The Beach House was prrfect for a family of 5. Very clean and everything you Need was in, especially a very well equiped kitchen. The contact to the owner John and Sue was very helpful and friendly. We would like to come back again.

Lovely property and wonderful owners.

  • 3 of 5

We had a good stay with grandchildren despite the smoke pall from the forest fires.

The house was immaculately clean which we really appreciated. Dishes and towels were plentiful. We especially enjoyed the broad lawn for the children to play on and it was very easy to watch them from the balcony. The views were lovely. John and sue were delightful and helpful. Even though the houses are side by side we did not feel uncomfortable. The hot tub was greatly enjoyed.

However.....and this is a big however. We had no idea from the website nor from previous reviews that the cottage was steps from the old Island Highway. That in itself would have been ok but the resulting traffic noise really was disturbing, especially the preponderance of accelerating motorcycles. The noise was present day and into the night, making it difficult to feel that we were "away" on a restful quiet holiday.

I have hesitated to write a review because the owners are so hospitable.

Unfortunately, the noise of traffic will keep us from returning.

Owner's Response: Hi Darlene, Thank you for your review. It was really nice to meet you and your family and we are delighted you enjoyed your stay at the Beach House. We were disappointed with your comments about the road noise, we have received 89 reviews in the past 6 years and you are the first to mention it, in fact a large number of the reviews mention how lovely and quite it is. Kind regards, John and Sue

Fantastic property with a great grass yard next to the ocean

  • 5 of 5

The accommodations were perfect for us - 2 couples and a toddler. Everything we needed. The grassy area was flat and great for playing with a soccer ball. The deck was great to sit and look at the water. John and Sue were great hosts.

Island Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the guesthouse was very nice!! Sitting out on the deck everyday and enjoying the view was great! The beach was fun to explore but we didn't brave swimming in the ocean lol. The house is a tad close to the owners property but is still private. The owners were away during our stay so we had a nice sense of privacy.

Highley recommend making this place a ground zero while you explore the island. We hit up Stotan Falls which is close by a d it was gorgeous!!!

Thanks for the great stay!!;

Great property and location

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time at the Buckley Bay Beach House. Well kept guest house on a fairly private property (Neighbors' firepit reaching in front of property takes away a bit). Great location on the island, about 30 minutes from several great sites including trails, beaches, waterfalls, towns, and golf! Well stocked kitchen. Nice to have rooms and bathrooms on separate floors. John answered questions promptly and was very helpful. Would come back or recommend.
