Reminds me of my childhood home.

The cottage was the perfect location for our stay. This is an older home located in a small rural community between Bristol TN/VA and Johnson City.

While not well suited for a large family, lt is great for a couples getaway. This was our second visit and we will definitely return.

I lived in the Tri Cities area for 60+years. Staying here is like coming back home.

cozy cottage

  • 4 of 5

second time we have stayed at this property, will definitely stay again, Only bad things we found on this stay , there was only one roll of toilet paper, the tub didn't drain properly after showers, there was some hair from the previous renters left in the tub and shower on the wall. The only other thing was no detergent for the dishwasher, and ya better watch the rug in the kitchen it can be a trip hazard. The overall cleanliness was great, the beds sleep great , the dinner down the street was great. We love the little town and its closeness to the lake and speedway.

Nice place

Enjoyed staying at the house. It was a quite neighborhood and there was a pizza restaurant down from the house that was really good. The Bristol Motor Speedway was about 10 minutes away.

Honest Review

  • 4 of 5

If I'm going to write a review I'm going to give an honest review.

There were 4 of us in our group and we spent two nights in the house. The owner and assistants were very friendly and timely with responses to questions and booking. Home is extremely clean (and I'm very picky), and plenty of bathroom linens.

The owner may or may not know about these issues

(1) the tub didn't drain well, during a shower I was standing in water 4 to 5 inches deep. (Yuck)

(2) couch is uncomfortable when sitting on the ends because you feel the frame of the fold out bed beneath your bum. Seating was ok for 4 but would have been difficult for 6. One couch, one side chair, and 4 hard ice cream table chairs.

(3) Small coffee maker in kitchen.

Other than these issues we enjoyed our stay.

Owner's Response: Jill, Thank you for the taking the time to review the cottage. We are pleased you were happy with the cleanliness and overall atmosphere of the cottage. Thank you kindly for advising us of the clogged shower. We will certainly remedy that immediately. We do understand that sofa sleepers aren't always the most comfortable. However, we wanted the guests to be able to have additional sleeping choices, so we opted for a sleeper sofa versus a regular sofa. We will take that under advisement when the time comes to replace the sofa for a new one. We look forward to having you back in the future. Staci

Great place, awesome house!!!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and two teenage daughters spent three days here at the tail end of our road trip through Virginia and Tennessee. The house was perfect for our stay in the Bristol area. All of the appliances were fully functional and helpful for this part of our trip. Some great deer sightings during the trip as well. We will do it again and recommend it to anyone wanting a very affordable place.

Family of 5 stayed here for the AMA Motorcross Race this weekend and we loved it. Clean, cozy, watched deer eat apples from the tree, sit on the boat dock and enjoyed the breeze, very clean, had every thing you needed in the kitchen, basically we didn't have to take anything but snacks and clothes, we was wore out from the race on Sat and didn't feel like going out to eat so we tried Pizza Plus that's basically across the street and LOVE IT. So basically there is nothing that we DID NOT like abt our stay. Plus the rental agency was very easy to work with while booking. And We did get in the water!!!!!

Nestled in the mountains of East TN and situated on Boone Lake, this cozy cottage is conveniently located to provide the outdoor enthusiast with fishing, hiking, hunting and racing at the Bristol Motor Speedway. Also, nearby Bristol TN/VA, the Birthplace of Country Music, offers music lovers exciting and talented musicians at the annual Rhythm & Roots Festival. For those seeking the shopping experience, antique shops and specialty stores line the downtown area. Within a short drive, additional attractions such as the International Storytelling Center in Jonesborough, TN, the Barter Theatre, Virginia Highlands Festival and hiking on the Creeper Trail in Abingdon, VA name only a few of the many activities available for your pleasure.
