About Fred Hector

I was born and raised in the Walla Walla Valley. I work as a Lieutenant with the Walla Walla Fire Department and am also a member of the Bluewood Ski Patrol. I bought this house in 2011 with the dream to someday raise a family in it.

I met my wife, Stephanie, who is also a Walla Walla native, during the summer of 2013 when she moved home after living in Seattle for 9 years. We got married under the love arbor in the backyard in the fall of 2014. The following year, we were blessed with our sweet baby boy, Leland. One day we plan to move back into this house and raise our family.

I love the Walla Walla Valley and am excited to share the charm and beauty of my town with others which is why I decided to turn my home into a vacation rental

Walla Walla is known for having the friendliest people on earth and I hope that you feel that way while you are here. My home is your home, and if there is anything I can do to make your stay more enjoyable please do not hesitate to call. Additionally, if you are here over the winter months I would love the chance to introduce you to the backwoods skiing of Bluewood.

I hope you enjoy your stay and will return year after year.

Fred Hector purchased this house in 2011

Why Fred Hector chose South Central

The views are Fantastic! With in a mile and a half of a dozen wineries on the south side of town.

What makes this house unique

Peaceful country living while still close to town.

Couldn't have been any better!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a family get together with 12 adults from Seattle, Renton, Deer Park and Spokane. The location was ideal, the accommodations perfect for our large group. Fred was very helpful in emails prior and texts during our stay. We played badmitton in the lush grass in the back yard and cooked amazing meals that we enjoyed outside. We were very close to great wineries, and enjoyed the beautiful sunsets. We gathered around the fireman themed bar for our own wine tasting! We hope to book again in the future- as we enjoyed it so much. Five stars!

Beautiful property

Pictures do not do this justice. Beautiful place. Loved the big long tables so our group of 12 could all sit together. Very clean and well equipped in the kitchen and bathrooms, plus fun extras like robes and slippers. We loved it!

Beautiful home on a very lovely setting. Fred is a great host, we will be back!

  • 5 of 5

We met as siblings to celebrate our eldest sisters retirement. We have always rented houses that were two small for our 6 sibling family in the past and were on top of each other. This is a large home that is well appointed and everyone had a bedroom! We cooked a lot and everything we needed was there. And we spent a lot of time outside enjoying the lovely patio which accommodated all twelve of us! We will be back.

Gorgeous Property!

  • 5 of 5

The Mountain View Lodge in Walla Walla was AMAZING! There were 11 of us staying here and it was perfect. The spacious views were incredible and the grounds were impeccable! The bedrooms are themed and decorated so cute and the beds were very comfortable. Every amenity that you could possibly need was provided.

We had 7 adult children between the two families and the layout with the basement was perfect to give them their own space...along with a kitchenette, coffee maker, tv and games. It was a great setting for all of us to be together, yet not "on top of each other".

The property is so close to numerous wineries, even within walking distance! I would highly recommend the house for multiple families and/ or couples that would like to take advantage of everything Walla Walla has to offer. Frederick and Stephanie were gracious hosts and made sure our stay was perfect! We wouldn't think twice about staying here again...in fact...we can't wait until we can stay here again very soon!

Simply Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at Mountain View Lodge for our family gathering. There was plenty of space for our group of 12 and everything is equipped to accommodate large parties. We were all amazed at how well the house was stocked. Plenty of towels, kitchen tools, outdoor games, movies, even spare propane tanks. When we realized we needed a compressor to inflate our kiddie pool Fred arranged to have one brought to the house! Everyone loved spending time on the porches taking in the breathtaking views and sipping local wines (multitudes of fantastic wineries in the neighborhood). We could not have asked for a better vacation spot, and we'll definitely be comming back soon! Thanks for a wonderful experience Fred!!
