Condominium, 1 Bedroom + Sofa bed, 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-4), Lagoon And Ocean Views
This condo, located at the quiet end of Waikiki, in the beautiful Ilikai Hotel on the twenty-first floor at the end of the Makai Wing, has an amazing view of the ocean and Duke Kahanamoku Beach and Lagoon. Bring your surfboards/paddle boards/boogie boards (a bather's elevator can accommodate boards up to 10 feet, 2 inches long), and ride the waves at some of the most famous and best surf breaks on the south shore of Oahu. Two of these surf breaks (Kaisers and Ala Moana Harbor), are within view from your condo's lanai for dawn patrol and an early go-out. If you have never tried surfing before, lessons and water craft rentals can be obtained at several locations along the Waikiki beaches.
Morning sun and warm, gentle trade winds caress you as you check out the ocean and surf, enjoy breakfast, and plan your day on your lanai. Not a surfer? Enjoy sitting on your lanai and soaking up the sun while enhancing your tan or stroll down to the best wide sandy beaches at Waikiki or Ala Moana Beach Park for a swim in the crystal clear ocean and sun bathing. Fort DeRussy Beach and Ala Moana Beach Park are especially good for long swims and snorkeling. If the ocean is not for you, you can swim, sunbath, and relax by the hotel pool and lagoon or explore the many tourist attractions nearby, including golf at the beautiful Ala Wai golf course.
There is no need to rent a car as the Ilikai is centrally located. A market, coffee shop, gift shops, and restaurant are located in the lobby area of the Ilikai. Sarento's gourmet restaurant at the top of the Ilikai offers panoramic views of the ocean and mountains while you dine. Restaurants and convenience stores at Ala Moana Shopping Center (Hawaii's largest shopping center), are just an easy 10-15 minute stroll from the Ilikai. More than 90 shops, markets, restaurants, and exhibits are next door to your condo at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for you to explore. Retail establishments and restaurants along Kalakaua Avenue in downtown Waikiki are all within easy walking distance as well. Don't feel like walking? No problem! You can always catch a cab, free or paid trolley, or the city bus to take you to locations on the island. If you want the convenience of your own transportation, there is a car rental agency across the street from the Ilikai. Parking is available at the Ilikai for a fee or there is free parking behind the Ilikai in the public parking lot.
Each Friday evening, a spectacular fireworks display overlooking the Hilton Hawaiian lagoon, can be experienced right from your lanai. Traditional hula shows and exciting nightlife can be enjoyed all around the island or closer to your condo along Waikiki Beach. Don't feel like going out? Then enjoy renting a video locally or streaming one from several websites using the Samsung Blu-Ray DVD player installed in this condo. Rent this condo and discover that the Ilikai has it all!

We are California residents who have lived in and visited the Hawaiian Islands for many years. We bought this condo because we love visiting Hawaii, especially the beautiful beaches and warm water for swimming, surfing, and relaxing on the great beaches at Wakiki, each year.
Owners purchased this Condo in 2002
Why Owners chose Waikiki
We were sold on this condo in the iconic Ilikai because of the morning sun and the beautiful ocean view from the lanai. Also, the Ilikai is at the beach and in close proximity to everything in the Waikiki area.
What makes this Condo unique
Each Friday evening there is a free two-hour show presented in the courtyard. You will meet interesting locals and visitors from all over the world. Also, each Friday this condo has the best view of the beach fireworks from the lanai. The Ilikai was made famous by the TV show Hawaii Five-0 which has been recently revived.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the oceanfront beach lovers’ condo in the famous Ilikai from March 23-March 30. The condo is the same as the pictures on the website. We spent much of our time sitting on the 21st floor lanai with a spectacular view. The staff at the Ilikai go out of their way to be friendly- from the pool to the very handy market. There are many restaurants and shops within a pleasant stroll. We appreciated the beach chairs and towels provided and had a wonderful stay.
Mahalo for your four star review. We very much appreciate that you discovered what we too love about this condo: the ocean, beach, and lagoon view from the lanai, the convenience of the area to the beach and retail establishments all within a short walking distance, the easy access to public transportation of our condo, and the friendly and helpful people at the Ilikai - all adding to your enjoyment of your stay in our condo.
Great view condo!
The condo’s view is great. The condo itself needs some up-dating both furniture wise and kitchen utensils wise. Overall the condo was great.
Mahalo for your four star review. We also love the ocean view from the lanai which is reflected in all the mirrors throughout this condo and can be enjoyed while inside the condo.
Great place to stay! Nice, clean, and comfortable.
Clean, tidy, and comfortable accommodations. Well stocked with the things you just don't want to haul over on an airplane (towels, beach chairs, boogie board, etc.). Would defiantly stay here again. The Ilikai is one of the older condos in the East end of Waikiki with many upgrades to the facilities. Great history with this building and many outstanding dining and shopping choices within walking distance.
Mahalo nui loa for your great review and the four star rating. We are always pleased when a member of our military enjoys their stay in our condo on Oahu. Please keep us in mind for your future travels to Waikiki.
Wonderful location. The numerous fireworks displays added to the experience.
Mahalo nui loa for your kind review and the five star rating. We are always pleased when a guest enjoys their stay in our condo on Oahu. Please keep us in mind for your future travels to Waikiki.
The view off the linai was wonderful! Everything was as promised, and the owners were great. Thanks for sharing this terrific condo!
Mahalo nui loa for your review and the five star rating. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay in our condo on Oahu. Please keep us in mind for your future travels to Waikiki.
We had a wonderful view of the Friday night fireworks from the Hilton and the room was very comfortable. We entered the room it had a musky old smell. (Ilikai was built in 1962) Not to worry, while we were here, we open the doors, bought a candle and lit it and the smell went away. Very relaxing sounds of the ocean and the breeze was wonderful! We will love to stay here again if/when we get another chance to come to the islands.
We arrived for our annual visit two weeks following the departure of this traveler and did not detect any musty smell upon entry into the condo. It is not clear from this review whether the air conditioning unit was off or on and could have been the source of the odor. We have had it professionally inspected which indicated it needed to be serviced. It was professionally cleaned and maintenanced to eliminate any possibility that the air conditioning unit was creating the odor. Mahalo Nui Loa for your five-star review! We are so pleased you both had such a wonderful, relaxing Hawaiian vacation at our condo at the beach.
There are various romantic moon light evening dinner and dancing cruises that you can charter that cruise off of Waikiki and Diamond Head. A good time to go is on a Friday night so you can also see the fireworks display at the Hilton Hawaiian Village from the ocean.
