"It just FEELS AMAZING here!" is the most common sentiment expressed the minute someone walks into our home.
Our main house is set on a very secluded ridge overlooking a 17 acre field, beautiful pond, and the Catskill Mountains. The sunsets each evening are spectacular. There are 4-bedrooms, 3-full/1-half bathrooms in the main house. A large sunny living room is perfect for catching up on your reading or chatting with family and friends. A large, open dining area with center island kitchen lets you prep dinner while socializing too. A TV/movie room offers a 55 in. Samsung Flatscreen Smart TV, surround-sound stereo, DVD player, game table, fireplace, and expansive views of the pond and mountains. There's an upstairs library area with desk (in case that one last email needs to get sent). Wireless extends throughout the house to the pool area.
Upstairs you'll find an expansive and luxurious master bedroom with sitting area, private balcony, and an incredible view to wake up to - also a large en-suite master bath, with jacuzzi tub and a two person shower. There is another queen sized bedroom upstairs with it's own bathroom. A "second master" bedroom is located on the main floor, with a comfortable king bed, sliding glass doors to the outside, and it's own en-suite bathroom with shower and tub.
Finally there's a loft/futon bedroom on a third level for the adventurous! (Easily accessible by a short ladder)
Just outside the main house you'll find a trellis-covered patio, with grill and two picnic tables, a swing...the perfect setting for a summer grill out. Around the corner, past the herb garden, is another private patio area overlooking the pond with Adirondack chairs--ideal for enjoying your morning coffee, or a sip of wine at the end of the day.
The pool house includes a painter's studio, a cedar sauna, a work-out area with cardio equipment, weights and a half- bathroom. Upstairs, a fully accommodated apartment, with complete kitchen, full bath, cozy bedroom and a child bed and couch in the living area--perfect for a small family or couple to set up shop. The apartment's balcony looks out over the pool and offers a spectacular view of the Catskill mountains. PLEASE NOTE: THE POOL HOUSE APARTMENT IS NOT AVAILABLE IN WINTER MONTHS.
There's also a large yard out front, big enough for a game of touch football, Frisbee or working on the short game.
In the pool area you'll find an elegant, deep blue gunite pool surrounded by bluestone tiles authentic to the region, Smith & Hawken lounge chairs, and a dining table and chairs that easily seats 10.

Great place in a great location...
We rented this property for my son's graduation from Marist College and found it to be perfect for our needs. Situated superbly between Poughkeepsie and Rhinebeck, the house has the luxury of offering the best of both worlds as its proximity to city and country couldn't be better. As an added bonus Megan simply couldn't be easier to deal with...
Very relaxing stay
We had a great time enjoying outdoors activities, cooking and relaxing by the fireplace
Thank you Nathalie! So happy you and your guests enjoyed your stay!
The home is lovely and inviting. We thoroughly enjoyed this very comfortable home and were sorry when we had to leave! Megan is very attentive and helpful with any questions. We highly recommend it to guests.
Rhonda I'm so very happy that you and your family enjoyed our home. You and your family were perfect guests and we welcome you back anytime!
Great for a Large Family; Wonderful Setting
We rented the house for our daughter’s graduation from Marist College. Many of our family members joined us. The house was perfect for our get-together. The owner Megan was very nice, accommodating to our needs, and provided all the necessary information. The house provided excellent accommodation for 12 of us; we enjoyed the beautiful surroundings- drinking tea in the outside patio, sitting outside for evening chats, and watching deer and turkey by the pond in the morning. The kids enjoyed the pool. They had their party in the pool house. The inside also gave us a perfect setting for family meals and evening conversations. The house is ideally located for visiting the nearby attractions – Walkway over the Hudson, FDR home and library, Innisfree garden, etc.. We had a great dinner at the Culinary Institute one evening. If you have a large group, the house is perfect, and Hudson valley is a great location to spend some time.
Thank you for the lovely review Pranab - I'm thrilled that you and your family had a wonderful time. As promised you treated my home as your own and I welcome you back anytime!
Beautiful property, great owner
We (3 adults plus 2 young kids) had a great stay in this beautiful house. The house is very comfortable and had everything we needed. Master bedroom is amazing, and it's great to have a second master bedroom downstairs -- not to mention an entirely separate apartment (with kitchen and sitting room) in the pool house! Megan (the owner) was *so* responsive and flexible (allowing us to check out several hours late, for example). Would love to go back in the summer when the pool is usable. Also a great location, just 90 mins away from the city and 15-20 mins away from Rhinebeck, Kingston, etc. Highly recommended!
Thank you Jennifer for such a lovely review. I'm so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay and we look forward to having you back again!
Perfect country get away for a young family!!!
My husband and my two boys, who are 3 year and 9 months spent 3 glorious days here.
Even though it was still Winter, it was such a beautiful property with totally chill out relaxing vibes. I loved the swinging chair on the front of the house watching the sunset every evening. Megan the owner is fast and responsive, she was kind enough to let us have a late check out as my son was ill and needed to sleep in. I will definitely be back to visit in summer to use that amazing pool!!!
Mariko we loved having you! So happy you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to seeing you and your family again soon.
The Hudson River Valley. The beauty that inspired the Hudson River School of painting. Rolling hills, winding two-lane country roads, sunsets on the river, farms feeding local restaurants and farmers markets, horse country, beautiful Hudson River river estates of the Vanderbilts, Roosevelts, and Livingstons, The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park fueling/elevating the quality of every local restaurant. All of it just minutes away, or maybe we'll just stay home today and sit by the pool.
