We enjoyed the rustic serenity.

We had a great stay at the Beverly cabin. The house was clean and comfortable. We would have enjoyed television service but the video collection was enjoyable.

Fantastic getaway

  • 5 of 5

We came for the Watershed country music festival. It was 100 degrees each day and we brought inner tubes and floated the river each day. Very private and we tied up to a post on the waterfront. Golf at the Desert Aire course was also a fun time and the people were very friendly. The owner, Dick Cameron was responsive and accommodating as always.. we enjoyed our time and hope to be back again next year.

Needs some TLC but served its purpose!

  • 3 of 5

The owner of this rental is very nice and very responsive! The house needs a bit of deep cleaning and repairs but had everything we needed as far as kitchen utensils etc. We had our 5 year old and just a warning, the back "yard" is not safe for young kids. If you are just needing a place to sleep this is perfect! If youre looking for something more than that I would look elsewhere. Overall a good experience though.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review, I have forward your response to our cleaning person. She has been with us three years and we've always received good reviews on her work which gives me concern. You mentioned some repairs. What things did you see that needed repairing? I am completely dependent on the locals to get things done on the cabin due to the fact that I have been battling cancer for the past year andhaven't been able to there to review it myself.

Love this place!

  • 5 of 5

Second time staying here at the cabin. So much fun, love the ambiance and the extensive VHS collection, I'd recommend speed and waterworld as a double feature. Back when Kevin Costner and Keanu reeves were at the peak of their career, you can't beat it. The walk from the river to the cabin can be a little tricky after excessive alcohol consumption so take that into consideration and plan accordingly.

Be sure to bring some good company and go to tool show at the gorge while you are here; also highly recommended. If you happen to. E here on a Saturday, head south into the town of mattawa to the swap meet and get yourself some of the best tacos that side of the Columbia! Also a very fine selection of bootleg dvds, VHS, and whatever you can think of.

The only downfall I guess was that the water never really got warm for showers or dishes. Our crew is pretty hardcore so we didn't mind that, and took the cold shower. Can't wait to come again!

Love this cabin

  • 5 of 5

We golfed down at the Desert Aire resort a couple of times. The people and the course were simply wonderful. We also attended the Sasquatch festival for three days. The cabin is perfectly located close to many great activities but far enough away to feel like you are peacefully away from it all. Cabin is wonderfully appointed with everything that you could need and is right on the river. Dick is attentive and fast to respond to everything we need. Thanks again Dick for another fantastic vacation. We think of your place as our secret little get away.

Great getaway from the city

  • 5 of 5

Imagine the setting for next Macklemore video: 90's paraphernalia aplenty, VHS tapes, overstuffed chairs, hunting trophies, and real wood paneling encapsulate this cozy space. Nestled next to the Columbia River with a gorgeous view overlooking the colorful bluffs and the sounds of nature rushing by. Everything you could need is neatly packed into this comfortable space. Clean, quiet, and an abandoned in-ground pool.
