Why Craig Stien chose Powell

There is spectacular hiking or biking right out the door, and a private dock for your use. The trail system has areas of old growth virgin timber and overlooks of the surrounding wilderness. Saux Head Lake is a low impact lake with minimal boating activity, no public access, and good fishing for Bass and Pike.

What makes this house unique

This is an ideal location to visit historic Big Bay to the north, and Marquette to the south with its summer events, festivals, museums, and fine dining. There are also several remote waterfalls within 30 minutes drive.

Great cabin on a nice lake

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be visiting again! The cabin was great. Very quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to town if you need to run to the store or go somewhere for dinner. Canoeing on the lake was great. Craig was a great host as well. He came over and made sure we were settled, explained the area to us and gave some recommendations on places to go and things to do. Only rated four stars because the trees have grown up a bit so the view of the lake isn't quite as good as the picture shows, but is still nice. Also, the sofa in the living room is really old and uncomfortable and needs to be replaced. If not for those two minor items, would easily have been five stars. Staying here made for a great vacation. See you again next year!

In the Woods

  • 4 of 5

Very secluded place, quiet and as described. Had an Osprey land in the trees just off the deck 3 days in a row. Only down side was furniture in the living room is not very comfortable. Would recommend otherwise.

spotless, great rental

  • 5 of 5

This was a great house to rent. Location waas great, a challenge to turn the shower on but a fun puzzle. We only had one complaint. There was no where to sit in the living room that was comfortable, lots of worn out furniture.

Love this place!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a fantastic time here. The house is perfect and set up completely for a comfortable stay and is very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed the lake, beautiful scenery, and all the hiking and fishing of the area.

The house was especially nice for us, traveling with a 1 yr old and 3 yr old. It was easily child proofed, great crib and toddler bed and even had toys! The little ones were thrilled
