ASHEVILLE, NC

Downtown Asheville is 20 minutes from house (maps available). Downtown Asheville is an extremely popular tourist destination. Lots of great food, beverages and people-watching. Local flavor makes downtown seem like a great big open-aired mall with street musicians. Antique stores galore. Specialty shops, import/export, ethnic, and unique apparel shops. Mast General Store, Tops For Shoes(a woman's paradise), and the Thomas Wolfe House,to name a few interesting destinations. Festivals from small--like Goombay, a local African-American street fest, to huge--like Bele Chere, where the entire downtown area turns into a venue for fun. Fall (i.e. leaf festivals), is a very popular time for tourists. When the leaves begin to turn colors, the entire surrounding mountains become golden yellow, red, & orange. Great time to get in some hikes to see the wonderful views up close.

BILTMORE ESTATE

Premier destination for most visitors. The Biltmore Estate and Winery, where the largest mansion in North America resides--tours daily. Many folks spend days on the Estate exploring the many things to do there. Restaurants, horses, trails, 4-wheel drive track, gardens, hotel and winery with tastings and tours. The estate starts its Christmas wonderland as of Nov. 1st. Every room is decorated for the period of the time. The Christmas at the Biltmore is a 'must see' event.

BREVARD AND HENDERSONVILLE

Both these communities are popular destinations. Hendersonville is known for its apple orchards, picking and festival. Brevard is located right next to the Pisgah National Forest and the lush Davidson River Valler where Sliding Rock and Looking Glass Falls are located. Brevard is also know for its music school and local performances. Both of these towns have vibrant downtown areas with many shops and restaurants.

OTHER POPULAR DESTINATIONS

The Folk Arts Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway, The illustrious Grove Park Inn, Several farmer’s markets, Mt. Mitchell, Mt. Pisgah, Grandfather Mountain, Cold Mountain, Tobacco Barn Antiques, Lake Lure recreational destination, Linville Gorge, Bat Cave, and so much more!

A home away from home with special touches.

  • 5 of 5

The house of Vicky Grant was more than expected. Very clean, organized, with special notices and info that was helpful. Our family enjoyed the fire pit, grill, screened porch, and all the kitchen utensils. We highly recommend this house and its locale. Easy to get to breweries, Biltmore, Ashville, and other attractions. Greg

In Town For Asheville Lions Club Horse Show

  • 5 of 5

Excellent home and host! Perfect location for our weekend at WNC Ag Center for the horse show, with easy access and close proximity to Asheville. The layout was perfect for our family as the grand parents took the master BR while my wife and I and our teenage daughter had plenty of room on the second floor. We enjoyed coffee in the morning and happy hour in the afternoon out on the great screened in porch. Wonderful weekend and look forward to staying again!

Family Thanksgiving

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in the Fletcher house so much. Our family gathered there for Thanksgiving and there was plenty of room for all of us. Everything was beautiful and very clean. We cooked a full meal and the kitchen was well equipped. The weather was great so we were able to enjoy the gorgeous screened in porch as well. We couldn't ask for a better location. The master suite was beautiful. We also loved the big tv in the loft. Everything was absolutely wonderful and we hope to come again.

Awesome House close to Asheville

  • 5 of 5

We so enjoyed our stay at the Fletcher House. The upstairs has two bedrooms, one bathroom, Den area with TV and good sized deck. The downstairs has the master, master bath, kitchen living room and screened in porch. This really gives you the chance to have some privacy when with a group! We were there for my daughter's 16 birthday and it couldn't have been any better. Sierra Nevada is only 2 miles away. Great place to hang out! The fire pit was a big hit and we used it every night! Great location to go to Asheville, Hiking, etc. Everyone was happy in this house. I hope we have the chance to go back soon!!

The Best

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I recently spent a long weekend in the Asheville area and were fortunate to be able to stay in the Fletcher house. We have stayed in several VRBO's and this has been our best overall experience by far.

This home is the perfect home away from home. Vicky, the owner, makes sure you have everything and anything you could wish for. As the pictures show, the house is beautifully and comfortably

decorated. The pictures don't show the spacious master bathroom, complete with large walk in tiled shower, granite countertops, and double raised basin sinks. And the whole house is "squeaky" clean.

Other features to make your stay a memorable one are the attached screened porch with plenty of comfy seating and a table for outside dining, stone patio with a fire pit that is perfect for roasting marshmallows, and a fully equipped kitchen.

The location is perfect, too. It takes just minutes to drive to shopping, downtown Asheville, restaurants ranging from casual to over the top, Biltmore, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and just about anywhere else you would want to go. My husband also discovered, with Vicky's help, a golf course less than two miles away.

Again, this house is perfect. You will not be disappointed.

perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed the Fletcher house with family for a long weekend- great location central to the Hendersonville/Asheville area. We enjoyed cooking in- the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed- the house perfectly set up for a family gathering. The fire pit was awesome- and Vicky has a cord of seasoned wood ready for you to use steps away. So many special touches thoughout the house coupled with the ease to travel throughout the area make this a repeat in our book!
