Pleasant neighborhood near Capital
3/5Stayed Feb 2017
Pleasant neighborhood of homes easy walk to Capital, buses and metro stations. The set up reminded me of a well run hostel. Acess code for entry as staff leaves at 5 PM. Guests can store food in refrigerator and prepare simple meals if they desire. Cereal, toast and coffee available for breakfast. Staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms were very basic. Other guests were quiet friendly and genuinely pleasant people

There was no staff. The answering machine never gave an opportunity to talk to a human. Room is bare bones. Not even given a glass to use in the bathroom.
Only saving grace ... it is ten blocks from the Capitol office buildings.

I could not have been more pleased.
5/5Stayed Jan 2017
The location was excellent, staff was very attentive and room was delightful. Bed and bathroom were excellent. My only criticism was the quality of the coffee, which was very poor. Next time I will bring my own Starbuck's instant coffee packs.

A $50 Experience For $150
2/5Stayed Oct 2016
Barely adequate for the brief (one-night stay). But let's be perfectly clear. This is not a bed-and-breakfast. This is a hostel that calls itself a bed-and-breakfast. And "hostile" might be a slightly better adjective, which I will get to shortly.
First, B-and-Bs have charm. This place is charmless. Little decor in the public spaces; bare walls in the room.
The room, although clean, was furnished with two cheap writing desks and two plank twin beds with even cheaper mattresses. The sheets and towels -- and the room for that matter -- reeked of the cheapest detergent and cleaners imaginable.
Second of all, B-and-Bs make and serve breakfast. This one is self-serve continental only. Just starches (bread, cereal and oatmeal) are available. You are expected to wash all your own dishes.
Third of all, B-and-Bs are supposed to have some warmth and pride of ownership. My arrival was peremptorily greeted. I was shown the room. That was it. I was given the code to get in the front door, but not told how to maneuver the door knob -- something I only learned later, thankfully, from another guest, as I struggled to get back in that evening.
I just handed over the room key to the same person who let me in the previous day. No asking if I enjoyed my stay, or if they could bring me anything, or if they could provide me with a receipt. No goodbye at all.
The place is in a charming neighborhood. But I received a $50 experience for $150, and the owners could not care less.

Close to the capitol and Union Station

A Verified Traveler
The B&B is an interesting old house, which must be about 100 years old. When I arrived there was no one present to admit me, but when I called the telephone number someone appeared who let me in and located the key to the room. The room was spartan, but clean and perfectly comfortable. The breakfast in the morning is simple, and everyone in the B&B was pleasant and helpful. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to Union Station.

grazioso b&b in stile vittoriano e zona tranquilla
4/5Stayed Nov 2016
cercavamo la tranquillità e l abbiamo trovata, una vera e propria oasi di pace in un quartiere residenziale appena alle spalle del campidoglio, stile vittoriano molto originale e particolare.
