About Elizabeth DesChamps

I have been a resident of Pawleys Island for 24 years, and lived in Myrtle Beach for 11 years before Pawleys. Have raised 3 children in the area, and am very familiar with the surroundings.

Elizabeth DesChamps purchased this condo in 2004

Why Elizabeth DesChamps chose Pawleys Island

I purchased this property so that my uncle and my dad could enjoy coming to the beach to see my family and enjoy relaxing. Their home was in NC, where I grew up. They have both passed away in recent years, so I would like to offer the unit to others to enjoy.

What makes this condo unique

This unit has a very open, welcoming feel to it. The decor is comfortable and family friendly. The kitchen is open and airy. Wooden blinds on the windows provide privacy. The lake with fishing and rocking chairs is just around the corner, and the marsh view gives this unit a peaceful feeling. Enjoy walking on the paths, swimming in the pool, and the beautiful SC beach. Golf carts are available from local shop (with delivery), as well as bicycles.

Sea Treasure!

  • 5 of 5

I don't think I can say enough nice things about this Marsh Hawk property! From the moment we pulled up right in front of this well appointed condo we knew we had found a sea treasure! Parking was right outside the five or six steps to the front stoop of this property. Upon entering we found a bottle of wine, cookies, and an immaculate and well appointed home. The three large bedrooms provided plenty of private space for our party of 6. The master bedroom and bath are expansive. While we have stayed in many VRBO's we have never encountered one that made so many extra towels, pillows, blankets, and sheets available. While we didn't need them the owner also supplied two beach chairs, a grill, and other extra amenities that one doesn't usually encounter at a rental. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to create an entire Easter dinner during our stay...there were even cloves for the ham in the cabinet! In anticipation I took my own aluminum foil and Tupperware, but was pleasantly surprised to find both available. The beach was less than a 5 minute drive (or an easy walk) away. The beach access has a circle in which you can unload passengers and supplies before you park the car. The pavilion offers tables and chairs, clean bathrooms, and covered areas, for those who don't want to feel the sand in their shoes. For those who do venture to the ocean they will find a very clean beach, not too overly crowded (even during Easter week), and showers and hoses for getting the sand off of themselves and their chairs before returning to their car. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this home. There are advantages to renting from owners who live close and oversee the upkeep of their property. On top of that I have NEVER before been in a beach house for a week without seeing a single bug! Thanks for sharing your Sea Treasure with us!

Private, quiet and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

I would highly recommend this home and larger community to other vacation travelers looking to get way but still have all the comforts of home. The owners were very accommodating and friendly. We had 5 people in our party, and there was plenty of room for all. Litchfield by the Sea is a family friendly community-beautiful beach access and parking, tennis courts, pools and lots of walking trails. Highly recommend.

Wonderful Place

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed here for a week, and it was marvelous! When we arrived the owner had left us a bottle of wine and cookies from a local bakery. That was so thoughtful! The condo was spotless and spacious. We particularly enjoyed sitting out on the screened in porch. We rented a golf cart and the company delivered it to the resort. The resort grounds were beautiful. The ocean was a very close golf cart ride away. My 86 year old Memaw stayed with us. She has a hard time getting around, but this condo was the perfect place for her. It was on the bottom level and only a few steps up to the door. She had an easy time getting in and out of the walk in shower. My mom enjoyed the large variety of books. The men in the family enjoyed all of the tv options (though we didn't spend much time watching tv). This place was so peaceful and relaxing. The owner responded so fast to us and was a joy to work with. We will definitely stay here again!

Quiet and clean

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed here and I was so impressed w the cleanliness, spaciousness, and peacefulness of the condo. The screened porch was perfect for an afternoon cocktail and you are in complete privacy, overlooking the marsh. Just a short 10 minute walk down the sidewalk to the beach , and the private pool was cool and nobody hardly was there. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you Elizabeth for the hospitality!

Wonderful stay!

  • 5 of 5

I've been coming to Pawleys and Litchfield my whole life and was very pleased with our stay in this Marsh Hawk unit. We loved sitting out back and watching birds fly into the marsh. The whole place was very clean, the beds were comfy, and there were plenty of towels. My husband and I shared the master suite and have never stayed in such a nice room while on a family trip to the beach! We used the pool several times, which was just a building away and had shade and sun all day. It was also usually quiet, which we appreciated. One of my friends loved running within Litchfield By the Sea.

We usually drove to the beach because it is a bit of a walk and my mom has had knee replacement. It's a beautiful walk though because you go past the marsh and a man made lake. We saw tons of birds and an alligator! The other perk of staying within Litchfield By the Sea is that you can park close and take a ramp all the way to the beach. This was helpful for my mom. Oh! And there are only 3-4 stairs to get into this unit and then it's all on one floor. We've never had an A/C work so well or found a house so clean. Thank you so much! We will be back!
