About Steve and Jan

We have traveled throughout California and call the Bay area our home. Lake Tahoe is our favorite vacation spot, and Incline Village, our favorite community on the Lake. We love spending time at our vacation home, and hope our guests will enjoy it as much as we do.

Steve and Jan purchased this condo in 2003

Why Steve and Jan chose Incline Village

Incline Village is an attractive and vibrant community that offers much in terms of activities, dining, and shopping. When we saw this condo it was love at first sight. We were taken with the condo's decor, spectacular Lake and mountain views, and sunny and spacious feel as well as with the peace and quiet of the Bitterbrush complex.

What makes this condo unique

We visit Lake Tahoe all year round and have furnished our condo to provide all the comforts of home. Skiing at nearby Diamond Peak and the other fabulous Tahoe resorts is a favorite winter activity. In the summer we hike, bike, and laze on the beautiful Incline Village beaches. We have found spring and fall to be great times to enjoy the serenity and scenery of Lake Tahoe without the hustle and bustle of the high season.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The condo was spotless. I would know since I'm a clean freak. It was well stocked. It was such a treat to be here. We hope to return in the future.

Renter Beware

  • 2 of 5

We rented this place for Presidents Weekend 2016 (Friday to Monday). The condo is about right for the price they charge. It's not fancy. It's definitely not new. Nothing updated. This is not a 5 start condo. The view is great, but you are in Tahoe, that's not hard to find. Last warning if you rent this place: Bring your own kitchen garbage bags, paper towels, and a dish sponge or cloth. They provide 2 trash bags for the very small kitchen waste paper basket, and an in-use roll of paper towels. No sponge or dish cloth provided, had to use paper towels to clean counters after cooking. Couldn't reach housekeeping to get more trash bags and paper towels. Oh and then they charged us for a broken chair that was broken before we arrived. So no happy about not getting out deposit back. cashed our check immediately after we left and didn't' inform me for 9 days that they had an issue and were charging us to fix their chair. We didn't break the dining table chair, it was in that condition and so we didn't use it. The repair charge was unreasonable to replace some particle board under the cushion, but nothing you can do about it, they already have your money.

Owner's Response: We charged this guest for the exact cost to us to repair the seat of a dining room chair that we believe was damaged during the period of time he occupied our vacation home. We ourselves stayed there immediately before his visit at which time everything was in good working condition. Additionally, our housekeeper inspects the unit when she cleans, and reported that she had never previously noted this chair to be damaged. In any case, the terms of our rental agreement state that guests should notify the owners within 24 hours of anything in the unit that is damaged or broken. This guest never told us about a broken chair until after we sent him a picture of it with the invoice for the repairs. We make every effort to make sure that everything in the unit is in good working condition. If there are problems that cannot be quickly remedied, we notify guests in advance of their arrival. We typically refund damage deposits in one or two days; in this case, we waited until we had received the bill for the repairs (hence the 9 days) before contacting the guest regarding the amount of his refund. Regarding supplies, we offer a fully stocked kitchen and provide kitchen soaps, dishtowels, paper towels, cleaning tools, and at least one extra garbage bag for each container. I do not know why this guest needed more garbage bags for a 3-day stay, but if he found something to be lacking, we would have contacted our housekeeper had we known. We solicit feedback from our guests, constantly make improvements to our home and perform regular maintenance on it. Regrettably, in 11 years this is the first negative review we have received about its appearance.

Wonderfully Homey, Clean

  • 5 of 5

We (a family of 5) had a wonderful stay. Thoroughly enjoyed the condo. It was clean, very nicely decorated, and definitely felt like home. The loft and deck were nice, and we appreciated the selection of videos, the fully equipped kitchen, the washer/dryer, the comfortable beds, and clean linens. Helpful are the notes scattered throughout, the user manuals, and Lake Tahoe info. basket. Everything in the condo shows the owners care about their guests. : ) So glad we chose this condo. What an upgrade from a hotel experience! Thank you so much.

My husband and I just returned from staying at this condo. This is one of the nicest places that we have ever stayed. It was very clean, and the view was to die for. I cannot think of one bad thing to say about it. Believe me, that is a first. We will be staying here again!
