Comfortable, Well-Equipped Home

  • 4 of 5

We were two couples spending a long autumn weekend. This is a great property -- very comfortable and extremely well-equipped, especially the kitchen. Location is fine and very quiet. Have only two suggestions: a better mattress in the room with the double bed, and a little better lighting in the living room. We know most folks probably watch TV, but we hung out in the evening doing a lot of talking and some reading, so better lighting would help. None of this is a deal breaker, and I would add that this place is perfect for families. So, we would definitely recommend this as a great place to stay in Salida.

Super Clean - Great Spot

  • 5 of 5

The house was very comfortable, super clean and well located. Bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and the house is nicely stocked and back-stocked with everything. Yard is well maintained and has nice curb appeal. All in all, an excellent place to stay.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the excellent review. We appreciate your compliments. I hope that your mountain biking experience was everything you hoped. Monarch Crest draws a lot of riders from across the states. I also hope that you got to try out some of the restaurants I recommended. Salida is lucky to have so many good places to eat! See you next time.

Nice property in Salida

  • 5 of 5

We spent a weekend at Greg and Kathy's home for a friend reunion. It is a nice, spacious home. The kitchen is well- stocked. Everything was clean.

The house is not air-conditioned. If it had been a bit hotter, it could have been problematic. We were gone mostly in the afternoon. When we returned, we would turn on all the ceiling fans to cool down the house.

Would stay again.

Owner's Response: We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for the kind comments. Playing in the great outdoors around the area is one great aspect of visiting in the summer. Another great thing is that the shaded yard and northern exposure keep the house cool even on the warmest days. Opening the house in the evenings to bring in fresh cool air makes for wonderful sleeping conditions. Close up the house in the morning and it will stay that way all day long. Ceiling fans in every room allow you to circulate the air quickly and appropriately for each room. We look forward to your next visit!

Very nice, clean and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We had a delightful stay in this pretty home. It was very clean. The kitchen was so well equipped we felt like family coming for a visit not hotel guests.

Spacious bedrooms and baths. Only wish the second bedroom had a comfy queen bed instead of the full and Internet was a bit slow for streaming movies from Netflix. Overall, we enjoyed this home very much. We also enjoyed restaurants in town, biking in town and on mountain trails, horseback riding at Granite Mountain Outfitters, and just relaxing by the river.

Owner's Response: We are glad you enjoyed your stay! I am sorry to hear that you had difficulties with the internet. We usually have 30Mbps service and have not encountered problems streaming video. Perhaps it was an unusually high traffic night in town or there was an issue with the service. Salida has so many great things to do outdoors. We hope you come back to explore further. Greg and Kathy

Exactly what we needed

  • 5 of 5

My family of 6 (husband, 4 teenage daughters, and self) couldn't find anything to complain about while at this place. The town is quiet, the house was fabulous, and everything we needed was at our fingertips. We felt welcomed!
