About the property

3 bedroom, 1.5 baths, views of 500 acre Pike Lake and Pike Lake State Park

In May 2015 we completed replacement of the kitchen with all new cabinets, solid surface counters, lighting, flooring, all appliances (including full size dishwasher).New flooring in the 1/2 bath and dining area. Some furnishings were replaced as well.

Sand Beach and Great swimming frontage with hard rippled sand bottom on clean and clear 522 acre lake. Both young and old enjoy floating or playing in the water. All water sports are permitted including water skiing and jet skis. Winter snowmobiling trails only 300 feet away in Washington County and nearby Dodge County. Popular ice fishing lake. There are more ice fishing shanties in winter than boats in summer.

We only have this property and clean and care for it ourselves to ensure everything is ready to make those great memories. We wash all sheets as well as duvet cover and blankets as do Hilton Hotels, but we have found that many hotels do not.

A paddleboat is included at no extra charge with your rental. One side of your private pier is included in your rental fee. Pier is left in until the end of October for some great fall fishing. Life jackets are supplied . Motorized pontoon boats and fishing boats may be rented at nearby (three buildings away) Reef Point Resort. They also have row boats, canoes, and additional paddle boats, for those looking to get some exercise.

It has Wi-Fi High Speed Internet, 3 TVs with cable, DVD Players, DVD library, 1 vhs player (no tapes though), book library, radio, board games, and a nautical theme throughout.

The home includes all dishes, utensils, linens, bedding, towels, life jackets, water floatation toys, games, Cinderella toy kitchen, toys.

There is also a frog sandbox and sand toys outside. They can entertain the kids for hours. Also there is a wagon, and upon request, a Little Tyke scooter and a car for the kids to use outside.

This home has a lakeside patio with adjustable height charcoal grill, 2 patio tables and chairs, etc.

Home is about 1900 square feet, (more than just a cottage), with central heat and air conditioning. One bedroom is huge with bay window overlooking the lake and a king size bed (probably a new queen bed replacing the king size in 2017) with memory foam top. The second upstairs bedroom has a queen size bed (plus a race car toddler bed) and large windows to enjoy the unobstructed lake views. Race car bed could also be moved to the bedroom with the king or new Queen) bed if you wish. The third bedroom is located on the main level with two twin beds and great lake views. There is also a full size futon on the first floor. There is a 'Porta Crib' for your youngest sweethearts.

There is very ample paved parking and a large rear grassy yard; lakeside fire pit for campfires; boat launch very nearby (at Reef Point Resort) and at Pike Lake State Park across the lake with a beach and great hiking trails (they have maps that tell you how long each route is).

No Smoking! No Cats!

The home you would be renting is the closest building to the lake. The lake side of the home is close to the waters edge, about 30 feet. Don't be fooled by some maps or GPS systems that make it seem far away . That happens because the lot is 397 feet deep and it shows the address as the spot at the road or the center of the lot and not where the house is. It is known as a premier fishing lake in /Southeastern WI and the fishing is great. On 7/14/14 the neighbor caught a 37 inch walleye. Even in winter there were over 50 ice fishing shanties at one time. You will love it here if you enjoy catching Walleyes, Bass, Pike, Northern, or pan fish. (Sept.2011 - A renter reported catching a 30 inch Nothhern from the pier in their first three hours there. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) helps out the fish population by stocking. The sun over the Lake and the colors of the sky are awsome on most days. You will probably also enjoy the beautiful fall color in late September and October with the trees at Pike lake State Park directly across the lake. I saw three deer last time I was on a short hike at the park.

Only 14 minutes to Erin Hills Golf Course - site of the 2017 US Open! Near other local great courses.

Only 20 minutes from Milwaukee with a world class zoo, Betty Brin Childrens Museum as well as Milwaukee Public Museum, Milwaukee Brewer baseball, art galleries, Brewery tours, Pabst mansion tours, Lake Michigan Lakefront and beachs, live theatre, comedy clubs, many ethnic festivals and the largest music fest in the USA - Summerfest, Wisconsin State Fair in early August, etc.

Property is about one hour from Madison, WI; an hour and a quarter from Appleton,WI; and less than two hours from Chicago. Close to Holy Hill Church, about 10 minutes.

A trip to Green Bay and Lambeau Field, home of the NFL Green Bay Packers is an easy day trip. Many enjoy shopping the quaint shops, winery and boutiques in Cedarburg, WI, about 35 minutes drive.

If you have ANY questions feel free to call, we are always happy to talk to rental prospects. We actually prefer to talk to you rather than just using e-mail so that we can tailor what is setup to best meet your needs.

Rates for holidays may have a separate Holiday charge please ask for quote.

Additional fees:

Pet fee per day $16 - Will only consider dogs

Cleaning fee is $109

Reservation/Security deposit of $ 400 on stays of a week or less. One third of rent is due with rental agreement (if you are renting the current year), with the remaining balance due two weeks prior to your arrival. If you are renting for a future year only a $400 deposit is required initially.

About Bonnie or Jerry Gellert

My wife Bonnie and I live on another lake about 20 minuites away and never get tired of peacefulness that being on a lake provides. We also enjoy the sunrises, ducks, loons and fish. We have many family members in the area and a farm that is still family run in nearby Allenton. Bonnie and I originally purchased this property to be our home but were unable to modify it to meet our needs because of governmental regulations.

Bonnie or Jerry Gellert purchased this house in 2007

Why Bonnie or Jerry Gellert chose Southeast

This property offers a walk-in sand beach that is very rare for the area, offers a much larger size than typical cottages so as not to feel cramped and caters to families and family gatherings. Winter offers snowmobile trails 300 feet away and ice fishing.

What makes this house unique

Across the Lake from Pike Lake State Park, large parking areas as well as a large yard, home is close to waters edge (about 30 feet away).

Above and beyond!

  • 5 of 5

I did not stay at this property, but it was my wallet that paid for the reservation. It was rather unfortunate, as the more I interacted with the owners and learned about the location, the more I wished I was booking the trip for myself! I can however, comment on the booking process and my fantastic experience dealing with Bonnie and Jerry.

My brother and his wife (from Chicago) were married back in October, and while they originally weren't intending on taking a honeymoon due to employment and financial concerns, I pulled some strings to make it happen. We decided to send them away on a surprise trip, after working behind the scenes to clear it with his boss (this was during their busy season, but he was fine with it). I must say, I couldn't have pulled it off without the help from Bonnie and Jerry!

The owners were incredibly accommodating, spending hours over the course of weeks talking to me on the phone about attractions in the area and little details we wanted to have sorted out ahead of time to make their stay special. Being from the east coast, it was a lot of work trying to coordinate this remotely, but Bonnie and Jerry really helped in so many ways and eased that burden. They even went to the local florist on my behalf, picked out a bouquet based on my requests, stocked a few special request items from the market, and arranged it all with a card I had sent out there along with my payment! When the newlyweds arrived at the home, they were greeted with a beautiful display that I couldn't possibly have accomplished on my own. They truly are great people and went above and beyond for us.

Many thanks to Bonnie and Jerry for helping to make this trip memorable for my brother and sister-in-law, I certainly appreciated it and I know they did as well! All the feedback I got from them was good, they definitely enjoyed their time there. So if you are considering a stay at this property, don't hesitate... Now I just need to get back out to the mid-west and book a weekend for myself!

Just Perfect...

  • 5 of 5

Just...wow. My husband and I joined our adult daughters, two "significant others" (8 adults total) and 2 small children for a 5 day vacation. We came from Appleton, WI and 3 of our daughters drove from Madison. It was the perfect distance for us all! The house is VERY spacious, and we never felt cramped. Several sitting areas, large bedrooms, and outdoor seating allowed us all quiet time to read or just enjoy the lake. Our little 2-year-old loved the beach, the sandbox (his favorite) and the race-car bed! There was a cabinet of toys, and we even found TUB TOYS in the upstairs bath!

We never even went out for a meal. The kitchen was perfect for all our needs...crock pot, blender, pots and pans...everything was there. Beds were comfortable! We moved the futon against the north wall dinette area and just left it as a bed the entire time. We used it for naps and babies. Admittedly, it was the least comfortable spot to sleep, but we took turns on it.

We rented a pontoon boat from a place just 2 door down, and had a blast one afternoon! Motored across the lake to the state park beach for a picnic. Funny...with Hartford being SO close, we never really ventured into town.

Our kids want to come back here...maybe make it an annual thing. My vote is yes!!

Amazing stay on the lake in Hartford

  • 5 of 5

Our small family of 3, along with auntie, cousins and grandma stopping by, had a wonderful stay here. The house was a perfect size for us and had plenty of room to spare. Situated right on the lake, there was plenty of room to run around in both the front and back yards. A very short drive to town, grocery and restaurants too. Will be back again!

Perfect for a family with kids

  • 5 of 5

We, my husband and I our 4 kids (8,5,3,1) and my parents had a wonderful time at this rental. It is very spacious, clean and comfortable. Bonnie and Jerry were easy to communicate with and always quick to return emails.

Plenty of outdoor seating as well as toys and books for the kids. The lake water was clean and the sand beach was perfect for the kids. Each day the kids were in their suits by 9am and in the water. So convenient!

Hartford if just a few minutes away and has plenty of places to eat and get groceries. We also visited a fun old fashion candy/ice cream shop 3 times and toured a beautiful basilica just outside of Hartford.

Beautiful location for a holiday trip

  • 5 of 5

Charming home located on the banks of Pike Lake. We loved the spaciousness of the property and enjoyed the fully equipped kitchen and all of the amenities offered by the owners, Jerry & Bonnie. I especially appreciated the cleanliness and all of your homey touches (thank you for the flowers and for shoveling the walkways)! We will absolutely return and rent this unit again.

Great Fall Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here for a weekend with friends and had a nice time. House was clean and cozy. Beds were comfortable. Only things we could have used was a larger non-stick pan in the kitchen, some baggies and a dishwasher. Thanks for a great weekend!

Owner's Response: Malissa Thanks for taking the time to write a review. We are sorry we did not meet all your expectations. Sorry you didn't find the two large non stick pans and crock pot in the cabinet located in the hallway adjacent to the kitchen. That probably means you didn't find all the games located in the same cabinet. It is nice to be able to meet our guests and give them a tour so they know where everything is. We will try to make a point to keep baggies on hand. Bonnie & Jerry
