, homey feel to it. It was really nice to have such a nice place to come back to after a day of exploring the area. Having the trolley just a block away suited our transportation needs 95% of the time. We would certainly look to stay in the same place on our next trip to the area!
P.S. - Tracy also has great taste in literature with a great book collection!

Property was spacious, clean, and full of charm.
The owner was very friendly and the neighborhood was quiet and charming. The location was only a block away to the trolley which made it very convenient to get to French Quarter. I would recommend this property.
Great space in Mid City
We had a great stay here and the home is very well appointed with nice towels, sheets and paper products all supplied. The street car is very close and but do be aware they are not overly quick if you are on a timeline-we used them almost daily but often cabbed back later in the evening -quite reasonable.
Being in mid-city allowed us to check out some places that we would have likely missed had we been closer to the quarter. While it is likely more quiet than the quarter and surrounding areas be aware there is a school across the street and Tracey was having some work done outside while we were there.
The backyard is a lovely place to read or grab a drink and there are a number of food and bev spots within a reasonable walking distance. We enjoyed Juan's Flying Burrito, Theo's , both Italian spots I won't spell correctly (Brocato and Venezie). The Bayou Beer Garden and Bayou Wine Garden (attached to each other) good food and bev with happy hours and currently a Thurs-Sun Crawfish boil ($13.00). There are 2 good breakfast spots on Banks -Wakin Bakin and Biscuits and Buns.
They are welcoming hosts and you can also walk to many of the cemeteries in under 10 minutes.
One bathroom upstairs does not really make it the best for 2 couples although there is lots of living space but good for 3-4 girls or a small family.
Beautiful lodging and great location
Such a charming house, and neighborhood. Easy access to the trolleys which took us everywhere. Cozy bed, and comfortable bedroom. Great bathroom and towels-cool tub/shower. Full kitchen-though only used the fridge and coffee pot. We were non stop busy in New Orleans but enjoyed beginning and ending our day either on the lovely front porch or the lovely back yard. Tracy was very helpful and accommodating. This apartment was a little gem in this beautiful city. We are grateful we were able to stay here.
The property is 1/2 of a double located one block off of the Canal Street Car Line which takes you to the French Quarter, City Park, and New Orleans Museum of Art. Easy to get to Voodoo Fest and Jazz Fest. There are a variety of restaurants close by. Historic cemetery, street car transportation, casino and racetrack, City Park includes wonderfully new walking trail, Botanical garden, New Orleans Museum of Art, paddle boats, golf and fishing.
