I spent most of my career abroad, living in furnished rentals; I have tried to make this apartment the perfect place to relax, discover and enjoy Parisian life.
BESNIER purchased this Apartment in 2011
Why BESNIER chose Val-de-Grâce
I love corner apartments ( I am lucky enough to live in one), they are bright, typically with a running around balcony on 5th floor, and often outstanding views.I love the neighbourhood too ( I live close by), very lively, with lots of foodshops, bookshops, markets, cafés and restaurants, more authentic than touristy - and so close to Observatoire and Luxembourg Gardens, which are beautiful all year round...
What makes this Apartment unique
At night, have a drink on the balcony and watch the illuminated Eiffel Tower which scintillates for 5mns every hour, at the hour..Or simply sit in the corner living-room and enjoy the view of streets lined with beautiful Haussmann buildings.

Couldn't be better.
This is the third time using the apartment. We are a couple in our mid 70's and enjoy the space, comfort and convenience of the location. We were especially thankful for the elevator. Bath and kitchen are a bit small, but clean and functional. That's typical and to be expected. Anne Marie is very helpful and provides a good deal of useful information about local restaurants, markets, etc. Lots of light and views in all directions. The small corner grocery on the first floor is convenient and the owner also very helpful. Would stay there again.
Just great ...
This was our second time at Anne-Marie's apartment and it was as good as the first. A perfect location for anything you would like to do in Paris whether it involves museums, gardens, or just walking the neighborhoods. The apartment is spotless and well equipped for cooking in. With the markets on Mouffetard and Port Royal there is plenty of good produce, meat and cheese available. There is a bus stop right outside the building and the metro is very close so if you don't want to walk there are easy options. Anne-Marie is delightful and seeing her again felt like meeting a friend. A perfect apartment for us.
The apartment is very well located in that it is walking distance from the RER and metro station and has two bus line right at the street door. In addition there are markets, cafes, bakeries and eateries within easy walking distance. The apartment is equipped with a rolling grocery cart, umbrella, cookware, washer etc. The apartment is a perfect for a couple. You will find lots of information about Paris including maps, guides to local eateries, etc. in the apartment.
The only thing I did not care for is that the shower head is hand held only-there is no place in the shower to hang the shower head and no place for soap etc. Otherwise, this apartment is perfect for touring Paris.
I can't say enough positive things about both the apartment and Anne-Marie! For starters, this was our first time renting an apartment in Paris and we were a little uncomfortable about the idea of renting from afar. Anne-Marie made all the difference - from the initial contact, she was professional, friendly, organized - she sent a contract and invoices for both the deposit and final payment, so there was no question that this was a legitimate transaction. She communicated with us prior to our arrival to be sure we had an agreed-upon time to meet, and provided clear information about getting to the apartment. When she met us at the apartment, she made sure we knew how to work everything and that our internet connection worked, and provided us with great suggestions for things to do and places to eat in the neighborhood.
The apartment was perfect - as others have said, the location is ideal, easily accessible by metro, RER and bus, and it's easy to walk to many places from there. It was bright and airy, had great views (including a wonderful view of the Eiffel Tower - gorgeous at night!) and had everything we could possibly need for a comfortable stay, including a dressing area with drawers and hanging space (very nice to not have to live out of a suitcase!), a fully-supplied kitchen, and beautifully-tiled bathroom. It was a real luxury to have lift as well.
We would definitely stay here again, and would rent any apartment from Anne-Marie without hesitation!
honeymoon stay - wish this apartment was ours!
We stayed here for 5 nights after spending 5 nights in Provence for our honeymoon. As first time visitors to Paris, the apartment and experience with Anne-Marie exceeded our expectations.
Anne-Marie was a great host - very responsive, professional, reliable, helpful. Before we arrived in Paris, she sent us detailed directions on how to reach the apartment from the train station. When we arrived, she walked us through everything (how to use the washer, heating, WiFi, TV, maps, market schedules, English/French pocket dictionary). She even reserved a taxi pickup for our return flight home.
Highlights of the apartment:
- there are several classic, Parisian neighborhood restaurants within a few blocks (we liked L'Oree du Parc)
- Luxembourg Gardens was a 5-10 minute walk
- Mouffetard Market is a 5-8 minute walk (we liked this market compared to others in Provence which were filled with cheesy knick knack stalls vs. food stalls)
- there's a Velib bike station around the corner
2. Windows & Terrace
- the apartment is all windows and terrace with nearly 360 views
- the doors to the terrace have good sound proofing, we were never bothered by street noise
- there is a little table on the terrace with a view to the Eiffel Tower
- the decor is sparse but just enough, you don't feel like you're living in someone else's house, it felt like ours
- everything we needed was in this apartment (dictionary, walking tour book, umbrella, hangers, blow dryer, washer, knives, cutting board, wine glasses, phone)
- there's a "changing room" which we used for our bags and hang up items
i would stay here the next time I go to Paris and would definitely recommend it to anyone.
Perfect Place to stay in Paris!
My husband and I loved everything about this apartment! The apartment is very clean and is exactly as advertised. Ann Marie was very nice and helpful. It has a small elevator which is a big bonus when you're on the 5th floor. It is a corner unit with a balcony all around and an amazing view, including the Eiffel Tower. We tried to catch the light show every hour at night. There is a little table and chairs where we enjoyed many glasses of wine, cheese, pastries, etc. There is a grocery store directly below with good bottles of wine and anything else you need. There is a frommagerie on the right of the building, and shops, bakeries, pharmacies, cafes, and bistros all close by. There are two bus lines out front which are nice to use to see more of Paris and not be underground so much. There is also a nearby Metro Stop and we easily took the train to and from the airport using the nearby Luxemborg station. It is in a residential area so you feel like you are actually living in Paris, yet it is so close to many tourist areas. We loved going to the Rue Mouffard which is an awesome market street with all the typical shops, and is fun to hang out in and watch the people. As a little bonus, if you are a" Midnight in Paris " fan we discovered that the church (St. Stephens?) to the left of the Pantheon, which is a short walk away, is where Owen Wilson sat on the steps when the car came up. It was really fun to see that! I guess the only down side to the apartment would be that it is noisy and we could not leave the windows open at night, but that's part of being in a big city. We miss the apartment and would absolutely recommend it to anyone for a real Parisian experience.
