About the Property
Centrally located 1 bedroom apartment
The garden is maintained for year round color and vibrancy. The two Adirondack chairs in the front yard can be enjoyed when Seattle's liquid sunshine takes a break. At the same time you are welcome to enjoy your dinner on the back patio.
Or take a picnic to Green Lake park. The house is located within blocks of the North Green Lake hub of businesses, restaurants, and cafes. And only a few walkable blocks from the Lake, one of Seattle's public libraries and the Seattle bathhouse theater.
The unit is amply supplied with things to make this your home away from home. A full sized kitchen with all the appliances and utensils you need to cook dinner or make breakfast. There is a burr grinder next to the coffee pot for you to bring your own coffee beans, or buy some local roast to brew during your stay.
The bedroom sleeps two comfortably on a queen-sized mattress. Out in the living room there is room for a twin sized air mattress (supplied) if you have three in your party. More than that and the apartment will be too crowded.
Laundry facilities are available on site and easily accessed from the apartment.
A blue-ray DVD player, HDTV and cable channels are available for your entertainment, as well as some board games or if the owners are home we welcome a chance to get to know you over a beverage.
There is plenty of free and safe parking on the street if you have a car and the unit is only a few blocks from several bus routes.
One block from the house is bus route 26 where the southbound bus will take you through the Wallingford neighborhood to Seattle Center (home of the famous Space Needle) then to downtown Seattle and ends at the ferry terminal - northbound to North Seattle College and Northgate mall. If you are here on business the 316 express bus gets you downtown during morning rush hours in 20 minutes!
Three blocks from the house you can catch the 45 to the University of Washington or to the new University Link light rail station. You can also catch the 62, which goes east to Magnuson park and the NOAA campus or south through the neighborhoods to downtown.
Seattle Pacific University at 4 miles from the unit is a short 10-minute drive away.
If you are missing something just knock on the door upstairs and I will see if I have it. Since the duplex is owner occupied, you have an instant neighbor to call on if you have any questions or needs.
This unit strives to be free of all synthetic fragrances and allergen free (although we do have cats upstairs). Candles, incense, air fresheners or any other synthetic fragrance are not welcome in the apartment at any time. A hepa-filter vacuum is located in the unit.
You are welcome to open the windows at any time. :)

Green lake is the most visited city park in Washington state. It is a recreation destination with a 2.8 mile paved loop, bathhouse theater, boat rentals including stand-up paddle boards, and community center that houses a beautiful indoor pool. There are many cafes featuring locally roasted coffees within walking distance from the rental. Plus, you are walking distance (3-5 blocks) to many restaurants as well as a few bars that have great happy hours and feature many NW brews.
Green lake is also a central location to get to many other activities. 15 minutes or less to downtown Seattle via I5 or highway 99, you can get to Seattle Center to visit the space needle or hop a ferry to explore the Olympic peninsula. If you are headed to the University of Washington, it is a short drive or hop a bus.

About the owner: I grew up in Chicago, and studied to be a Marine Biologist. I value city living and I value nature. I love the amenities available in the city, but I also love the quite of nature. I have lived in Seattle for almost 20 years and love how it has grown into a city that serves as a model for recycling waste, growing or harvesting sustainable farmed or wild foods, neighborhood farmers markets, top-notch restaurants, diverse cafes and abundant public spaces. Within the same day you can experience the chaos of the city or the serenity of nature. Few places in the world can offer this diversity. This is why I call Seattle home.
Why the Owner Chose Northwest Seattle, Seattle, WA, USA:
I bought this property because of it's location in the best Seattle neighborhood, Green Lake. It has a park-like setting, yet it has easy access to I5 and highway 99 to take advantage of the rest of the city or drive up to Vancouver B.C., down to Portland or across the mountains to Washington's wine country near Yakima. The house sits on a cul-de-sac, where a staircase at the end of the road takes you down towards Green Lake park and many restaurants, cafes, bars, yoga studio and more. The house is 100 years old (1916) and I have extensively remodeled and updated both units. The house is my home too. I live in the upstairs unit and am available to give recommendations on what to do and where to go.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
There is a zen sitting area in the front yard with two Adirondack chairs and a lovely patio in the back with a BBQ. Great places to have your morning coffee or evening meal when the weather is just right.
