Lakefront Property with Boathouse

Bedrooms 4
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

4 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 2 Baths

We now have DISH network on two HD TVs with OnDemand and DVR capabilty.

This house sits right on the lake and has shallow water for kids to swim in.

There are two good size bedrooms, a master upstairs that opens to a balcony and one on the main. The master has a queen bed, and the main has two twins that can be brought together or kept separate and a studio bed.

There are two smaller bedrooms with bunk beds that work especially well for kids, and the loft has a set of bunk beds and two long couches

There is a maximum of up to 8 guests allowed to stay in the lake house during a visit.

There is a 9' x 16' boat slip in the boathouse, and we're just 200 yards down the lake from the boat ramp.

We have a decent assortment of pair and slalom skis and tube to pull behind your boat, and a pretty good array and sizes of personal floatation devices.

There're some cane poles for fishing, and those work well for kids (Mrs. Brooks sells all the worms and crickets you'd ever want for bait).

There is Wi-Fi, a 32 inch HD TV, and Blu-Ray DVD connected to Wi-Fi for Netflix, but currently no satellite TV. (I'm thankful for a break from the TV.) It accepts X Box, PlayStation, Wii, etc.

About Parks Stewart

My family has owned this lakehouse since I was in first grade, and I have too many memories here to list. The fish caught, learning to ski, teaching people to ski, cooking out, the banter of other house across the lake in the evening, waiting in line with UGA Head Football Coach Vince Dooley for our names to be called at LaPrade's (they didn't care who you were; you waited until your turn to go in), shooting off fireworks....

My own son now cherishes every trip we make there.

Parks Stewart purchased this house in 1970

Why Parks Stewart chose Lake Rabun

We're on the lake side of the paved road, so we're very accessible. Since there's an open slip in the boathouse and a nearby boat ramp it's easy to bring your own boat.

Seed Lake is not a turbulent lake like Lanier. It's small enough that it's not total confusion. If you have friends on Burton or Rabun you're just a quick car ride away.

What makes this house unique

Nobody has the view and location we do.

A Wonderful Stay on Seed Lake

  • 5 of 5

We are grateful to the Stewarts for sharing their lakehome with our family. The owners were very responsive throughout the entire process: booking, confirmation, followup, and all other communications that took place. It was clear that they wanted us to enjoy our stay and we certainly did so.

The property had all of the comforts of home - we wanted for nothing during our stay. We had a plumbing issue at one point (most certainly self-imposed) and it was resolved within an hour of reporting. We had plenty of room for the 4 adults and 11 children in our party.

The views from the property are amazing and the scenic value cannot be overstated. From sunrise to sunset, the experience exceeds expectations from any vantage point: porches, docks, deck, and all interior rooms.

The access to surrounding communities is excellent. The property is centrally located and we enjoyed day trips to Helen, Dillard, and Scaly Mountain with ease.

We look forward to another stay at this property and will highly recommend this house to friends and family in he future.

The Perfect Getaway!!

  • 5 of 5

This is our third time renting this lake house and we plan to come back again!

First off - the Stewart's are so easy to work with. The house is charming and comfortable. We had plenty of room for the six adults and two children. Two of the adults and the two children stayed upstairs and the kids had plenty of room to spread out their toys.

The area is so peaceful and our elderly parents enjoyed sitting out on the deck or on the screen porch which is right on the water. The hiking in the area is wonderful. The town of Clayton is about 15-20 minutes away but it is a beautiful drive.

If you are looking for fancy then this isn't the place for you. If you want relaxing, comfortable and unstuffy - then this property is perfect!! We absolutely love it and the area too.

Thank you Sharon and Parks Stewart for sharing your home. I feel like you are family!!

Super property right by the lakeside.

  • 4 of 5

We chose this property to stay at for five nights because of the lake, surrounding area, geographical location and not least because the lake name was per our surname, so it was kind of a 'must'.

Our stay at this house was the last stop on our vacation to NC and GA.

The house was just as described. Whilst there were only two of us staying, there was plenty of accommodation for many more people.

Most of our stay was during the weekdays in late August and there was hardly anyone else around and very little boating activity.

We visited and hiked the Tallulah Falls area / trail which was really good and very scenic - definitely worth visiting. We also took a visit to Clayton and Helen.

We spent the rest of the time right by the lakeside just enjoying swimming and fishing in the lake. Had bbq right by the lake each of the five nights we stayed. The weather was perfect so we spent all out time outside till sleep time.

The house and equipment was perfect for us and we felt really comfortable. The key pick up / drop off arrangements were fine.

Whilst it was a bit extravagant for just the two of us to stay, it would be a good place for a larger family to vacation.

We got our food and drink before arrival and topped up when we visited Helen and Clayton.

We could not fault anything, although a canoe / kayak on-site would have been a nice addition. All in all a great stay.

Thanks to the Parks Stewarts for 'sharing' their vacation home.

This is a no frills, bathing suits on the furniture wonderful vacation spot

  • 4 of 5

I loved this property because it reminded me of what a Lakehouse is supposed to be. This isn't fancy, and yes there are some things that need to be fixed and maintained, but this is old school Americana lakeside vacationing at its sweetest best. If you want fancy, high end Viking appliances, overstuffed leather couches and leather bound books on the shelves, this is not for you. If you want a place where you can swim all day in a beautiful lake, then wrap yourself in a towel and go inside and sit anywhere you'd like, enjoy the family cooking in the kitchen while looking out at the beautiful view of Lake Seed at a reasonable rate, this is a good choice. We enjoyed barbecuing outside, swimming in the lake, borrowing a boat and enjoying The entire lake for evening boating. This was a good value for the money. I would stay here again.

This was our fourth stay at this site and as in the past we all had a great time. There iare always plenty of things for the grand kids to do and a great place for the adults to relax sitting around the fire pit on the nights when the weather allows or gathering on the large porch. We look forward to coming back for the 5th time.
