This was a great property! Our family of four stayed and had more than enough room. Went to the beach everyday and fished off the dock at night. Did take a fishing charter out of the Gulf Shore Marina on the Southern Striker and had a blast with Capt Robert. Some fun places to eat are the Flora Bama Yacht Club, LuLus, Tacky Jacks 2, Sassy Bass. Also walked across the street to the Beach Club that has entertainment for kids and adults on the lawn every night. Went to the movies on one rainy morning. We enjoyed cooking at the house also. Caught a few crabs off the dock and cooked them along with the mackerel we caught on the charter. The house has everything you need to make your stay fun!! Troy and crew were very helpful with everything. Thanks for renting the house out to us. Best vacation ever!!

Two families, ONE GREAT TIME! We had 6 kids ranging from 9-17 and they all had a great time on the pier fishing (no big fish but lots of little ones); tons of crabs- several made it to the shrimp boil and swimming of the swim deck. The house is better than the pictures show and is described. Sitting out on the deck and watching the sunrise and sunsets was beautiful.

Troy answers all questions you have quickly and is helpful if needed. Everyone had fun and seeing the dolphins right off the pier was an added bonus. They were within 20 feet of us! :)

We went to the beach across the street as well. Amazing as well. Thanks for an amazing time Troy and I cannot wait for us to come back again! This is one of those places you want to keep a secret!

Family Fun

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a relaxing place where we could fish and crab to our hearts content and this was it! This is a family home and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. The crabs were plentiful, the fishing was fun and our boys age 6 and 8 enjoyed swimming right off the dock. The downstairs bathroom was great for the little guys. Really enjoyed our week at this house!

The pictures tell the story. Waterfront fun!!!

We looked and looked to find a reasonably priced house on the bay for our family vacation. Based on the pictures and the description we booked this house. We couldn't have been happier. It was just as described. Troy was very easy to deal with and the vacation was all that we could have hoped for.

Here are a few of the things we liked the most...

> Right on the water.

> Private dock. We didn't catch any keepers but lots of smaller fish and some crabs.

> Quiet location

> Very kid-friendly. They played on the dock until the wee hours and we could watch them from the house.

> House is well stocked with the basics such as linens, cleaning supplies, cookware and utensils

> Lots of extras include inflatables, ice machine, a charcoal grill, fishing gear and dip nets

> The house is very clean and in good repair

> The extra bedroom downstairs was perfect for our 21 year old who wanted a little space to himself

> The whole house, including the downstairs bedroom and even the downstairs bathroom, is very well air conditioned

> The downstairs deck area is handy and comfortable

> Location. It's about 15 minutes from Fort Morgan and 15 minutes from the Hangout

> Fast, free wifi

> TVs with Dish Network (including HBO) in the living room and every bedroom including downstairs

Yes, the house is a little off the beaten path, it's not on the Gulf and it's not a new luxury condo. If that's what you want look elsewhere. It is, however, big and clean and a great base of operations for salt and sun and fun.

A few tips:

Bring extra trash bags, laundry detergent, dish machine detergent, etc. You'll have enough to get started but not for the whole week.

There is a killer condo literally just across the street. If you can get a pass (talk to Troy) you'll have unlimited access to a pool and a beautiful white beach where they have showers, jet skis, para sailing, etc.

Go past the house toward Fort Morgan. Just before the entrance there is a road to the left that goes to the beach. The road turns bad so if you're in a car park early, if you've got a 4x4 you can drive to the end. The beach is great and uncrowded and has good fishing.

If you haven't been there take the time to go to the Hangout. It's easy and loud and fun and the kids will love it.

Bring a cast net and a bait net (I recommend a 4'x25' minnow seine to start) and take them to the beach. You'll draw a crowd of kids when you bring in dozens of little (and maybe not so little) fish.
