About the property

Townhome, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 2.5 Baths (Sleeps 8)

Our townhouse is located in Sandestin Resort, the premier vacation destination in the Florida panhandle. Sandestin is famous for the best beaches in the northern Gulf of Mexico. The resort features four championship golf courses spread over 2400 acres between the Gulf and Choctawhatchee Bay. The Village at Baytown Wharf has become one of the best dining and entertainment centers of the area.

Our townhouse is located in the Fairways section of Sandestin, a shaded and quiet residential area on the Links golf course in the northwest section of the resort. It is convenient to everything because of the short drives to other sections of the resort. We have a great view of the bay from our deck on the seventh fairway of the Links course.

All bathrooms, family room and kitchen have ceramic tile floors. We have cable TV (with new high definition 42' flat screen TV and Blueray disc/DVD player with free Netflix in the living room, 32' flat screen TV in mbr, 19' TV in gbr, 13' TV upstairs, and free high speed wireless internet access. We also provide a gas grill for the use of our guests.

Our three bedrooms and loft offer superb accommodations for at least four adults and four children. The Master BR has new furniture, a king bed and bath, the downstairs guest BR has 2 double beds and bath, the upstairs bedroom has 2 single beds and half bath, and we have 2 single beds in the loft. A baby pack & play, baby booster chair and stroller are available for your use. Sandestin offers the KidZone and Kid's Night Out programs and local babysitting services are also available.

During the peak summer season, we accept Saturday to Saturday weekly rentals only.

Bike rentals are available at Bikes-R-Us, near Sandestin. They will deliver and pick up at the townhouse, with locks, and will come fix any problems. Shorter rentals are available in the Spring, Fall and Winter, at lower rates.

No Smoking. Accept pets under 25 pounds with a $75 non-refundable pet fee. At least one guest must be a responsible adult at least 25 years of age.

About Kristy Vogel and Lynne McMullin

Woof. I love going to Sandestin with my family. Many of the restaurants in Baytowne Wharf are pet-friendly for outside seating. Some even have doggie menus.

Why Kristy Vogel and Lynne McMullin chose Destin Area

I purchased this property because of the view. I've vacationed in Sandestin for 15 years and it is the premiere resort for the beach, tennis, golf, dining, and night life.

What makes this townhome unique

You can feed the ducks and fish in the lake just steps from the back door. You can relax and enjoy the beautiful view of the bay while grilling on the large deck.

Perfectly situated for extended stay

  • 5 of 5

I had a month long business trip to Ft Walton Beach area scheduled for May 2016. Wanted a place for my wife and I, plus our two 10-pound dogs where we could avoid the hotel scene, transient tourists and rowdy crowds. This townhouse, located within the Sandestin Resort, fit the bill perfectly. The unit is part of a four-plex, with this being one of the interior units. The units on either side only had "guests" during one or two weekends, so we really had the four-plex to ourselves...and the ducks. The interior was clean and well equipped. Plenty of towels and everything we needed in the kitchen for a month-long stay. Dishwasher, frige, and apartment style "over/under" washer-dryer unit all worked with no problems. Average sized gas grill on the patio also worked with no problems. The main floor master bedroom has a king size bed that was firm enough for my bad back. The other main floor bedroom has two standard beds. Upstairs has a loft with two single beds plus a separate bedroom with two more single beds. Two full bathrooms downstairs and a half bath upstairs. The back patio overlooks a small pond with lots of curious ducks and turtles. Beyond that is a fairway and then the bay. The location was very peaceful and relaxing. Internet provided access to Netflix and Roku for the TV plus Wi-Fi for my laptop.

We arrived well after midnight due to flight delays. We identified ourselves at the guard shack. The guards were expecting us, gave us a dashboard "pass" and sent us on our way. Once you have the pass, enter using the right "owners" lane versus the left "guest" lane. The unit is a mile from the main gate, on the north side of Highway 98. From the main gate, it is another mile to the resort's beach front on the south side of Highway 98. There is parking available at the beach, or you can take the shuttle from the "stop" right out front of the unit, or you can run to the beach like I did. The shuttles run continuously until something like midnight and do the 8 mile lap around the resort in roughly 20 minutes.

Great sunsets on the bay can be viewed from a parking area about 1/2 mile east of the unit. There are a few chairs there or snag a couple beach chairs from the downstairs guest bedroom closet. A person could spend their entire stay and never leave the resort. There are a multitude of shops and restaurants at the Bayside Warf and Marina.

Great value compared to the area hotels. Highly recommended. Thanks Kristy and Lynne.

We arrived in Destin the day after school let out, so we were ready for a relaxing vacation, which is what we got. The townhouse was everything we wished for and more. The owners provided all the amenities of home right down to the electric wine opener.! The place was spacious and very clean. What we enjoyed most in the evenings was chilling on the deck overlooking the water. We would definitely recommend this townhouse to anyone wishing to enjoy Destin.

Family Vacation

  • 3 of 5

We liked the house, but it was older than I expected.

Overall - the house was good for the price.

Negatives-

Bathrooms were VERY outdated and both (even master bathroom) were tiny.

In the picture of the property - it seems that there is a walk out deck to the water. There are some, but only for the neighbors on each side. We did not have one.

No tv in 3rd bedroom.

Positives-

Bedrooms were spacious.

Loft with extra beds

Roku

Thanks

Great vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at this quiet, shady, townhouse at Sandestin. It is very close to the Baytowne Wharf (entertainment, dining, shops, games). Everywhere we ate was great except for Hammerheads (it was terrible service, cold food, super expensive for the quality of food). The condo was very clean and suitable. I am very allergic to pets and I had no flair-ups. There is plenty of room in the condo to spread out. It was helpful when the kids were napping to put them upstairs. We had eight people and we had more than enough room than we needed. You don't have to have a fishing license to fish at the resort. It is just a mile or two away from busy Destin. It is super close to the outlet malls. The condo was walking distance to a pool that wasn't busy. The pool stayed open till 9 or 10 at night for those people that wanted to take a dip without getting burned. If you golf, it would be your paradise. The resort is a great place to take family pictures. Their landscaping is great. We did have trouble riding the shuttle. They wanted owner cards. We got pictures of the owner cards but the driver's didn't want to take them. I feel that the owners are working to alleviate this issue. It is about a mile from the ocean. We drove there and parked in the Sandestin Parking Lot. There was plenty of parking and several shower stations where you weren't packing sand back in your vehicle. It was a great trip. Sometimes, you have to back off the ocean to get the better deal, bigger place, and a much quieter experience. We loved it! Don't hesitate to book

Welcomed Winter Retreat

  • 5 of 5

The Fairways in the beautiful Sandestin resort is a peaceful, shady oasis away from the hubbub of the beach or Baytowne Wharf (both a quick drive or bike ride away). This was our fourth winter staying at the Fairways, but it was our first time at this particular townhouse/condo. It is a gem! Although a pet friendly rental, the townhouse looks and smells fresh and clean - no dingy stained carpeting here! The living area is attractively and comfortably furnished and looks out onto a lakeside patio and beautiful views of the Links golf course and the Choctawhatchee Bay. The kitchen is well-equipped in every aspect, from blender to wine glass. In fact, in furnishing and outfitting the townhouse, the owners have pretty much thought of everything, even providing Netflix to supplement the basic cable (this got us through some dreary January evenings). Also, ample parking is just steps from the front door, a convenience any time of year, but especially nice in inclement weather. All this and more is why we’re already booked here for next winter!

Sandestin is perfect for the entire family. Plenty of golf with four courses to choose from, boating, fishing and the most beautiful, white sandy beaches for the entire family to enjoy less than a 1/4 mile away. If shopping is your thing, there are 2 outlet malls to shop the day away. The beach, Baytowne Village and other attractions of the resort are nearby.
