The view from the balcony is a flat out lie!
Parking was a nightmare on the first day. The only solution given to us by the leasing office was to pay for daily parking ($12/day) at public beach access, which is completely unacceptable. It took the entire weekend for things to settle down.
The view is why I picked this place. Couldn’t care less about the decor. We spend all our time on the beach and to find out we were staring at a pool deck that we couldn’t use (this review was left after we booked) was so frustrating! I’ve paid this amount of money for ocean front views! To make it completely obvious to other people who are looking to book this place, there is no ocean view!
Outside of that, the silverware drawer is falling apart and the place could use a deep clean. The unit itself was spacious enough for 4 adults and 2 kids. The owner is responsive to messages.
This ranking is based on us feeling deceived by the picture of the ‘view from the balcony’ and the parking situation.
I am sorry that you were frustrated with your stay and that someone was parked in the unit’s designated parking spot when you arrived. I have never had a complaint about parking before because normallythere is a reserved underground spot. Unfortunately, the building beside us was doing work right over our parking garage so it was not safe to park there that week. Once I was made aware that someone else was parking in the designated spot the condo maintenance person made sure no one parked there or they would be towed.
As for the view, the picture on the website is taken while sitting on a chair on the balcony. I do not include the view of the neighboring pool because in the past renters have mistaken it for our pool and thought they could sit on the balcony and supervise their children swimming at the same time.
Lastly, the utensil drawer is fixed. I am more than happy to do required maintenance on my unit when necessary and rely on guests such as yourself to let me know when something is broken.
Again, I am sorry for your frustration because I do want my guests to enjoy their stay.
My family and i had a fantastic stay at unit 102! Dolores was an absolute breeze to work with and very attentive for any needs we may have had. She even had a new refrigerator installed right before we arrived to make sure our stay was awesome! On a bad note: there was some major construction going on the whole time we were there and it would have been nice to have a heads up. Also, the balcony of this condo over looks a pool and hot tub that we are NOT allowed to use and people from the other condo unit will lay out right next to the balcony; other than that, the stay was wonderful! The condo exceeded our expectations and was very cozy with a lot of extra little things to make our stay very easy. An absolute dream location away from the hustle and bustle of the spring-breakers.
Very clean, plenty room, great location.. all around perfect! Cant wait to stay here again!
Great place for a family vacation
Enjoyed our week at Indian Shores. Beach is wide and the sand is soft. The beds were comfortable and the unit was very spacious. I would vacation there again.
Wonderful week on the beach
Beach Palms 102 is very spacious, upgraded nicely, and maintained very well. I read the previous reviews to understand a few of the issues others had, and we didn't really have those problems with the Beach Cottages pool area being noisy. You have to understand that the view you're getting with 102 is an Oceanview room, which is absolutely fine for the amount you're paying. We've stayed in an Oceanfront room at Sandcastle in the past, and you'll pay about $300-$400 more per week. For the amount of time you spend in the room, the view isn't that important for me (don't ask my wife though). The beach is beautiful, and the walk is easy. The positive of being in 102 is that you don't have to take the elevators as often; however, the key system to unlock the gates is really cumbersome. It'd be nice if they'd upgrade to keyless fobs or a badge of some sort. The locks would work well one day, then horribly the next. Parking was easy and convenient under the condos. The Beach Palms area of Gulf Blvd is a little more busy than further up the road in Indian Rocks, but it's not as bad as further down the stretch by Madeira and John's Pass. Overall a wonderful stay at Beach Palms 102.
We really loved the area and the easy access to the beach. The condo itself was nice. Our grandchildren loved the heated pool.
Great location on the beach with many local restaurants and shopping nearby. A trolley stops in front of the building and runs from Clearwater to St. Pete's. Disney is approx. 90 minutes away and 40 minutes to Busch Gardens and Adventure Island.
