About Fred Hector

I was born and raised in the Walla Walla Valley. I work as a Lieutenant with the Walla Walla Fire Department and am also a member of the Bluewood Ski Patrol. I bought this house in 2011 with the dream to someday raise a family in it.

I met my wife, Stephanie, who is also a Walla Walla native, during the summer of 2013 when she moved home after living in Seattle for 9 years. We got married under the love arbor in the backyard in the fall of 2014. The following year, we were blessed with our sweet baby boy, Leland. One day we plan to move back into this house and raise our family.

I love the Walla Walla Valley and am excited to share the charm and beauty of my town with others which is why I decided to turn my home into a vacation rental

Walla Walla is known for having the friendliest people on earth and I hope that you feel that way while you are here. My home is your home, and if there is anything I can do to make your stay more enjoyable please do not hesitate to call. Additionally, if you are here over the winter months I would love the chance to introduce you to the backwoods skiing of Bluewood.

I hope you enjoy your stay and will return year after year.

Spacious and beautiful home in great location near South Side wineries

  • 5 of 5

We had a super fun couples weekend at Fred’s place. Plenty of room for everyone, well-appointed home. We will stay here again next time we’re in Walla Walla!

It was a beautiful house in a beautiful location.

  • 3 of 5

The house had great amenities and made for a fun trip. The only thing that was disappointing was the bedrooms. We chose this house cause we needed 6 bedroom and this house was listed as 6 bedroom. The two “bedrooms” downstairs were really one bedroom and a studio space with beds in it. No wall no privacy. So with 6 grown adults couples staying in one house, made for a very uncomfortable decision for someone not actually getting a room. Should be listed as a 5 bedroom home. It was a great space and we had fun.

Owner's Response: Hi, Thank you so much for your review. I am glad you had a good time but I am very sorry for the bed situation. It was never my intention to mislead guests with the number of bedrooms. Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention. I will post online some more pictures of the basement space. Also, I will draw a picture showing that bed five and six are in one shared room together and bed seven is in its own room off the shared space with a door. I hope you come back and visit Walla Walla again soon! Thank you, Fred

Great ranch style home fits large family gatherings

  • 5 of 5

This VRBO is great for large family gatherings in the heart of the south side Walla Walla wineries region. Beautiful view of the Blue Mountains, the home overlooks wheat fields and wineries. It sits on 10 acres of farmland and is very quiet. Very comfortable couches with footrests, large tv, well stocked kitchen, plenty of books, puzzles and games make it a walk in and relax atmosphere. The dining room easily sits 15 people. Fred is very responsive to any needs/problems. I would highly recommend this home.

Best host I’ve ever had, never disapponts

  • 5 of 5

We had such an exceptional stay! Fred goes above and beyond for preparing the home for visitors. The kitchen is large and well-stocked. There is an ample amount of dishes, there are even some for the kids!

There was more than enough space at the dining table. There is plenty of space in each bedroom, and the beds are so comfortable! In each room you will find robes, slippers, and extra towels. He even provides travel sized toiletries. There are also helpful tips framed around the house to help with functioning things such as the T.V. and fireplace. The living room is spacious and is stocked with a large variety of board games. There is a game room downstairs including a foosball table and air hockey table. The hot tub was amazing, and kept its heat. The location is very scenic and peaceful. You feel so welcomed at all the local shops that you visit! Truly felt like a getaway. Can’t express enough how satisfied we were with our stay. Been coming for 3 years now and Fred has yet to let us down!

Great house with great view

  • 5 of 5

We have been renting houses in WW since 2009. This is at least to 4th time we have rented the Mtn View Lodge in the last 3 or so years and while we have tried other places over the years, we keep coming back to this one. Great space for groups to spread out and entertain, lounge, and cook. Best of all since we travel with multiple adult couples and no kids - all the time and beds are either king or queen so no one gets stuck in a tiny bed. We have had as many as 5 couples in the house and it worked great for all.
