A DAY IN THE LIFE AT PRINCEVILLE

Start your morning with a barefoot stroll along the surf at Anini Beach, just a short walk from your townhouse, and feel the warm white sand between your toes. In the Spring you might see a Humpback Whale or two breaching offshore, and you’ll see Hawaiian Sea Turtles most anytime of the year. Finish your walk with a dip in the warm waters of the Pacific or swim in the pool at Puamana.

Enjoy breakfast while gazing at the ocean from your lanai. The menu includes fresh apple bananas, papaya, and mangos from the Farmer’s Market.

I first came to Hawaii in 1973 and fell immediately in love. I started a business on Oahu and later lived on Maui for 8 years. I retired 17 years ago and began traveling. I am now a full time world traveler but always return to the islands when I circle around to this part of the globe. Why Roy Bruder chose North Shore

I have traveled the world and been on hundreds of islands, and there is no tropical island more beautiful than Kauai's North Shore. Hanalei is a timeless and authentic Hawaiian town and Hanalei Bay is a true Polynesian setting with a perfect beach and a gentle sea surrounded by verdant mountains. Staying in Princeville gives you best of both worlds. You are a few minutes from Hanalei yet high on a ridge overlooking the ocean with cooling breezes and great sunsets in the comfort of a secure development. There is a full service supermarket within a short walk as well as numerous restaurants and shops. I don't even bother renting a car when I'm here. There is a bus stop just a short walk away which will get you most places on the island. And, it isn't bad living so close to the beach.

What makes this condo unique

I looked at dozens of condos in Princeville and 12B attracted me immediately. The townhouse still had all the original kitchen and bath cabinets and fixtures so I knew it would require a major remodeling project, but the quiet and private setting on the golf course coupled with a beautiful ocean view sealed the deal for me. It was so bright and airy where others seemed cramped and dark. A $90,000 remodel was completed in December 2012.

The place was so clean, inviting, and well stocked!!

We had so much fun on the beautiful island and didn't have to worry about packing extras like soap, shampoo, laundry detergent. Questions were answered very promptly. We loved it!!! Absolutely beautiful and relaxing!

A gem that pleases

As first time Kauai visitors but seasoned enough travelers with only carry-on luggage, my family and I were prepared to rough it out a little, based on past vacation rental experiences. This rental made that unnecessary. Clean, with conveniences and well-stocked amenities including thoughtful touches such as shampoo, body gel soap, laundry detergent, dish washing liquids, paper towels, food plastic bags, basic kitchen necessities and other stuff you think you'd need to purchase for any vacation rental, this unit felt like home away from home. Owner Roy Bruder is thorough, courteous, friendly and professional. We had little concerns and all the precious time spent was focused on enjoying our vacation and making new family memories. I recommended this rental to my friends, many of whom were impressed by its photos.

Perfect location

If you don't want the "touristy" feel, this side of the island is ideal. Condo is fully equipped and clean. Would recommend this condo and side of the island to anyone! Weather says rainier than the other, but we had great weather most days and didn't stop us from kayaking, hiking, tubing, zip lining!

Kaua'i Vacation

We had a wonderful vacation at Roy’s Puamana condo. Quiet and peaceful, very clean, nice décor, very spacious feeling, especially with the master bedroom loft (also has a TV) that overlooks the main room/kitchen/dining room. The loft has a nice lanai (patio) that overlooks the condo complex grounds. Plenty of linens and towels. Great kitchen - well stocked with lots of dishes, cookware, glasses, paper goods, a pantry stocked with essential spices/cooking oil. Convenient washer/dryer in the condo, too. Roy has a great supply of beach chairs, umbrellas, ice chests, beach towels…so ono (good!) and saved us from having to purchase these important items for the beach! Be sure to read Roy’s booklet highlighting great information of the condo and places to see in Kaua’I – activities, restaurants, sightseeing, etc.

Cooked breakfast each day and relaxed with freshly brewed coffee while planning the day's event. Packed lunches for the beaches (went to Anini and Tunnels beaches - good snorkeling beaches). Had dinner and drinks at the Westin Resort just a 5-minute walk down the street. Checked out the Happy Talk Bar/Restaurant (9 big screen TVs) and St. Regis Resort, Hideaways Pizza Pub…had dinner and drinks as well…driving time within minutes of the condo. Hanalei is a fun place to go to for activities, shopping, and more restaurants, too.

The weather was very good to us during our stay and we were able to watch some incredible sunrises and sunsets.

It is so important to be satisfied with your lodging accommodations and staying here was very nice indeed. Mahalo nui loa, Roy, for maintaining a well-kept condo and the feeling of Aloha spirit!

Amazing condo in spectacular location

Roy's condo is located very close to the entrance to Princeville so you can avoid the labyrinth of Princeville twists and turns. It is perfect. Very clean and all the appliances work wonderfully! It is very well equipped down to the scissors and masking tape for mailing all your excess Kauai purchases home in a box! The Princeville shops are a short, beautiful 10 minute walk away. There you can find a fairly empty post office and lots of nice little restaurants and great shopping, as well as a large supermarket. The beach is a ten minute walk down a fairly steep hillside which we thoroughly enjoyed each day. The path takes you to the north end of Anini beach. The beach is virtually empty and provides wonderful snorkeling in a shallow, protected reef area. Five minutes by car is beautiful Hanalei town, with its funky shops and fun bars and restaurants, not to mention the long, gorgeous Hanalei beach. Roy's condo provided us with spare flippers, snorkel masks, beach chairs, coolers and I even found a walking stick in the closet which I had missed on my first go around. You will wake up to the sounds of all kinds of birds and of course the eternal rooster calls of Kauai, but you will love it! The neighbors are quiet and friendly so we did not have to suffer any all night parties. No air conditioning is necessary as the trade winds cooled the place off each night. We needed blankets! Roy was very quick to respond to any of my questions and gave clear and accurate instructions, along with a thorough informative book with tv on/off information, restaurant and sights. He also provided us with a copy of the Ultimate Kauai Guidebook which we thoroughly appreciated. No problems with this rental at all. I would stay there for a month were it not for the fact that I have to work. Thank you Roy!

Great condo and location!

Condo was as advertised and we would definitely stay there again. What we didn't realize was how close it was to the Westin hotel which was really cool because we walked around their beautiful property quite a few times. Condo is not really 2 bedrooms though...it is one bedroom with a very large loft that is open to the down stairs, that has a king size bed in it. If you're looking for 2 rooms that have doors that close, this condo will not work for you. Everything else was amazing and a few weeks later I'm still dreaming of Kauai! We were very sad to leave.
