Our family has been coming to the north shore for years and hope your family enjoys it as much as we do! We love to swim, ski and hike and find the Incline Village area offers all of this.
The short walk to the beach and pool make this home perfect for large families, especially those with small children. No parking hassles! The numerous family rooms and large decks allow everyone their own space, and make the home ideal for entertaining.
We were able to book a return visit in June (note to self, book early). The weather was absolutely wonderful! We spent a lot of time outside on the large wrap-around deck. We noticed some upgrades done by the owners over last time. There is a new large range and oven in the large kitchen. So now the kitchen here has THREE ovens AND a warming oven. I'd say that would keep the chefs in your group happy. I was also told the dishwasher is brand new (worked fine). The owners also had replaced all the smoke and CO detectors and the drinking water filter system in the wet bar--it is nice to deal with people who care about their guests.
Of course the location is the thing. A short walk to the wonderful beach with a large pool. Here's a tip, after noon on Sundays access (with the rental pass) to the indoor recreation center with it's facilities including an indoor pool is free. Who's to say how long that is going to be the case but we certainly took advantage of it.
BTW, we found beach chairs, floats, toys, umbrellas in the garage for our use though there are also lounge chairs and some shade at the beach/pool. I also found out they are going to be putting up a large chairlift chair swing as one more thing to do. I can't wait!
The home is in an excellent location with all the amenities one could possibly need. The kitchen is well stocked and the home is cozy and comfortable. I spent a lovely long weekend with a group of women for a girls weekend and we had the best time. The home is so close to the lake. I would definitely come back with the family. There is so much room for a very large group.
We were celebrating a 70th birthday with our family and could not have picked a more perfect place. We consisted of three separate families and all felt we had so much of OUR OWN SPACE that no one felt
crowded. The location was perfect--walk to the beach, village market and wonderful walking paths near
the lake. The owners were most accommodating providing useful information since we were planning a
small celebration the night we checked in. The house was very very clean and there was everything
we needed for a very comfortable vacation.
We were a group of 4 families, 6 adults+5 kids. This place was more than roomy giving ample spaces for all. The skiing at nearby Diamond Peak and Northstar was great. We even spent an afternoon cross country skiing at the Tahoe XC area in Dollar Point (learned about this from other review here). There was also time sledding down the long hill in the backyard using the sleds that were here.
I guess like everyone else who stays here, we walked down to the beach for the kids to play and for us to enjoy the amazing views. Not much else to say other than it was a great and uneventful vacation and we would love to return.
We just returned from a stay here for my family and parents. The place was clean and tidy with no issues. It was a beautiful place to stay with lovely views of the gorgeous lake and snow covered mountains. The small details like plenty of hooks to hold all the winter wear made staying here even more comfortable.
A shout out for the nearby Village Ski Loft for their great service with nicely priced ski rentals.
Our extended family and a couple friends (7 adults, 4 children) enjoyed New Year's week here. It was wonderful. The house is large but also cozy. It has a good selection of gathering and alone spaces. My favorite was the rec room with the large cozy sectional and big screen TV. Others preferred the living room with the gas log fireplace. And everybody could not get enough of the steam shower in the master. Much better than staying in even the best suite in the best hotel. It is located at the end of a short cul-de-sac with no traffic and nice and quiet. We have stayed in I suppose half-a-dozen places in North Lake Tahoe, all very nice but this is the best and I believe was a good value as well. We plan on returning.
We enjoyed easy access to the Diamond Peak, Mt. Rose, Northstar and Tahoe XC cross country ski areas during our stay. Snow was in abundance but this area takes it in stride with all the stores open, the buses running, etc. For people not familiar with Incline Village there are supermarkets, restaurants, sporting goods stores, a Radio Shack, etc., making it a very convenient place to stay away from home. Snow removal occurred without incident or our having to contact the owner. There was a selection of sleds here we used to good effect on the sloped path behind the house. I will note that along with the sleds was a good collection of summer beach items: floats, rafts, chairs. There also is a good set of safe sledding hills around town of which we enjoyed.
One more ski comment, Diamond Peak offers a free shuttle to and from the slopes that we put to good use to allow some to ski longer than the rest of the group. There also is a shuttle to the other ski areas like Northstar but we always drove. And this comment may be helpful to others: the driveway here is very large and wide. It handled the six vehicles we had allowing three to come and go without being blocked in. I am sure you could park eight cars if need be.
Borrowing from a prior review, we too prepared a formal New Year's dinner without any problem. And we too had nice off-season walks to the nearby beach enjoying the great views.
In summary, this was a great place and a great choice. I do somewhat jokingly have concerns about posting my review as I may be making it harder for us to stay here in the future due to popularity. I will close with saying that one of the several highlights of our stay was all of us going to the New Year's eve fireworks at the Mt. Rose ski area.
