My family and I had an wonderful vacation at this very special place. As advertised, it was away from the hustle and bustle yet close to all the amenities. Located in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of room for the dogs to stretch their legs without disturbing anyone. I was enchanted by the authentic architecture - the stonework and timber framing are spectacular. We found it well maintained, perfectly clean, and very comfortable. It was a delight to use the well equipped kitchen for cooking and dining, much better than the typical vacation home fare. In addition, the owner is super nice and accommodating and easy to work with. Lots of light and lovely all around!
I brought my family over the holidays to go skiing and relax and stayed at this chalet. This home is nice, not huge, but very comfortable. The fireplace is gorgeous and we cooked most of our meals in the well-equipped kitchen. Everything worked as advertised. Rooms were comfortable. There won't be any disappointments renting this place.
The location is excellent and very quiet.
I have finally gotten around to writing a review, perhaps, I realize now, in the hopes of keeping this lovely home a secret, and making sure it's available whenever we'd like to make a trip to Tahoe! The owner has named her property "the House of Light" and rightfully so. The house is set in the middle of tall pines which filter the sunlight beautifully, which in turn is accentuated by the homes high ceilings and large windows. This is not a typical Tahoe rental property, but instead is set back off the road, on a large property that still gives one the feeling of being in the middle of the woods, a refuge from the pace left behind. The home was built many years ago, but recently the kitchen and baths were renovated. It still retains such details as redwood throughout, large beam ceilings, and heavy wooden doors that are now a rarity. After having stayed in Joyce's home both in the winter and summer seasons, we particularly enjoyed cooking in the comfortable kitchen, and eating meals in the warm cozy dining room looking out to the woods (which, by the way, is apparently a frequently traveled area of transit for bears! In fact, one of our party saw one in the front yard, but he ambled off before we could take a picture!). In the winter we also enjoyed sitting by the enormous fire place, watching movies, and relaxing. Our children loved sleeping in the window bed upstairs, and taking walks to the beautiful library a few blocks away. We enjoyed the house equally as a family with two children, as well as sharing the home once with another small family. The home is close to everything, and the beaches in Incline are really the best on the lake. The owner Joyce is extremely helpful and accommodating, and our rental experience has always been a pleasure. This is a special home.
We had a very pleasant stay at this charming cabin. Our kids slept on the large windows seat upstairs with a great view of the outside and one night, the 5yo declared "this is like a dream!"
The house is a bit old but it's well furnished and taken care of. We enjoyed spending evenings in the large living room with its high vaulted ceilings and fireplace, playing cards or other games before bedtime.
The owner, Joyce, is very kind and always responsive on email. The location is great--minutes away from Raley's of Incline Village and other shops/restaurants so it's very convenient.
We spent our New Year in this beautiful home. It is well maintained, spacy, clean and during the day it is full of light! Location is perfect - 10 minutes drive from Diamond Peak.Very smooth and without any problems interaction with property owner. Highly recommended!
The best of Lake Tahoe, Incline Village is nature, peace, mountains, and of course Lake Tahoe. It's a sportsman paradise. The 3 mile walk or bike along Lakeshore drive is delightful. Sand Harbor is 10 minutes away and has live Shakespearean theater in the summer. Watching the play with the moon on Lake Tahoe is a wonderful experience. Diamond Peak ski area 5minutes away offers ski experiences for all levels with a breathtaking view of Lake Tahoe. The Long Eagle Restaurant on the lake is a must see. Plan for a dinner or even a drink at the beautiful bar and gaze at the mountains and lake. Besides all this the people you meet are nice!!!
