Why Sharon Crossett chose Blue Ridge Mountains

We searched for almost 20 years all over N.C. for the property that met our criteria...

Great views...private location... (Elevation )seasonal changes...unique character...

This home has been a WIP for a number of years! We have made many improvements. So we are finally getting where we can say it is almost 'done'.

We take so much pride in this cabin and our family has worked so hard to make this a really unique place to escape to! It has a 'soul' it 'calls' us all of the time, we wish we could answer more often!

We hope you will come visit and enjoy it as much as we do!

California Native in Love with Silverstone Cabin!!!!

  • 5 of 5

I drove across from Agoura Hills,CA to stay at the cabin with some friends to attend a wedding in Blowing Rock. The drive was around 36 hours total(I took 2 days, around 18 hours a day), anyway, the first thing I did when I got there was to sit on that AMAZING porch. I thought where I was from had a great mountain view, this place was spectacular. The house itself was beautiful, wood and log trimming everywhere, hot tub, open kitchen, did I mention the porch? Huge porch, the house was clean, and also very well taken care of, oh and natural spring water runs into the house as well. We all really enjoyed hiking the woods behind the house, and enjoyed the waterfall that's on the property as well. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, the owners were friendly and answered all of our question, and the stay was wonderful. I am already planing another visit to the cabin for next summer!!

The views were incredible! Loved having a large wrap around balcony.

  • 4 of 5

We were grateful that we took our pickup as the mountain drive up is very steep. The store is some distance away so taking necessary items initially is a good idea.

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed the views we are fortunate to have right in our 'backyard'! The deck is the perfect vantage point to see layers of mountains!! Guests can gather around the outdoor dining table for six and enjoy a meal with a view. They also like taking in the scenery relaxing in the hot tub on the other side of the deck. Having a unique and very private location such as ours does require guests to turn off of our paved street onto a gravel driveway that has some elevation for a short time driving to the cabin..smaller vehicles don't have issues,VW Beetles travel just fine! (Winter weather, however, it is best to travel in the mountains with a 4 WD/ Front wheel drive when it snows!) Great Shopping and Dining is an easy drive (straight shot on Hwy 421 to Downtown, or you can take Hwy 105 also.) Boone is 8 miles from the cabin.

Perfect July 4th!!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was perfect for our extended July 4th weekend. We drove down from D.C, and we ALWAYS come to NC for our mountain vacation. We have stayed in Brevard, Blowing Rock, and a couple of other places around Boone, but this cabin has definitely been our favorite by miles. Very secluded location, lovely hiking on the property, view is astonishing, cozy cabin, and a very convenient drive into town. The owner was wonderful, and my family cant wait to come back.

Owner's Response: Thank so much! Families enjoy our cabin because there are nice gathering places like the expansive deck where you can eat at the dining table while enjoying the views, and a side yard for kids to play in while the adults enjoy grilling out by the waterfall. Inside the home offers a spacious living area, open to the kitchen and adjacent to the deck. Or you can enjoy some private quiet time reading a book in the nook (loft bedroom) or upper balcony. There is a lot of acreage to appreciate the sights and sounds of nature on a long walk. Many things to do/places to eat in Boone, just 8 miles away. We look forward to having you all return soon!

Special birthday weekend

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were recently here for my 60th birthday celebration. We loved it! It is very secluded and private, with astounding views (and for me, it's all about the views). The cabin is very cozy and clean, and the decorating very rustic with lots of local artisan touches. We took in Boone, Blowing Rock, Linville Falls, and a beautiful drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway, stopping for several hikes, and a lovely picnic overlooking the mountain range . Doesn't get any better than that! All of this within an easy 30-40 min drive from the cabin. Amazing!! What a great place to get away from the rat race and breath in the beauty! Thank you sweet sister, for the best birthday. Love you to the moon...

And last, but not least, thank you Sharon for your prompt attention to all of our needs while there....and the bottle of champagne. Cheers!!

The pictures do not to the view justice! This cabin was perfect for a girls getaway in the mountains! Close to Boone and many other attractions and great location for anyone hoping to enjoy a day of hiking. The cabin itself was beautiful with amazing views from both decks and a nice fire pit to enjoy the evening by. The home owner was incredible, very helpful and responsive for any and all needs! I would strongly recommend this rental to anyone visiting the area, we will absolutely be back.

' Silverstone Cabin' has the most extraordinary views and it's unique location is so convenient to many local attractions! Watch the seasons change! Our chalet can be enjoyed all year long!

We call it our Slice of Paradise!

Spring & Summer days can be spent on the over-sized deck taking in the view of layers of mountains and the tranquil sounds of the waterfall & creek near the house or go for a hike around the 22 acres surrounding the property. We think we have the best views in the area...

For the more adventurous, spend the day hiking, fishing, white water rafting, ziplining, skiiing or horseback riding.

Our guests love walking around the towns of Boone & Blowing Rock. They have much to offer... great restaurants, sight-seeing, shopping. (Outlet Shopping in Blowing Rock) There is always a local festival going on somewhere close by. The locals are some of the most friendly, laid back people you will ever meet!

Experience beautiful mountain colors in the Fall driving the Blue Ridge Parkway or from the deck.

We have a blast skiing in the Winter months at nearby resorts: Sugar Mt. Appalachian, Beech Mt.,@ Hawksnest (tubing)! You can see (long range view) of Sugar Mt.& Beech Mt. night ski runs from the deck.
